As I was talking to Jacob about all this last night I realized that although last night was a terrible shock to a lot of us, we should think of it as a positive experience. My eyes have been opened to how horrible the world really is, and I think we can all help in bettering it. You go through your whole life and hear about the holocaust, read about it, and see movies, but it never seems real, history never seems real. It wasn't until last night that I realized it [I]is[/I] real, and we need to try and stop this. That site is a good start. The metal community should be united, and uniting against racists and nazis is what we need to do. I don't want to live in a world with people like that, and I especially will have trouble sharing a world with people like that if I were ever to run into one (seeing as I'm a full blown Jew).

Thanks everyone for support last night, I know I was the most horrified by what happened, I think it was cool for a lot of you to stick up for me.

i only remember when i brought the topic to the "report problems" thread (some 2 weeks ago) nobody wanted to do something against racistic avatars and signatures. i was the only one. it was against "the freedom of the speech".
then i tried to convince Captain Frank Castle to change his avatar and the whole discussion ITT started once again. it needed the spam of I'm Charming that something has been done ...

About two months ago when he was Necronominon I requested he get rid of his swastika avatar. His defense was the Swastika symbol doesn't necessarily stand for Nazism. Last night I realized how that is no defense at all because it may not always symbolize Nazism, but for him it apparently does.

It is very confusing to me how someone can be a relatively normal person, both Necronominon and Dylan have been people I was friendly to and had good discussions with. You would think that when they didn't know I was Jewish all that time and they got along with me, and they would still like me when they found out I was. Racism is far beyond my comprehension. You are supposed to hate for personal reasons, I don't understand how you can hate someone for something they cannot change. They had no problem with me before hand and we got along quite well, so the fact that they would not like me after knowing just proves how horrible they really are.

Sorry but I really can't take racists seriously. It's just somthing I've never understood from the day I was born. Even when I was little, I interacted with an African American child for the first time and I could tell they looked different but I didn't hate them because I had no reason. It's just such a rediculous thing White Supremacists believe in.

I don't understand it at all either. I have lived my life knowing hate as nothing other than personal hate. It was an eye opener to see how differently Frank Castle and I'm Charming treated me when they found out I was Jewish, seeing as we got along fairly well before. If that isn't ignorance I don't know what is.

yes i remember it... he said (because i too once said something against his avatar) that this is a symbol from the buddhism, what is true. so i thought he believes in buddhism - now i know that it was a swastika for him.

maybe necronomicon and dylan won't like me now, when i say that i am a polish ... born in poland, though i changed my citizenship some 3-4 years ago to the austrian one, because i live in austria since i am 4years old.

It's sickening to think someone can like you one minute then hate you the next purely becuase of who you're parents and grandparents are. Racism is so far detatched from personal feelings that is has almost no real meaning.

Well I found out Dylan was a Nazi last night when I asked if he was half or full jewish. I saw the avatar and figured he was Jewish making a joke, becuase we've got that racial immunit to make fun of ourselves without getting frowned upon, but then I found out he actually [I]was[/I] a Nazi and I had said I was Jewish. He proceeded to make a few racist comments and that's when things spiraled way out of control.

I actually saw a Holocaust video on some of the concentration camps. It was the most horrific thing I've ever seen. It's very hard to believe it happened.

One of the most eye opening things I've seen was a video of a blonde woman tied to a chair, and she screams "Snuff Films don't exist" and she's shot in the head. It certainly looks real, though I'm not a hundred percent.

There's also a DVD from the same guys that make Bumfights and it's about terrorism. I saw the trailor and was horrified to seen a man carrying a human head and dropping it off of a front porch.

If you've ever seen Schindler's List, it's a very touching movie.

8mm is one of the most shocking films i've seen... before this film i saw a lot of horror movies and played brutal video games and thought i can deal with brutality. but its something different when you know its science-fiction and when its real - like 8mm. now i have to write a paper for university about the chechnya conflict in russia and when i read some books i get sick ... its horrible what's going on there. execution, abuse, rapes, ... and the whole world don't want to know it - looks away.

i was two times in my life in a concentration camp: 1) near linz (i forgot the name). its some 100km away from my hometown and 200km away from vienna. after the visit i couldn't eat for the half day. 2) auschwitz last summer.

We actually had a guy who was a Jewish Holocaust survivor come in and give us his story. It was so bad what happened to him.

Any decent human being would want to see the Nazis suffer after hearing a story of a holocaust survivor. I would love to see every Nazi right now go through a week in the life of a Jew during the holocaust, and see how many of them are Nazis afterwards.

That's basically it. My parents are hardcore Catholics and they tried so hard to force it on me that it drove me away. They're now convinced that my life is meaningless and they're failures as parents.

yes, i agree with you; iraq is the small picture but when you look at the big picture it has to do with the western world (secularised/catholic) and the islamic world - and some hardcore islamics fights the jihad against the westen world. Sure Bush didn't attaked iraq cause of religion and mass destruction weapons - he wanted the oil. but since 9/11 and since afghanistan and iraq the western world and the islamic world diverged a lot.
