Lord Abortion 11-22-2005 12:45 PM

Gah, NPFTD and FOTD are my least favourite Maiden Albums, far too few Stormers to the inch.

blackthorne 11-22-2005 12:51 PM
I was looking at the ozzy osbourne Tribute album, and it said that Bruce dickinson was the producer or something like that. was it the maiden bruce dickinson?
You need your head checked mate, how can you not like FOTD and considering you were saying to me the other day that killers is a good album? sure its fine if you want something to blow out your brains due to vocal talen but...
Damn, this thread is still here.
Cool.
wow, the threadstarter returns...or has he just popped in for one post?

anyway, Killers is a good album but personally i like FOTD more.

Lord Abortion 11-22-2005 01:14 PM

Killers is great, the songs on there are superb.

But the Bruce versions (especially live at Leeds this year) are better...

i thought Bruce did really well on the killers songs (off the top of my head - Wrathchild, Another Life, Murders...., Drifter, can't remember which other ones were on the setlist offhand)

shadow_stalker 11-22-2005 01:24 PM

I think Bruce sings all Paul's songs better, even on a real live dead one which is bollocks recording quality

on The Essential Ozzy, there's a producer called Bruce Dickinson, but i think it might be a different one.

i don't have that album, so i can't comment :p

crag 11-22-2005 01:41 PM

Bruce's version of Prowler that i heard was pretty poor
Gah, NPFTD and FOTD are my least favourite Maiden Albums, far too few Stormers to the inch.
they're my two least favourite albums too.

Fair enough

but 'a real live dead one' has serious sound problems, its like they just put an MP3 player out in the audiance with no proper mics and set it going...wait a minute

I don't know, I wouldn't say better, just different.

classicrockman 11-22-2005 05:13 PM

I've got an idea. I'm gonna make a little segment where you pick your favorite Maiden songs per album. Let's start with the landmark self-titled record. It was yet to be the "classic" Maiden lineup, but it showed great promises for the band. :thumb:

1. Phantom of the Opera
2. Transylvania
3. Running Free
4. Prowler
5. Charlotte the Harlot

Your favorites form the s/t...................:

YDload 11-22-2005 06:23 PM

Actually, your list is pretty similar to mine.

1. Phantom of the Opera
2. Prowler
3. Iron Maiden
4. Charlotte the Harlot
5. Running Free

Lord Abortion 11-22-2005 06:34 PM

1. strange world
2. remember tomorrow
3. Iron Maiden
4. Prowler
5. Phantom of the opera

King_Of_Terrors 11-22-2005 07:33 PM

Maiden is one of my favorite bands, yet I have never came into this thread.

/slaps himself in his face :upset:

Anyway, I will act like I've been here awhile.

Prowler
Iron Maiden
Transylvania
Sanctuary
Strange World

classicrockman 11-22-2005 07:55 PM

Cool, cool. I noticed Lord Abortion put "Strange World" at No. 1. It' s one of the only songs where people would go as far as calling it a ballad. But still, a great track with powerful guitar playing.

Just a few more posts and then we can move onto 'Killers.'

Hey, no stereotyping here please.

I bloody love strange world. Such a dreamy song, you know?

-The Frank 11-23-2005 05:39 AM

^^ ha, i do believe a while back i got into a argument because someone said running free was a crap filler song. I argued saying there wasnt any fillers. Then i follishly said strange world was the closest thing that came to a filler. Now i really regret saying that.

Such a great song

ashman 11-23-2005 06:39 AM

Guess what I saw again today? Yes, that Iron Maiden van I saw before, this time camera phone was handy, I'll upload them later on when I can feel my hands.

Running Free is the weakest on the album IMO.

Strange World gets the 4 spot.
