That riff would be x19034 harder to play with sweeping. You're much better off stretching.
x19034 eh? :)

I guess it depends on the style of fingering that you like. I for instance would just alternate pick that arpeggio in 17th position.

x19034 I tell you! :)

I would alt pick. Sweeping isn't my strong suit.

Silenius 03-01-2006 05:25 PM

I do sweeping a lot but usually when it's an arpeggio that allows for a hammer or pulloff on the highest/lowest string of the arpeggio. I also love bar chord shaped sweeps.

MRDuCran 03-01-2006 05:29 PM
Wouldn't this make more sense?

E-20----------
B----18----18--
G--------17---
Not for me. And also since the whole intro of this song uses outside picking, which is extremely benificial, I prefer the other way.

Silenius 03-01-2006 05:31 PM

Yeah, see I have no idea in what context that phrase is. :)

Shadows 03-01-2006 05:31 PM

Mitch is a fool!

MRDuCran 03-01-2006 05:34 PM

We'll see. :)

Shadows Within 03-01-2006 05:42 PM

sigh...i can't wait for the alexi laiho sig to come to tunetown... I just with they would make it left-handed

MRDuCran 03-01-2006 05:52 PM

Learn to play a right handed guitar like me, you'll find your fretting hand can go crazy!!

About what?

Apocalyptic Raids 03-01-2006 06:47 PM

Being Left-handed sucks for guitar :(

naw i've gone too far to go back, besides i should have to learn all over again becuase they dont make many left-handed's

Apocalyptic Raids 03-01-2006 07:00 PM

BC Rich make alot of their guitars left handed, and I think Jackson have quite a few models in left handed too.

When I bought my electric they had loads of really cheap ESPs at the shop but ESP don't make many guitars left handed.

This means ESP are officially gay.

blue3 03-01-2006 09:28 PM

That must suck. I know a few left handed people who learned how to play guitar with right..

I'm so bored right now.... I've resorted to playing the keys..(keyboard) as if it were a real keyboard(musicial). Rather fun to bust out some insane solos. I do a great Janne impression. FTR.

Two straight days, I have listened to each Bodom album once or more. :thumb:

How hard is AYDY on guitar, (I havn't found a tab anyway)/

SimonCore 03-02-2006 03:49 AM

^Which keyboard solo's do you play? (bodom wise)
^Which keyboard solo's do you play? (bodom wise)
lol I don't play keys. Read what I said. I was bored, very bored. I was doing the keyboard version of air guitar...on my computer keyboard.

It was to needled 24/7 ftr though.

Mother 03-02-2006 05:02 AM

I have considered learning keys before. I doubt I will though. I prefer to stick to guitar.

SimonCore 03-02-2006 09:20 AM

My problem with keyboards is that i wouldn't want every song to have one in! COB are probably the only band i like with a keyboard. If I had a keyboardist in my band we'd end up like 'Still Remain's. *shudders*

kurrpt 03-02-2006 09:21 AM

rudess from DT is awesome

SimonCore 03-02-2006 09:27 AM

^ I have not heard them. I also like dragonforce and they have a keyboard but apart from them and anyone i haven't heard so i can't have an opinion i don't like.

kurrpt 03-02-2006 09:27 AM

Dream Theater man

SimonCore 03-02-2006 09:35 AM

Too epic.

Shattered_Future 03-02-2006 09:52 AM

Nightwish goddammit!

I used to be able to play piano crazily when I was 6 or so...now, I only possess rudiments.
