The Slackers have made some of the most faithful ska/rocksteady since
1970. |
maudlin of the Well - Leaving Your Body Map
Mare - EP |
Dino Jr. - Where You Been
|
Butthole Surfers
Melvins The Cows Sicbay |
Dino Jr. - Where You Been
Where it counts, you usually dig the same albums as me.
People seem to have mixed oppinon about that album, but I think it's one of the best Dino J records. |
Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid Of You and I Will Beat Your *** Slick Rick - Behind Bars Erik Sermon - Double Or Nothing |
Marquee Moon
"Elevation" is the only track that I don't care for. It's still good but sub-par to the rest of the songs. |
Yes, that's probably true. There isn't a bad song on the album, but if I had to pick one that's just slightly below all others, it would be "Elevation"
|

Its good, and I like it more than anything else after Bug. But the first 3 albums kill it. Not The Same is one of my favorite Dino Jr songs though. I'm listening to The Clash just now, because of that dreadful thread about it in punk. |

Is their first album any good? I've never bothered checking it out. |
It's a bit disjointed and badly recorded, but yeah I like it quite a bit. Not as good as the other two though,
Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid Of You and I Will Beat Your *** Slick Rick - Behind Bars Erik Sermon - Double Or Nothing
what comes first the music or the words? |
Is their first album any good? I've never bothered checking it out.

Nope, it has an awesome chorus. The two worst songs are "Guiding Light" and "Friction".
those songs rule; "Friction" is the second most badass song next to "venus" and "Guiding Light" has an awesome outro riff/solo thing. |
Well we all know that the title track is the best so why bother discussing the rest?
|
I listened to The Unicorns while I was walking around town today.
|
The Animal Collective is really good.
|
I was listening to Feels the other day and remembered that.
|
My friend sent me Feels today. She lives downstairs.
|
The Jayhawks - Hollywood Town Hall
This is a damn fine album. The first song is fantastic, as is every other song. |
It's a lot like Uncle Tupelo, but with a little more of a Tom Petty/Neil Young thing going on. You would most likely dig it. I sure am.
|
The Black Heart Procession
Beirut As Tall As Lions (kind of) Wolf Parade (kind of) |
OutKast - Aquemini
Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSounds EPMD - Strictly Business and now: Built to Spill - There's Nothing Wrong with Love Man, this is great. Built to Spill are a spiffing band. |
I heard about The Cardiacs before but the only song of theirs I heard was "Angleworm Angel" and it's really unnerving so I didn't really listen for more stuff.
Just thought to ask, where did you hear it? |
Danger Doom - The Mouse and the Mask
Why did I waste my time trying to decide whether this would be good or not? It's fantastic! Annie - Anniemal Great stuff. But I still think "Chewing Gum" is the best track. |
Deerhoof - Milk Man
This is awesome. Gang of Four - Entertainment! Tash - Rap Life |
Johnny Hobo and the Freight-Trains
Comfort listening. |
Rites of Spring - End on End
Man Listening |

Moss Icon
|
^I listened to Spiderland for the first time earlier today. My first thought was that it kind of reminded me of Moss Icon without the angry bits.
