They basically always play Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Wrathchild, Iron Maiden, The Trooper and Fear of the Dark.

And there will obviously be several new tracks. They fill in the rest with a variety of songs, spreading across their catalog.
Apparently on this tour they're playing every song on the new album so i don't think there's going to be much time left for the popular songs :)

Lord Abortion 08-01-2006 07:43 AM

Really?

Where'd you hear that one, Crag?

Apocalyptic Raids 08-01-2006 08:44 AM

If it's true, that sucks.

crag 08-01-2006 09:52 AM
Really?

I'm not really sure, it was either one of Kevin Shirley's diaries or an interview with one of the band.
If it's true, that sucks.
I think its good, i'm fed up hearing the same old songs all the time really.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-01-2006 09:56 AM

Yeah, but not everyone has seen them before. I would be fucking pissed off if I went to see Maiden, and missed out on a classic song which is better than the new ones.

Yeah, I recall hearing that on the IMOC Forums.

I hope they drop Wrathchild for sure, and maybe NOTB..but other than that I'm fine with them sticking to alot of the same old songs.

But I agree with Apocalyptic Raids that, since this'll be my first time seeing Maiden (If I get to go) I don't wanna' go and not get to hear Run To The Hills or Hallowed Be Thy Name.

Lord Abortion 08-01-2006 11:08 AM

This'll be my third time seeing them, and as long as they keep Hallowed in, I'm not bothered what they play, but I hope it's alot of new stuff, and some things they haven't played in a long time, (Still life, Sea of Madness, anything that's not the first three tracks on the X-Factor)

I would love it if they did Sea Of Madness.

I defiantely agree with dropping wrathchild. But stuff like NOTB RTTH and HBTN, while maybe sounding a bit dull on live recordings, they are fucking awesome if you are at a concert. There's nothing better then seeing a giant 666 light up right behind the drum set.

But it's stuff like that we unfortunely know maidenwont put n their set list. Considering The early days tour where they dropped CtH becasue some "fans" wouldnt be able to reconize it, and to replace it they put in wratchild. But you never know, maiden are full of suprises.
Can i play with madness is killer on maiden england

A 1 A 2 A 123 CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS!! YOU GOT IT!!! [GIANT FIREWORK EXPLOSION]

Anyway, today i bought Aqualung by jethro tull only because i love maiden's cover of cross eyed mary.
But i have to say:
Maiden's Cross Eyed Mary>Tull's Cross Eyed Mary (wtf is up with the flute?)
Wow i didn't know maiden did a cover, i have clutch's cover but thats it.

I like the flute in tull.

Lord Abortion 08-01-2006 02:46 PM

In the early days of Bruce's solo band, they used to play mostly covers, because they didn't have enough songs written for a whole set.

See the new DVD

You got "Anthology"? (sp?)

Have you watched any of the Samson footage yet?

Lord Abortion 08-01-2006 02:57 PM

No I haven't...I've seen the sets for it though.

PAJJ 08-01-2006 03:10 PM

I was thinking about this in the golden years tour, surely won't end with RttH, it'll be kind of a sad moment, I've been to 4 maiden gigs and they've all ended on that, I'll go out on a limb and say 5 will end with that (not counting 6 as it's part of the same tour),

i dunno i know it's not that important, but yeah, when you have too much time on your hands your mind wanders :)

Quiksilver26 08-02-2006 05:21 AM

:( there go my hopes of seeing Out of the Silent Planet live..

MrRhodes 08-02-2006 08:14 AM

I heard Maiden's new song on Kerrang yesterday :D They've still got it, it was amazing! (The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg)

Apocalyptic Raids 08-02-2006 08:51 AM

I think it's boring as hell :-|

I think it's awesome, great fun to play on guitar :D
Speaking of which i haven't listened to it in a while.

/puts on TROBB

Apocalyptic Raids 08-02-2006 09:46 AM

It is Maiden, so I'll still give the album a chance.

blue3 08-02-2006 10:01 AM

but if it's Slayer..
I think it's boring as hell :-|
I really like the new song. The intro gets me every time, i just love how bruce sings the "let me tell you bout my life....." and then how it goes into a awesome pounding guitar riff.

me likes.

Apparently the new history dvd will be out at the end of next year . Good stuff :)

Lord Abortion 08-02-2006 01:24 PM

Yeah, I love TROBB, it's the side of Maiden, the darker, intospective side I much prefer.

Shattered_Future 08-02-2006 01:25 PM

It's quite a change from the stuff I'm used to hearing by them, but I think they pulled it off. It's a bit on the long and boring side, but not too much.

PAJJ 08-02-2006 01:52 PM

i love it, even after the inital excitement of new maiden wore off, i still tink it's a brilliant song, and it's going to be amazing live.

victim of changes 08-02-2006 02:58 PM

Great song, and the cover for the single is awesome

Quiksilver26 08-02-2006 03:08 PM

TRoBB has grown on me so much... I liked it when I first heard it, now it seems as if i'm listening to it a few times everyday. I'm really thinking the whole album is gonna be like this, not sure if that's a good or bad thing at the moment though.

edit: still think the video blows though :)

There's Tabs already?

pate 08-02-2006 09:02 PM

Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to learn a song without the use of tabs.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-03-2006 02:40 AM

Well, if I hear anymore of it I won't be paying.

I actually think it's one of their better videos to be honest.

al98 08-03-2006 02:25 PM

The songs good:) i like it, cant wait to here the new album, when is it coming out again?

Don't really like the video that much, maiden seem to have there ups and downs video wise :(

-The Frank 08-03-2006 03:01 PM

USA: September 5th
Every where else: August 28th

FatalEnergy 08-03-2006 03:19 PM

The video was just okay. Better than the Wildest Dreams video, but I though that The Rainmaker and The Wicker Man videos were better than the new one though.
The video was just okay. Better than the Wildest Dreams video, but I though that The Rainmaker and The Wicker Man videos were better than the new one though.
The reason i didnt really like the rainmaker video was beacause niko just looked so weird with his beenie and sunglasses. also, Bruce (really in any video) does these really odd movements that put me off.

I didn't really like the song, but really liked the video. It was funny seeing Steve sorta dance around.

Daven 08-03-2006 08:24 PM

2 Minutes To Midnight is soooo good.

FatalEnergy 08-03-2006 08:27 PM

I've been stuck on 7th Son lately. Amazing album.

NP: Iron Maiden - The Evil that Men Do

pate 08-03-2006 08:46 PM

Indeed. Their second best, IMO, behind the self titled.

FatalEnergy 08-03-2006 08:50 PM

Killers is my favorite. I haven't listend to Maiden in a while, so I figured I'd pop in 7th Son.
