Tangy zizzle 09-26-2006 11:33 PM

Well no other band since Queens' has impacted me this much.

Zmev 09-27-2006 04:19 AM

Finch - Say Hello to Sunshine

This is pretty good

br3ad_man 09-27-2006 07:45 AM

I could go see the dude from The Drones play an acoustic set at Rockinghorse on Friday. I'd really like to, but I'm not sure if I can really afford to drop $10 on a train ticket. Hmmm.

Sepstrup 09-27-2006 08:50 AM

So djangos.com finally sent me DJ Shadow's Entroducing... after a month of waiting. It's an awesome album.

Happymeal 09-27-2006 10:02 AM

King Geedorah - Take Me to Your Leader

I need more stuff like this.

pixiesfanyo 09-27-2006 11:01 AM

Still Life - From Angry Heads with Skyward Eyes

Sepstrup 09-27-2006 12:10 PM

David Bowie is making a comeback in my cd player.

The Jungler 09-27-2006 01:46 PM
Midlake - The Trials of Van Occupanther

I still don't know how exactly to describe this, but get it. It's like a dusty, catchy, lo-fi blanket of sound.
That CD is really great. The sound is really cool, but definetly a step down from the first record.

The Great Decay 09-27-2006 02:45 PM

Tom Waits - Swordfishtrombones
Slint - Spiderland
TV On The Radio - Young Liars

Dooooooooo eeeeeet.

Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours

Eliminator 09-27-2006 03:40 PM

It's the most solid RS album pretty much.

Right now I'm listening to Thriller so I guess I'm digging that.

Eliminator 09-27-2006 03:44 PM

"The Girl is Mine" makes me cringe.

Eliminator 09-27-2006 03:51 PM

"Beat It" is badass dood.

but yeah there's some crap here.

pixiesfanyo 09-27-2006 03:54 PM

Converge - You Fail Me

Why hasn't No Heroes leaked yet?
Slint - Spiderland
I've been listening to Spiderland also and it's not that great. Breacrumb Trail, Good Morning Captain, and Don Aman are the only tracks that I really enjoy. The rest is just alright.

False.

Yea I love that album. It was an impulse buy, but now I listen to it all the time.

I'm digging Dangerdoom and the new Beck.

I want this album. If you figure out when it leaks, post it holmes.

Nah. It's a solid 4.7 record.

I've been jamming Orange Juice's You Can't Hide Your Love Forever today. They're just so great and I forget about them for years at a time.

I also listened to Pere Ubu's new one, Why I Hate Women. They're holding steady--it's a totally good record, though nothing out of the ordinary for them.

Little Man being Erased 09-27-2006 05:52 PM

I'm gonna rummage through every record store in Brisbane until I find The Glasgow School when I go down there next week. I need it so bad.

br3ad_man 09-27-2006 06:14 PM

I don't understand the obsession with downloading leaks. Am I weird for preferring to wait to buy albums when they are properly released?

Anyway;

Laura - Radio Swan is Down
Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On
The Magnetic Fields - i
Isis - Oceanic

Zmev 09-27-2006 06:16 PM

Mahavishnu Orchastra - Birds of Fire
Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs
Lightning Bolt - Hypermagic Mountain

I've never downloaded a leak. And I definitely prefer to wait for an album's proper release.

pixiesfanyo 09-27-2006 06:17 PM

FAgs

mr_jackalope 09-27-2006 06:35 PM

Leaks are awesome. They allow me to decide if I should go out and buy an obscuro record on the first day of release in order to look cool in front of all my friends.

the music is the same on the final release and the leak. so why not hear it early? i see no reason to wait longer to hear something i want to hear when it's right there for me. and plus, what if you don't like it? if you bought it before hearing the leak, $10-$15 just went down the drain.

Yeah, seriously, that's the only reason I'd download a leak.

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Visions of the Emerald Beyond

Electroooooo

Zebra 09-27-2006 09:23 PM

Yusef Lateef - Eastern Sounds

I'm listening to this for the second time and it's amazing.

Kayetan 09-27-2006 09:23 PM

I listened to Interpol this morning for the first time in awhile. I dug it.

It often isn't the same. And it seems disrespectful to the artist to me.

I'm digging the new Youth Group album. My friend lent it to me and "Daisychains" and "Sorry" are such good songs.

pixiesfanyo 09-28-2006 12:20 AM

boo, unstickied.
boo, unstickied.
popular threads dont need to be sticked, this baby will be posted in FOREVER

and obviously the joke thread will be quietly unstickied too, eventually

but im wondering if the old Featured Artist thing should be unstickied. hey bread what do you say?

asymm 09-28-2006 12:37 AM

I liked looking for this in the same place everyday. Now it will move up and down.

Tom Waits - Swordfishtrombones
Tindersticks - Tindersticks
Terry Riley - A Rainbow in Curved Air
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues / Lyre of Orpheus

Little Man being Erased 09-28-2006 12:43 AM

Plus this thread should be stickied because it's THE BEST.

It's up to you man. It's pretty old, probably doesn't need to be there anymore. Anyone who was going to read it would have read it by now.

PS This thread should be stickied.
