hopesfall - A-Types
This is some solid complex modern rock. |
Would I like them? I had a song of theirs a few years back and it was just your standard hardcore/screaming type deal.
Have they changed their sound or something? |
That current tour they're doing is insane. They're playing like 6 times in Melbrourne. I wanna see 'em so, so, so sososososos bad. It makes me die a little just thinking about it. Man I love them.
They were pretty damn good. The harder, faster songs like "Baby^2," "You Really Don't Care" and "Shark Fin Blues" were much better than the rest. And they kind of dragged the last song out way way way too long. But other than that it was cool.
Ah ****, I just realised this girl I talk to sometimes said she was going to their gig tonight but I was at work tonight and she dropped in and said hi. That means she didn't go. Poo.
They didn't play until about 10:30 I think, so you never know. I've been diggin this shit: Kanye West - The College Dropout Drive-By Truckers - The Dirty South The Beatles - Help! Rufus Wainwright - Want One The first three are new acquisitions, and the last one is a revisiting. |
Live they are amazing. Just amazing.
Oh my god. I might be seeing them this summer with some friends when they come here with Cannibal Corpse. |
The Flaming Lips
Got their new CD as a birthday gift today. |
Bear Vs. Shark - Terrorhawk
This is quite great. Very ATDI/Fugazi-ish and catchy. I heard they broke up, too. That's a shame. |

http://www.myspace.com/bearvsshark Listen to "Ma Jolie" and tell me that isn't one awesome way of opening a song/album |
Mclusky - Mclusky Do Dallas
5/5, this has blown me away. MY LOVE IS BIGGER THAN YOUR LOVE WE TAKE MORE DRUGS THAN A TOURING FUNK BAND! |

Have they changed their sound or something?
They have.. but it's still pretty similar to the old stuff minus the screaming. They kind of sound like Cave-In on their album Antenna. Dfelon did a good review of A-Types on sputnik and I say it's a least worth investigation (the album not the review). |
I haven't listened to any music at all today. It was kind of nice actually.

Nonsense you speak. I can't imagine not sitting in my school's courtyard without the assistance of Five Leaves Left and it being the same kind of experience. I'm digging Nick Drake then. |
I listened to Incubus today, I have a video of them playing The Warmth unplugged, it's really good.

I dug out all my Dinosaur Jr albums last couple of days because i got tickets to see them in May. 'You're living all over me', 'Bug' and 'Dinosaur' - all the Lou years.
Classic stuff, though i don't think my co-workers are too appreciative of searing, fuzzed-up guitar savaging their eardrums for 8 hours a day.:p |
Bob Dylan - John Wesley Harding
|
Gospel - The Moon is a Dead World
Seeing them for the second time tomorrow. |
very nice avatar.
Cheers mate, though shame Yow's mob bit the dust. In memorandum now listening to Jesus Lizard - 'Lash EP'. |
T.I. and friends. Yeah, I said it.
|
Pavement - Terror Twilight
The Zombies - Odyssey and Oracle |
Nomeansno - Wrong
Awesomest punk basslines I've ever heard. |
I'm done with Razorcuts screw that
New Order - Substance I have to hear "Ceremony" every day because it has the best bassline ever written.
I hear "Temptation" almost every day because it's the greatest pop song ever. |
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Willy and the Poor Boys
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Green River Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born On the Bayou Minutemen - Double Nickels On the Dime |
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Willy and the Poor Boys
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Green River Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born On the Bayou
I watched The Big Lebowski last night and it made me want to listen to Creedence. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm Interpol - Antics |
The Big Lebowski is a classic.
Eels - With Strings: Live At Town Hall I actually like this more than any of their studio albums, but it still seems too long. Flaming Lips - At War With The Mystics It's growing on me. Beck - Sea Change Chill. Also I just downloaded and gave Mclusky Do Dallas a listen, and it is indeed awesome, like Bukowski said. |
A Day In Black & White
|
Botch - We Are The Romans
|
Cynic - Focus
Spaceboy - Searching the Stone Library for the Green Page of Illusion Too extremely heavy, talented, experimental groups. Two great albums. |
