hah..i never pass up a good pit. Im usually in there 95 percent of the time. I passed out from heat exaustion once. woke up about 10 minutes later, saw that the band was playing one of my favorite songs, and went right back in the pit. haha.

Culture Shock 01-21-2006 11:16 AM
Where did you get tour dates?
I didn't. I just saw that shows were posted at local venues.

Haha, what was his name? I remember it started with mosh, but I can't remember. Did he read some scroll he had with him?

Subvert_bassist 01-21-2006 12:47 PM

I don't remember his name, either. But yeah, he had a scroll, and a wizard's cane.

They're playing Sac, too. I dunno if BORN/DEAD is playing with them here, but I know BORN/DEAD is playing with us in February.

RetiredAt21 01-21-2006 03:27 PM

Who do you guys prefer, Tragedy or His Hero Is Gone? I myself prefer His Hero Is Gone, but only by a very small margin.

To each their own.

Anyways, I was listening to the new Hellshock LP, and GOD DAMN! This record is so fucking awesome. They have yet to dissapoint me, and they were my highlight from going to Chaos in Tejas last summer. Awesome band on record and live. I don't see em mentioned too much in here, so check em out!

Subvert_bassist 01-22-2006 11:39 AM

Subvert_bassist 01-23-2006 10:25 AM

Anyone ever heard Dudman? Japanese grind. They just played in Berkeley (in the Super Sabado fest), and they did a split with Bathtub ****ter. Heeeeela good.

dirtyfrank 01-23-2006 12:13 PM
Oh, and to clarify about Siege and any releases they had, they had 0 releases. They released three songs, "Cold War," "Sad but True" and "Wall," on a compilation called Cleanse the Bacteria which is the only official release they ever did. They recorded a demo tape with their other 6 songs on it. They broke up some time after that, and the tape got bootlegged as a 7" called Drop Dead, probably from the first name. Thier three songs from that comp. also got bootlegged as a split 7" with Deep Wound. Relapse remastered the songs in 1994 or something and released it as a CD. Last year Deep Six released it as an LP. Like Major General Despair said, they reformed briefly in the early 90s with Seth Putnam on vocals instead of Kevin Mahoney. It all fell apart and probably for the better.
The Drop Dead cassette, which was named later, probably by one of the bootleggers, wasn't a demo at all. It could be looked at as one, but at the time, it was the only release they could afford. Vinyl was "too expensive" so they opted to put out a cassette release, hoping money would be made to either press some vinyl or record new songs. The cassettes sold out. I don't remember exactly how many were made, but they sold out and chose not to make any more. This was actually an official release at the time.
Cleanse the Bacteria came next and the three songs were done for that.
After that, it's all boots.
It's amazing that after 20 years, Siege is still looked upon with such reverence, man I'm happy to have know those guys and in some small way, played a part.

Yeah, for a band with very few songs, they made a pretty big impact.

Scabies 01-23-2006 04:13 PM

RetiredAt21 01-23-2006 06:18 PM

haha, I'm surprised ye didn't know what it was called. The name is the chaos star. Most political (or just crusty) grind bands tend to use that star. not too sure why. but as for phobia based tats, i wanna get this: http://punkstuff.com/done/PHOBIA_INGRINDWECRUST.gif

DaveToopes 01-23-2006 08:44 PM

I just got a From Ashes Rise album. They're REAL good.
