jsut pick up a metal garbage lid from home depot or something. |
^^ not very good on it's own IMO. Sounds kinda bland. You should stack it on a crash. And I've heard bad stories about them cracking prematurely.
|
the fact that they are not ound would make me thing zildjian should rethink the idea.
you can find trashy round cymbals anywhere....i beleive the unroundedness allows for uneven dispersal of vibration which would cause cracking. |
Whats a nice pingy ride in the AA or AAX line?
|
AA Rock ride would be the best choice....other than that, my AAX Dry ride is fairly pingy.
Ultimate ping? AAX Metal ride...but its as versatile as a Z Custom |
Ya I still want versitle. What about the medium-heavy ride you suggested in my thread. How does that sound?
|
Hey does anybody know how much guitar center buys cymbals for i have a set of B8's that i would like to get rid of. Thanks

it'll be a bit more defined and tighter than the medium ride, but will sound a bit more pleasant than the rock ride.
Hey does anybody know how much guitar center buys cymbals for i have a set of B8's that i would like to get rid of. Thanks
they probably will, but dont expect much form them...you'd be better off selling privately. |

wont get much for them. you might as well keep them or sell them but not to a place that buys them, youll get jipped. put them on ebay or something. or just put up a classifieds add. |
^^^
yes...thanks for pretty much repeating what i said. |
^^ Dont GC give 2$ an inch? That might be more than he could get selling on ebay.
|
Sup felluz...In the near future I will be able to have both my kits up, my DW collector and Mapex Oroin series classic, teh only prob being I only have one set of cymbals...my Paistes. Now I fairly picky when it comes to cymbals...I usually don't don't like sabians...but I am really interested in thier Evolution series with weckl. I own the ozone crash and the effeckz crash...I've played a few of the crashes and really really liked them. Now before I have to drive for god knows how many hours to find a place I can test out a few others...
Have any of you any experience with them, hats, splashes, rides and such, are they alll sonically the same to the crashes??? thanks in advance. |
They are good cymbals. Not my style, but they sound pretty nice.
If you like Paiste, look into Meinl. If I'm not mistaken, they resemble Paiste in sound. |
the evos all revolve around that concept of VERY sensitve respose meshed with warm tones....having said that, they are all quite thin...save for the hats, which is your normal medium/heavy pairing.
also, it wouldnt be a bad idea to look into the rest of the HHX line too. |
hello, i'm upgrading my drum kit in the next few weeks and chances are that the new one will be a shell pack so i am going to have to start fresh with the cymbals, i've been looking at several "packs" of hi-hats and crash/ride combos. Can anyone recommend a good one to go for?
thanks nango |

thanks nango
what's you budget? if you have cymbals i'd suggest saving and not buying packs, but thats me |
i would not go with a crash/ride cymbal, you're better off with a seperate crash and ride
|
budget please?
|
If he's looking at packs w/ crash-rides, his budget it probably low.
Anyway, I'll suggest K Constanioples. |

I just bought a 21" A Custom Projection Ride. I used to own a ZBT. I am having trouble adjusting to the A. It seems like I can't get very much sound out of it. Maybe the ZBT had more wash to it, hence gave it a fuller sound. I guess I'm looking for some ride suggestions. I'm going to guitar center tomorrow to try some out; any suggestions I should pay special attention to? Maybe something with a LITTLE bit more wash than the A Custom Projection?
Thanks |
i thought an a projeciton ride woudl give almost too much wash....
anywho try an A ping ride, I have a 20" model and it has a lot of undertones. Maybe try an A rock ride as well. If your still not satsified, perhaps a Z 22" mega bell ride will have that full sound your after :p |
^^ they dont make it in 22 inch, only 21
|
Ah I'm thinking of the power ride.
