Wow...never have I heard such blasphemy. I think you're terribly wrong. YOu see many people only heard of them after they split up, like me. So those people were only left with their live DVD's which nearly as good as the actual show. I'm not asking for another CD, I just want to see them live.

Shaft! 10-08-2005 01:08 PM

I don't think I'm wrong because I think Zack believes that.

blue3 10-10-2005 01:44 AM

I finally got 'Battle of Los Angeles' today. Awesome album.

What would be the best three songs of RATM for Drums??
What would be the best three songs of RATM for Drums??
bulls on parade is really fun to play on drums

Mambuto_O'Mally 10-10-2005 08:01 AM

Freedom is good and maybe Vietnow.

frmautumTOashes 10-10-2005 08:45 AM

People of the Sun sounds fun to play on drums, but I'm not a drummer so I don't know.

Bass_ment 10-10-2005 08:56 AM

Just to throw in my two cents, I don't think that Rage will ever get back together again. There would be no purpose because both Zack and Tom (the most politically active) are both allready pursuing political goals without using the band.

If they got back together again it would just be to tour. and hey I absolutely loved seeing Black Sabbath live, but quite honestly, when you get to the point that you are a reunion band, you do lose a lot of your relevance to anyone who is not a fan. It would be great to see them live, but Rage were never just about touring. And if their members can't be allowed to attempt something different then they will simply fade into the background with thier legions of fans, but without the means or importance to make their message truly heard.

Darkness 10-10-2005 10:29 AM

Ghost of Tom Joad has some thrashy drums.

laba 10-10-2005 03:38 PM

Thanks for the replies, I personally like playing Killing In The Name as it has an 8bar solo...any other less popular Rage songs that have Drum Solos?

Shaft! 10-10-2005 06:20 PM

Thank you. I feel the same way.
The analogy was quite clever, as well.

I actually agreed with you, but on this part that would be good. It would take away all the posers who are there because of the trend and leave all the true fans. Still good post.

miketommorellofan 10-11-2005 03:51 AM

rage against the machine are my fave band and i listen to every album but sometimes my opinions fluctuate in what i think of as the best.

ST - classics all the way, its got a great rawness to it but sometimes i feel that the production could have been better but as far as one of the greatest debut albums go its no 1 in my opinion

evil empire - brilliant album its in my opinion zach seems to be at his most angry which is great i think tom was amazingly creative using the allen key liste to the solo to snakecharmer

renegades - truly amazing i know a lot of people havent heard it coz its a cover album its more than that its not just a cover album its rage making the songs they love rage it unbelievable. the production on renegades is amzing it is an amzing album. highlights for how i could just kill a man, renegades of funk, in my eyes, the lot its brilliant.

the battle of los angeles - what an album how can people say they dont like this album. the only thing in my opinion is that the first seven tracks are some of the greatest i have heard but the rest arent on the same level which is disappointing still good though.

i think it has to be ST at the moment

laba 10-11-2005 01:59 PM

Self Titled just has so many great classics. But you can't just have one album, all of them are great for different reasons. Which DVD is their best? I have seen three different ones..

Mambuto_O'Mally 10-11-2005 02:14 PM

Out of Mexico City and Grand Olympic, Mexico city is the best. I haven't seen the s/t one yet.

Darkness 10-11-2005 06:13 PM

Bad news, boys and girls.

At Zacks show last Friday, (see the thread on zdlr.net for details) a guy at the Tom Morello porject website said he met up with Zack and talked to him for a bit. Zack stated that he's just going to live a normal life playing small shows here and there around L.A, and that there will be NO SOLO ALBUM. Tell your friends.

Mambuto_O'Mally 10-11-2005 09:40 PM

Is he giving up on politics then? I'm confused now. Anyway, In My Eyes is an awesome track. I'm listening to Renegades right now.:thumb:

Darkness 10-11-2005 09:55 PM

No, just the album.

But I also just received word that this could be false information, that may have come from his fake myspace. So we'll see... only time will tell...

