I saw Ian Mackaye punch a guy at a Minor Threat show. A video of that happening, I mean.

Anxious 01-19-2008 04:38 PM

Drugz r bad but violence is peachy.

poopie 01-19-2008 04:41 PM

yea haha... is ian mackaye a vegan or anything?

Liebensaft 01-19-2008 04:43 PM

Doubt it. Just a tough guy.

YDload 01-19-2008 04:49 PM

no he USED to love moshing when he was in Minor Threat (and the fighting was mostly in self-defense), but got tired of it by the time Fugazi came around

and yeah he's a vegetarian

poopie 01-19-2008 04:58 PM

yea i heard he would get pissed at people moshing at fugazi concerts

I love this video, and he's right. Emo is a stupid label for music.

okay 01-19-2008 06:32 PM

it's called emotional hardcore, asshole

Aeaon 01-19-2008 07:14 PM

You know Ian is right. Dumb terms like "grunge" and "emo" can lick my ass for all I care, and it makes me REALLY mad when people have to dwell into it. Why should those words be associated with music? It's cool to label something by a particular name just to sound smart like you're some sort of elitist? No, it's not, and you can learn if you JUST ACCEPT THAT LABELING MUSIC IS STUPID. Ian was right about what he said you know.

Aeaon 01-19-2008 07:40 PM

Their music was like what you get when something completely knocks you off your face. It's righteous.

thats not what he meant. labelling music is necessary for objective descriptive purposes. mackaye's only qualm was with inaccurate labels

Aeaon 01-19-2008 07:51 PM

i am sick and tired of your whining complaining bitching and moaning!

i kinda figured that but its such a common argument that i might as well throw out my thoughts too

Liebensaft 01-20-2008 12:23 AM

Minor Threat > Fugazi > The Evens. Each band gets progressively more appealing to old people (aka above 25 crowd).

All three are super gnarly fantastico, but completely different. Cool stuff. I think Ian Mackaye is sorta silly though.

YDload 01-20-2008 12:38 AM

where does Embrace fit into all this

also you're wrong

dei 01-20-2008 12:43 AM

Fugazi > Minor Threat
