Shut up! all you losers can't even help a kid that is interested in good music.
Oh fine. The Who- Won't Get Fooled Again. Lynyrd Skynrd- Freebird and Stairway To Heaven are some "anthems" that I can think of. If you want some good songs just ask.

I personally think Warren Haynes is cooler, but Robbie is a close second.
I personally think Warren Haynes is cooler, but Robbie is a close second.
Very debatable. I'd say Robbie.

BludgeonySteve 01-04-2005 08:10 PM

Nooo, noo, Mark Knopfler is the coolest. No pick, a headband, super cool sounding. cmon!

Actually Warren Haynes and Robbie are cooler :(

jpj 01-04-2005 08:10 PM

There's just something about Warren, maybe it's his stunningly sexy body......

BludgeonySteve 01-04-2005 08:16 PM

The stunning sexy body on his guitar, you mean?

jpj 01-04-2005 08:17 PM
The stunning sexy body on his guitar, you mean?
Oh yea of course.....

I think Warren may be avatar worthy, but we can't talk about that in here.

Broken Arrow 01-04-2005 08:20 PM

I'm not sure who the coolest cat ever is?

lunch998 01-04-2005 08:21 PM

BludgeonySteve 01-04-2005 10:23 PM

^**** straight.

Neil Young is definitly up there.

 we should do a "cool cats" award and make a list of the coolest rockers. Pictures included...

Illmatic 01-04-2005 10:36 PM

There are definately rock stars cooler than Neil Young.

Only joking, unless this is a comp for best mullet out of a rock star.

And can someone please explain how the entirety of Sgt. Pepper's is about drugs?

thickasabrick 01-04-2005 10:43 PM
What would be the classic rock anthems for the 60's 70's and 80's??
you mean like the top n00b picks of all time?

like Rock said...Stairway, Freebird, Wont Get Fooled Again, also: Satisfaction, Another Brick in the Wall, Hotel California, Back in Black.

not that they aren't good songs, they are usually just the only songs that noobs know, so maybe ask for some other ones first. you will earn more respect that way.

Illmatic 01-04-2005 10:47 PM

What exactly do you mean by anthem? Just, the most famous ones?

Also, "Positively 4th Street" by Bob Dylan is fantastic...what album is it on? Was it a b-side or something?

BludgeonySteve 01-04-2005 10:52 PM

Anthems like a band's best known song that gets a ton o radio play and all of the noobs of the band consider it their favorite.

thickasabrick 01-04-2005 10:55 PM

hey does anyone know what Dylan wrote Positively 4th Street about?

Because in his book, he mentions Woodie Guthrie living (or was it the hospital he was staying in) on 4th Street. And later in the book Dylan said he was living on 4th street in an apartment.

And those are the only street numbers he ever gives, even though he talks about specific locations a lot. Does he just like that number?

Illmatic 01-04-2005 10:55 PM

So I see.

Riva 01-04-2005 11:01 PM
Anthems like a band's best known song that gets a ton o radio play and all of the noobs of the band consider it their favorite.
Good example: Q: What do you like better? Houses Of The Holy, or Kashmir?

A: Omgz! Starway to Heven ownZ all!!!!!!!oneeleven!11

However, sometimes, your favourite song can be a really noob favourite as well, e.g. Those who love "Comfortably Numb".

Seafroggys 01-04-2005 11:52 PM

Imagine is another killer rock anthem......as well as Layla.

thickasabrick 01-04-2005 11:53 PM

Bing Crosby is awesome.

and everyone rep Badmoon for showing me that awesome site. I learned that song Badmoon, except I learned the second version, it seemed more interesting. I already knew a lot of the songs on there, although there were some minor differences. Great site though, I love how you can set the tempo and play along and stuff.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-05-2005 01:18 AM

Anyone have any (official) Bob Dylan bootlegs?

I have 4 I want 5 and 6 just wanted to know if they are any good.

Sorry to double post but I just saw this. Where did you hear that? ^ I don't think Seargent Pepper's was about drugs, just influenced by them. Not completely sure though.

Broken Arrow 01-05-2005 03:06 PM

What the fuck are you talking about you fucking weirdo?

But anyways I watched Neil on Live Aid yesterday, and The Needle and The Damage done was the fucking shit as always, but I didn't care for the second song it was kinda shitty.

Foustian 01-05-2005 04:36 PM

Yes, this is indeed true, Bonzo. I am 17 and I went to a cover band show at Hard Rock Live, they were paying homage to Led Zeppelin IV and Dark Side of the Moon a night earlier. When I went there, the number of teenagers to older people was at least a 2:1 ratio. It was funny, because most of the people I saw at the show had made fun of my musical tastes prior.

Agreed, That's a great song but I don't know why they put the other one on. He did quite a few songs...

I like my way of bypassing the fucking swear filter better. :)

Well, Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite is pretty dafont=]mn tripped out. I couldn't put much stock in it myself, but yeah.

magicbus 01-05-2005 06:22 PM

Does anybody else have the Crossroads dvd? I really like the first Joe Walsh song, Funk 49. And Clapton's other guitarist (forget his name, does his own song one time) has a very cool solo on the Blues in C song at the end of the second disc. I didn't watch the whole song, but I know he does a very good solo. And Steve Vai fails to impress on this one I think. He just kept playing the same dumb riff over and over again, and it wasn't very musical at all.