Dead 10-11-2005 10:02 PM

Every time I listen to Rage I want to start jumping with the song. Not much music makes me want to do that!

blue3 10-11-2005 10:08 PM

Yeah. I wake up to Rage songs.

ibanez_line6 10-12-2005 03:11 AM

Rage is so god**** funky that everytime i play it i am bouncing off the walls in funkiness, and i convinced my girlfriend to like them

Bass_ment 10-12-2005 09:05 AM

But the message would be limited, they would be preaching to the converted.

If they were gonna get together, I would say that the best thing would be to do a one off show, for a charity or in support of a cause, do it in a huge venue to, like where they held Rock in Rio, so that they could bring as many people as they could.

As for cause I'd saying restoring the democratic government in Burma is a good one. Perhaps Tibet.

A pig in a cage on antibiotics 10-12-2005 02:49 PM

I would definatly be for RATM coming back together for one last tour, i can't see it happenin for another few years though. I've never seen them live, (I was 13 when they played their last concert :upset: ). I'd eat a Babboons *** to see them live and im REALLY Pis*ed off that i didnt see audioslave when they came this year, it'd be the closest thing to RATM. please tell me Audioslave are **** live coz i didn't go because it was a festival and they were the only good band, and i wasnt gonna pay €120 to see them unless it was gonna be REALLY good.

So i think that if RATM got back for a tour it'd give all the people who never got to see them live in the flesh a chance to cum their pants!! I know i would  !!!

Darkness 10-12-2005 07:29 PM

Audioslave are incredible live. No joke.

Mambuto_O'Mally 10-12-2005 09:32 PM

You've said many times. But they still aren't RATM. They never have or will be. They are two different bands. Tom, Tim, and Brad can't stess that enough.

Darkness 10-12-2005 09:35 PM

Yep, their not RATM. They are Audioslave. A mainstream rock band that produces a sound that is JUST as easily rock-out-able as Rage.

Mambuto_O'Mally 10-12-2005 09:40 PM

See if the band wouldn't have split up there would be more to talk about. I think this thread is done. All the things to talk about have been said about 50 times, and now we're just arguing. I think some of us aren't even on speaking terms. I gues you are what you listen to, eh?

Darkness 10-12-2005 09:42 PM

This thread was done about 20 pages ago..

And RATM was done about 5 years ago, this time.

Mambuto_O'Mally 10-12-2005 09:43 PM

Well, I bid farewell. See you guys around.

DonMancini 10-12-2005 09:54 PM

This thread still exists 0_o can't believe it.

Bass_ment 10-13-2005 07:40 AM

well exists yes. Its not exactly living.

Its kind of a thread thats been put into an elderly home, content to mutter to itself about the same old things while proceeding with the same old routine day in and day out, forgotten by its family and oblivious none the less.

dr._feelgood 10-22-2005 11:35 AM

The Rage Thread is now back from the dead.

blue3 10-25-2005 12:48 AM

Not really.

I bought Renegades for my friend's birthday gift and she didn't like it. I liked it though.

Mambuto_O'Mally 11-26-2005 08:52 PM

Well, I have a very important question. What does it say under the visor on Tom's 'Unite!' hat?

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-26-2005 08:59 PM
Is he giving up on politics then? I'm confused now. Anyway, In My Eyes is an awesome track. I'm listening to Renegades right now.:thumb:
That's probably my favorite song from Renegades, probably because it's so different.

Mambuto_O'Mally 11-27-2005 10:14 PM

So nobody knows what it says under the visor of Tom's 'Unite!' hat.
:upset:

2muchket! 11-28-2005 10:58 AM

No chance on a RATM comeback I hope Zack De La Rocha's solo album is good. As for this thread, I think it's personally done, even thought myself I've just gottne in to rage this year. Yes them an Tool are amazing.

Mambuto_O'Mally 11-28-2005 03:34 PM

Actually, Zach isn't releasing a solo album. For info check a couple of pages back.

laba 11-29-2005 12:14 AM

What is your fave RATM DVD? I got all three...they are all good to me.

blue3 11-29-2005 12:22 AM

I have none.. I'm hoping for a RATM DVD for Christmas or something. Which one is best?
