Apocalyptic Raids 07-30-2006 04:22 AM
Wow, I just now finally saw the track listing for the new album. I like the song lengths
If Breeg was anything to go by, I don't :-\

crag 07-30-2006 06:16 AM

I think the Breeg cover art is really cool, does anyone know who did it?

PAJJ 07-30-2006 08:43 AM

Wow love TROBB cover.
The new covers do look like they were done by derek riggs, which is a very good thing.

Rainmaker 07-30-2006 09:18 AM

the covers werent done by riggs, they were done ny different people.

cant remember any names, but im pretty sure that the artist for the breeg cover is the same guy who did the death on the road cover.

PAJJ 07-30-2006 09:50 AM

Melvyn Grant.
i didn't mean to say they were done by riggs just that they looked more like his style, you know they look good again :p

Lord Abortion 07-30-2006 11:32 AM

I'm loving the new cover art.

Aakon_Keetreh 07-30-2006 12:10 PM

Im so excited.

Nepenthe 07-30-2006 12:53 PM
If Breeg was anything to go by, I don't :-\
They are all just about 7+ minutes.

FatalEnergy 07-30-2006 01:28 PM

Why dosen't Riggs do the covers anymore?

The Dance of Death cover was horrible, but the Brave New World cover wasn't bad.

JamJar 07-30-2006 01:30 PM

I liked the cover for Brave New World a lot ans yeah I agree that the Dance Of Death cover was horrible. My personal favourite Maiden cover is Somewhere In Time.

Nepenthe 07-30-2006 01:41 PM

Powerslave would have to be mine.

FatalEnergy 07-30-2006 01:55 PM

As cliche as it is, I probably like The Number of the Beast cover the most

Nepenthe 07-30-2006 01:56 PM

Number Of The Beast would easily be my second favorite.

Aakon_Keetreh 07-30-2006 03:31 PM

Mine would be Live After Death

pate 07-30-2006 03:33 PM

Mine is Seventh Son, followed by Killers and Piece of Mind.

FatalEnergy 07-30-2006 03:35 PM

I forgot about the Live After Death cover. That one is pretty awesome as well.

Mikesn 07-30-2006 04:04 PM

I'd say...

Powerslave then Somewhere in Time then Live After Death

Aakon_Keetreh 07-30-2006 04:12 PM

Live after Death, its just sooo cool.

PAJJ 07-30-2006 04:15 PM

Mines probably LAD, PoM, TETMD single or Fotd (live) single as it's one of my favourite eddies,

FatalEnergy 07-30-2006 04:17 PM

The Running Free single has a very cool cover, with Eddie in the shadows.

crag 07-30-2006 05:35 PM

I'd probably say LAD or SiT.

I think we may have the next Bruce here:p

FatalEnergy 07-30-2006 05:37 PM

Sounds like Abu from The Simpsons

TojesDolan 07-30-2006 05:58 PM

There's something that catches me about Virtual IX.

Lord Abortion 07-30-2006 06:02 PM

I love that cover too...it's really cool.

FatalEnergy 07-30-2006 07:40 PM

I kind of liked the cover for The X Factor, even though I don't really like the album.

Nepenthe 07-30-2006 07:42 PM

I don't really like X Factor's cover, but the Virtual XI is a pretty cool one.

Lord Abortion 07-30-2006 07:47 PM
I kind of liked the cover for The X Factor, even though I don't really like the album.
/Says exactly the opposite.

temporary 07-30-2006 07:54 PM

My favorites either Killers or LaD. I love the way Eddies killing the guy on Killers.

Anyways, I've been away for a while, but I'm soooooooooooo happy to see Maiden are coming to Philly. I'm getting tickets as soon as they go on sale.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-30-2006 09:55 PM

Best cover is Killers, of course.

Quiksilver26 07-30-2006 10:12 PM

I remember I had to draw the Killers cover for art last year... It took less than a period to draw eddie, but the rest took like a week

inassociationwithdeanlearner 07-31-2006 03:21 AM
Sounds like Abu from The Simpsons
I think you mean Apu :p but by god that video is hilarious.

Anyway i'm assuming this has already been posted but just incase it hasn't i'm guessing you guys would be very grateful to see this.

Its not bad, however i dont think it really sounds that much different to their other stuff, they made out that it was gonna be very different sounding and kinda progressive but all in all i was a little dissapointed by the lack of change. Its still a good song but i was hoping for some a bit more different.

clown_phobia 07-31-2006 05:43 AM

Live After Death is such a good album. There's not a song that i don't like on it. The guitars sound so good on that. they harmonise so well (although that may the case on every iron maiden album).

crag 07-31-2006 09:32 AM

As far as live albums are concerned i much prefer Maiden England. Easily the best set list ever:)

Arlan89 07-31-2006 09:56 AM

Great band, got all of their albums (except for the best-of compilations), my favourite has to be Somewhere In Time, damn love that album especially that ****in' awesome guitarsolo in Stranger In A Strange Land. I've heard the new song and I'm a bit dissapointed by it, but I'm sure they'll have some kick-*** songs on the new album.

temporary 07-31-2006 11:10 AM

I definitly like The Reincarnation, I like the dark feel alot. I wouldn't say its up to par with the best tracks on Brave New World and Dance of Death, but its definitly quality.
As far as live albums are concerned i much prefer Maiden England. Easily the best set list ever:)
Can i play with madness is killer on maiden england

A 1 A 2 A 123 CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS!! YOU GOT IT!!! [GIANT FIREWORK EXPLOSION]

Anyway, today i bought Aqualung by jethro tull only because i love maiden's cover of cross eyed mary.
But i have to say:
Maiden's Cross Eyed Mary>Tull's Cross Eyed Mary (wtf is up with the flute?)

guitarist.kid 07-31-2006 09:32 PM

I'm not an Iron Maiden fanboy but I'm gonna go see them with Bullet for my Valentine in October. What do you think their set list will look like because I honnestly don't like all their song.

pate 07-31-2006 09:51 PM

They basically always play Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Wrathchild, Iron Maiden, The Trooper and Fear of the Dark.

And there will obviously be several new tracks. They fill in the rest with a variety of songs, spreading across their catalog.

temporary 07-31-2006 10:24 PM

I'm curious, does anyone know what the price range will be for the tickets?

Lord Abortion 08-01-2006 06:19 AM

I'm not sure what it is in USD, but it was £40 including Ticketmaster costs over here, if you look back a couple of pages, you can find the Canadian cost, which is probably similar.
