I like the one is the essential clash booklet. I'll see if I can find it and edit this to put it in...

EDIT: I can't find it, but oh well. Apparently I replaced it accidently with a pic of me playing bass :(

But I found one I like a lot from clash photorockers

Forest_Fire 04-05-2005 03:42 PM

In the last one, what does it say on the arm of paul's jacket? Creative Violence?

Coma_Girl 04-05-2005 04:22 PM

i cant read really well...but it think it says creative violence

CombatRock 04-05-2005 04:26 PM

in the last one what kind of bass is that paul has..its not his rickenbacker or his fender?

TheNowhereman42 04-05-2005 05:13 PM

It looks like if Fender combined a P-bass with a telecaster

Forest_Fire 04-05-2005 05:27 PM

Thats crazy

CombatRock 04-05-2005 05:35 PM

but look at the head stock..its not a fender head stock

TheNowhereman42 04-05-2005 05:37 PM

might be a foriegn bass he borrowed for the picture, check out the spelling of November, he was probably in another country at the time

TheNowhereman42 04-05-2005 05:38 PM

Some crazy french make

sketchyjoe 04-05-2005 05:48 PM

If it was in '76 then they wouldn't have been in another country.

TheNowhereman42 04-05-2005 05:51 PM

then why does it say Novembre?

CombatRock 04-05-2005 05:58 PM

cos clashcityphotos is a french site and that is were the pic came from

TheNowhereman42 04-05-2005 06:02 PM

Coma_Girl 04-05-2005 07:39 PM

I finished the book.So here's a little review.

Let Fury Have The Hour: The Punk Rock Politics Of Joe Strummer.

It's a great book...it explains really well the impact the clash and joe had on people from all generations and society. It's articles, essays (sp?) and interviews with Joe.There's also an interview the clash did with sniffin' glue back in 77.It's pretty interesting, and I learned a lot of things. It talks a lot about politics (the name of the book...) and society in the 70s.Joe's philosophy was the best...We should call it Strummerism... :p

we talked about how joe is in heaven if it exists, and if joe believed in heaven...in one of the interviews the interviewer asks Joe "well, you dedicated your last album to Joey Ramone, where do you think he is now?"
Joe: "in heaven"
interviewer: "you believe in heaven?"
Joe: "maybe not for me, but for Joey Ramone, sure!"

TheNowhereman42 04-05-2005 07:41 PM

you should write a longer review and post it as a book review thread, don't think we've had one of those before, as being litarate isn't punk

sketchyjoe 04-05-2005 07:42 PM

There is a Literature thread.

Coma_Girl 04-05-2005 07:46 PM

i dont really feel like writing a whole review right now.

i forgot something...if you dont cry while you read this, you dont have a heart.Joe was so nice to everyone, I cried at every chapters. It's not sad...it's just beautiful to read what people had to say about him.really touching.(woah i think i just made a really bad translation of 'touchant' and it probably means something else than what i want to say)

CombatRock 04-05-2005 08:05 PM

your sure liked this book...im going to pick it up!! (as soon as i get money)
how much did you pay for ir?

sketchyjoe 04-05-2005 08:11 PM

I must admit I was welling up the first time I heard Johnny and Joe do Redemption Song.

CombatRock 04-05-2005 08:19 PM

guns_of_brixton 04-05-2005 08:22 PM
It looks like if Fender combined a P-bass with a telecaster
A Rickenbacker? That's my best guess.

And I'm also going to get Let Fury Have the Hour when I get money.

Coma_Girl 04-05-2005 08:36 PM

hmm good question.he would be proud to see what his thread has become.

hey...do you guys think it's okay to post my mescaleros profil on the punk forum even if the mescaleros are not really punk?

guns_of_brixton 04-05-2005 08:41 PM

Absolutely. Anything with Joe Strummer is at least somewhat punk. But on second thought you might want to ask a mod in the Questions/Problems Thread.

Coma_Girl 04-05-2005 08:42 PM

i'll ask someone to correct all my mistakes before. And I'm sure theres a lot cause my english is lame.

guns_of_brixton 04-05-2005 08:45 PM

Your English isn't lame Andy. About half of the people on this site's posts are impossible to read.
