I can agree that it's certainly beautiful, but I don't know about 4,000+ beautiful.

For that price it should be able to blow you too.
Pawn shop bass - $50.
Fleshlight - $50
2" Drill Bore - $8
Superglue - $1.50
KY Lube - $7

Making your bass fuckable - priceless

FlamingCouch 01-14-2011 12:04 PM

There isn't an emoticon to express how uncomfortable that list makes me feel.

true story. Websense is a fucking nazi. You can't get anything by it - I'm surprised I could get on mx.

FlamingCouch 01-14-2011 12:46 PM

I was reading about Beck on wikipedia one time and noticed his first record label was a little one started by him called Bong Load Custom Records. I wanted to see if it was a label exclusive to Beck or if he had other artists signed to it, so I clicked on it and websense blocked it under category Mariujana.

So you know it's good

edit: woah, post count right now = my birth year. :amaze:

Spaceman Spiff 01-14-2011 01:15 PM

Hey Matt, does the firewall block all browsers? That's how I got around the one at my work. They only have the well known browsers set up to block stuff.

FlamingCouch 01-14-2011 01:19 PM

Don't know - can't install different programs/browsers/anything without Sherwood Park IT's permission and a signed request from the asking employee's immediate supervisor.

They do it up pretty tightly here. Computer security = srs.biz

edit: in the years of posting it's now 1988 - sorry kids but my age is no longer reflected via postcount.

Spaceman Spiff 01-14-2011 01:23 PM

Try installing a different browser (I use Flock) on a USB stick when you can steal internet from somewhere else and then plug it into your computer at work and try it out.

FunkMetalBass 01-14-2011 01:23 PM

https://www.proxy.org/

might help. otherwise, idk dude

FlamingCouch 01-14-2011 01:30 PM

Neither work. Tis all good, gentlemen. I just make due with what I have.

Besides, imagine the shit that would hit the fan if I were to successfully break thru the security?

The first Capital H show of the year is next Friday. I booked it because my birthday is on Saturday. It's going to be a grand ol' time.

And we have possibly up to 9 shows booked up to and including April. We don't have dates for all of them yet, but I've been in touch with venues and they all want us to play, dates will be confirmed soon.

And our EP will be released in a couple of weeks.

And we started recording the second of four EPs we're going to put out this year.

FlamingCouch 01-14-2011 01:41 PM

Four EPs?! You've given up on album format?

Spaceman Spiff 01-14-2011 01:53 PM

Nah, we'll do another album next year. We just thought it would be fun to switch it up and do some EPs. It's way less stressful and quicker to do. It is much easier to just focus on four or five songs at a time rather than ten or more.

The first EP just needs to be mixed and mastered.
Drums and bass are nearly finished for the second EP.
The songs are mostly written for the third EP.

This is going to be an eventful year for us. Whether it makes any difference in our popularity is still to be determined, but we have a pretty good plan all planned out for how to get our name and music out there a bit more.

Or, like, block the proxy website.

Trust me, I know oil patch mentality.

I would be so dead

and yeah, they've got all proxies blocked anyways. but hey.

FunkMetalBass 01-14-2011 04:22 PM

Is it a linux-based system? You could always something like VPN Tunneler.

FlamingCouch 01-14-2011 04:29 PM

Nah. I'm not interested in fucking with the computer - they don't want me on this and that site and that's okay. They're not paying me to just surf the web.

I wish there was a time count on the computer though so you could use the net after hours. I mean I understand no pr0n and downloading and such, but I think I should be allowed to use social networks and such on here after-hours. But hey.

Convectuoso 01-14-2011 09:27 PM
alright guys i finished my new song

here it is in its entirety, took me 3 days lol

its mostly all in 9/8, the drums certainly are, but i adjusted the meter to try to cheat in some polyrhythms with 4/4 guitar stuff

also joel i dont program drums i play them on keyboard then quantize

http://soundcloud.com/raayl/the-rift
Lol don't care whether you use a frickin' tablet to input the data, it's still a drum sampler being triggered from MIDI.

Although it's almost no different to real drummer + sample replacement

fatbandit 01-15-2011 02:26 PM

drums is drums. unless you're selling it as a performance based piece of music, then it doesn't really matter, except for the pride of the drummer. but there isn't one in this case, so that's moot.

anyhoo, line 6 pod HD500 Y/N?

Epidemechanical 01-15-2011 11:39 PM

hey guys heres a video of me playing my new bass

Sounds nice man.

And shit, did you know we're like, twins?

Epidemechanical 01-16-2011 10:45 AM

what?

oh also i have a question

i think the output jack wires on my guitar are crossed or the grounding wire is loose or missing. when i touch the strings, the noise increases instead of decreases. any thoughts?

gaslight 01-16-2011 02:33 PM

Nah we don't look that much alike but we both wear glasses 'cause we're mad dudes.

FlamingCouch 01-16-2011 09:36 PM

Zack - finally read the write-up from the Brazillian dude. Turns out The Fields is your first and only album so far?!

Rayyl - I dig the shit out of the rift man. that's wicked cool. Saw your bass via youtube as well, looks/sounds real nice.

Epidemechanical 01-16-2011 11:57 PM

thanks FC.

Sounds like the bridge is grounded to the pots, but the pots aren't grounded properly.

You'd definitely benefit from spending $5 on copper foil shielding and doing a full shield on the control cavity.

funkyhoney 01-17-2011 08:27 PM

so, japan is really fucking cold.

gaslight 01-17-2011 09:38 PM

What is the biggest Hello Kitty you can purchase there?

Let's all muck in and guess, winner is closest without going over, the biggest one Ryan finds is considered the official figure.

I'll wager there's a ten foot one in a shop somewhere.
