Yeah, I like that album a lot.
|
Thanks for the help guys, now my next task will be finding stuff from these bands.
It sucks that most of the really awesome thrash bands aren't still active. |
Is the band Wehrmacht worth checking out?
|
Yeah, they're great crossover. Really fucking fast.
Get Shark Attack. |
Blasting-Zone.com: What are your current touring plans? Cronos: "Quite a lot, actually. We've always believed that people didn't want see VENOM if we didn't have the show. It just seems that so many people's opinions have changed because there are some many places where VENOM has never been. Not all of our fans can travel a thousand ****in' miles to come see us. It just seems so odd that after twenty five years, there a just so many places that we've never even been. It's time for us to open our ears and take in a little bit of what's going on around us. We've got a lot of festival dates lined up and of course we're gonna do all the pyro and the whole shebang, but I think we should also try to do some of these other concerts as well, just to see how it goes. Some kid who can barely afford the price of the ticket can't come a long way to come see us. We're gonna try to get the best of both worlds when it comes to playin' live. One of the things that has been getting' talked about is a tour of the States with VENOM, SLAYER and EXODUS. How cool would that be? When people start talkin' about things like that, things they haven't seen in forever, we're just like, 'Get SLAYER on the phone so we can set it up...'"
=O Just like in '85... That wouls be awesome, The Ultimate Revenge is a bloody awesome video. |

If Ticketmaster is correct, they will also be playing here in Los Angeles on my birthday :O
That would be the sweetest 19th birthday gift ever. I hope it's true. |
Indeed it would!
Sodom are awesome. The new album will hopefully deliver the goods. |
Hey everyone
Municipal waste was killer!! they headlined and their set was only 1h 20mins if that lol stil they pretty much played everything theyve done indeed a great gig. next up anthrax :D Recently got hold of mekong delta - the music of eric zann at first i wasnt keen but im getting into it more and more now also there is not enough talk of helstar on here! \m/ |
Helstar are great. Nosferatu is awesome.
and I would kill to see the Waste live :-D |
My favorite thrash riffs are the ones that are really fast and have catchy little licks at the end of them, or the really punishing single note palm-muted ones.
|
I've never actually thought about what kind of Thrash riffs I like.
|
I like the ones that possess your neck and cause servere headthrashing to ensue.
|
I like the ones that possess your neck and cause severe headthrashing to ensue.
Yeah, those are quite good too. :D |
Helstar are great. Nosferatu is awesome.
and I would kill to see the Waste live :-D
Def def. What are some other bands similar to them? |

|
Def def. What are some other bands similar to them?
Helstar or Municipal?? if its helstar then Heathen arent too far off worth checking out metal church as well older stuff is personally my favourite if you can get hold of Helstar - Remnants of war, do so. if it was municipal check out dri crucial unit [personally they suck imo], cryptic slaughter |
Yeh, I was talking about Helstar. Thanks, though I'm already familar with Heathen and Metal Church.
|
New Sodom has leaked, and I'm downloading a track from it now.
|
Speaking of Sodom. I decided to rip In The Sign of Evil onto my computer and it only has 5 tracks, yet Darklyrics.com shows 8.
|
Metal-Archives says 5 tracks. The version I downloaded has 8 tracks.
The extra tracks are the Intro, Outro and the Outro to Witching Metal. I don't know what to think of the new Sodom song I heard. It has a really cool dark atmosphere in parts, but it's mid-paced and the riffs aren't that great, it also has quite a few time changes and really good drumming. The intro owns though, great acoustic stuff. This is only one song though. I want to hear the rest. Here is what some guy who has heard the whole thing said
The production is very good and clear, definately not digital/pro tools. I thik this is a major step up from the sometimes mushy sound of some previous albums. Bobby's drumsound has improved a lot! no cardboard box sounding bassdrums and no uncontrolled hi hat anymore! The guitar tone is less distorted and clearer, sounds tighter than ever before. Tom's basssound varies between his early distorted sound and his later clean sound dependent on the song. The vocals have never been so diverse, most of the time it's just good old Tom but he tries to add different accents here and there which is a very good thing IMO. The songwriting is the best I have heard from SODOM, they didn't just try to make an "M-16" ripoff but like always just went their own way which I thik is what kept them alive and still relevant after all these years. I would dare say this is the most progressive album SODOM has ever done and it's hard to compare it to any of their older albums.
|
What's the song called? And did you just downlaod from a p2p program?
|
The song is called Blood On Your Lips. I got it from the Exodus forum.
|
I got that song off the Destruction Forums. Killer tune, really dark atmosphere.
|
This new sodom is sounding intresting :D
"The songwriting is the best I have heard from SODOM" "The guitar tone is less distorted and clearer, sounds tighter than ever before" :D:D i know he also said its not an m-16 rip off but if its anything near as good as it then its going to be a brillaint album maybe even one of the albums of the year you never know...depending when maiden and heathen get round to releasing :P |
Kreator today!!! I'm going to bootleg the show. If anyone wants to hear it, let me know. I'll post it up.
|
I'm interested in hearing that bootleg.
Jon: Sounds good! Sodom never disappoint, in my opinion. They may have their mediocre phases, but never outright suck. |
I'm downloading the whole thing now.
