Same. Bitchin' site dudeZ0rz. |
So I got this new avatar. I think I could do better though although it is better then some of my past ones.
|
Mark Knofler is cooler than everyone else.
/fact edit: exept Robbie Robertson. Can't deny that ;) |
get a motley crue avatar, since your name is off their song
|
ewww! Motley Crue disgusts me.
I can play Yesterday on harmonica  |
w00t! I can now play Badmoon Rising :thumb:
And how the hell do you play this  http://www.harmonicacountry.com/beatles/love_me_do.html
I can promise you that the transcription is simple. I use to have a key to harmonica transcriptions, but I can't remember any of it. |
i can't play any classic rock songs on my harmonica, i can only play things like When The Saints Go Marching In, and Battle Hymn of the Republic or whatever it's called. I havent tried learning any new songs in about three years though. I'm thinking of actually learning how to play harmonica well, so i can play Dylan songs.
Hey Badmoon (or anyone who knows the answer), who all plays guitar on the song Terrapin Station? I think somewhere around 12 minutes into the song, there is a guitar solo that doesnt sound like anyone that i'm used to hearing in the Grateful Dead. Did they have another guitarist for that song, or is it one of the normal Grateful Dead members? |

So, it is most likely Garcia. |
oh really thats cool. he's a pretty amazing guitar player, i didnt know he could play like that. i still prefer his more bluegrassy playing, but this is good as well.
badmoon you always seem to show up right when i ask a question. edit- and that song is ****ing brilliant! |
badmoon you always seem to show up right when i ask a question.
 yea Fact: Billy Cobham played with Bob Weir (G. Dead) in Bobby & The Midnites. Billy has also played in Jazz is Dead. Which is a Fusion Jam Band that did Jazz covers of many Grateful Dead tracks. Never knew Cobham was that close before I heard those. |
i have a question, why does everyone hate styx?
|
thats a cool fact. Is Bob Weir still around?
|
i have a question, why does everyone hate styx?
i dont hate styx. actually i've only heard two songs by them. i just don't know anything about them or their music. what makes you think everyone hates styx? |
^Yes, he is with The Dead.
i have a question, why does everyone hate styx?
Because they put out inconsistent albums, were flashy/homosexual clothers, and change their style for the worst often. |
^Yes, he is with The Dead.
Because they put out inconsistent albums, were flashy/homosexual clothers, and change their style for the worst often.
Basically, pwnt. |
i have a question, why does everyone hate styx?
I don't hate styx. I don't like them very much though. |
are The Dead still making albums, or touring or anything?
oh ya and Badmoon, i had a very long dream about you last night. I won a contest where i get to hang out with a rockstar, and i chose you. and we went to some bayou type place in Mississippi, and played a bunch of gigs together at a festival. then we went hunting for "crawdaddys". and i dont know what you look like, so you just looked like Jerry Garcia, and i referred to you as Badmoon. |
styx rules, everyone i ever talk to says they suck, i just wondered why. they all hate the **** yankees too, whats up with that
|
what decade(s) were Styx from, where they seventies or eighties? i really know nothing about them.
edit- and if by Yankees, you mean the baseball team, than i can't answer that question. i only know classic rock and other music related things. |
The Dead are touring still, but they aren't making albums anymore. Warren Haynes has replaced Garcia. They still can put on a great show.
|

The Dead? Yes. The Grateful Dead? No.
h ya and Badmoon, i had a very long dream about you last night. they were in the late seventies i know, the grand illusion rocks
|

Mostly late 70s and 80s I believe. I really dislike Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, and other bands similar to them. Except for the "I'm Sailing Away" song. I can still appreciate that. |
So let me get this straight, The Dead is the newer name for the Grateful Dead? Like how The Jefferson Starship became The Starship?
Or is The Dead a totally unrelated band, and you are just making me look stupid in front of everyone else? |
The Dead was on the Wave that Flag tour this summer, came to my area but I couldn't go...parents wouldn't let me for obvious reason :( lol
|

i dont mind some of Foreigners stuff. they had some really catchy songs, and a good singer. they were almost on the verge of being a pop act in some of their songs, but i think they were good. |

Related to the max. The Dead... Bob Weir - Guitar, Vocals* Billy Kreutzmann - Drums* Mickey Hart - Drums* Phil Lesh - Bass, Vocals* Warren Haynes - Guitar, Vocals Rob Barraco - Keyboard, Vocals Jimmy Herring - Guitar Jeff Chimenti - Keyboard *Original Member |
oh ok, so do they actually tour, or just do festivals? like is there any chance of them coming within a couple thousand miles of me?
edit- and im just wondering, the guitar player, jimmy herrring, is there actually 3 r's in his name, or is that a typo? |
They tour, and may release an album. Most bands do.
And no, there's 2 R's. |

Yea my friend got to go to that. He did some LSD and some guy named Papa Bear was feeding them all pancakes. |
oh nice, i'd wanna hear their newer stuff.
i'm trying to convince this girl i sometimes play with to learn Friend of the Devil, so we can play it at an upcoming show, but she's very reluctant. |

They have no newer stuff, yet. |
Yea my friend got to go to that. He did some LSD and some guy named Papa Bear was feeding them all pancakes.
Actually, he was probably lying on the ground unconcsious the whole time. |

That can happen on LSD. |
What's everyone's views on Dire Straits? They were sorta 80s popish but they had some nice songs that were very catchy.
|
Dire Straits, i haven't heard much, but Mark Knopfler is a great guitarist.
and we aren't playing Friend of the Devil. We are playing Let it Be instead, which is stupid because we have three guitarists, so now i've gotta find a way to fit them all into the song creatively. And apparently Hotel California isn't cool enough for her. I'm in a big mood right now. edit- **** i mean bad mood. this sucks. i cant even type. |
And how would you play "Friend of the Devil" with three guitarists?
|
It would be a lot better sounding than Let it Be, i can tell you that much. I'm just sick of this girl wanting to play crappy pop songs with one guitar part, and then asking me to fancy it up for three different guitars.
edit- i can hear two guitars very distinctly in Friend of the Devil, and a mandolin. Someone could just play chords, or someone could play the mandolin part, it would be easy. |
And apparently Hotel California isn't cool enough for her. I'm in a big mood right now.
