The Ripper is my favorite Priest song.

Josh 10-31-2006 03:23 PM

how many of you guys have got Unleashed In The East, out of interest? i love Genocide, although i don't know what album it's from originally.

pate 10-31-2006 03:43 PM

I have Unleashed from the Studio. :p

Genocide is from Sad Wings.

Josh 10-31-2006 03:46 PM

and your point is? :p
i like the live album, it got me into Priest a lot more than listening to British Steel and Stained Glass, but i don't know why, because i bought Painkiller a while ago and loved it.

pate 10-31-2006 03:48 PM

Overall, the old songs are much better than new IMO. I suppose that would be why you liked it more.

Josh 10-31-2006 03:49 PM

quite possibly, yeh. i like the sound they have on that album as well. it was Genocide that really got me hooked though, with that intro riff.

hellrider 10-31-2006 05:55 PM

I have the angle of retribution and it is a great album favorite songs would have to be Hellrider, judas rising, angel and lochness it is truly a great album

-The Frank 11-01-2006 03:21 AM

I never liked judas rising that much.....

Apocalyptic Raids 11-01-2006 03:23 AM

Judas Rising is one of the better tracks off AOR, I think.

-The Frank 11-01-2006 03:26 AM

Meh, that track just never caught me i guess.....

pate 11-01-2006 09:39 AM

It's kind of simplistic, but I like it.

Deth 11-01-2006 09:14 PM

I love it. Most great Priest is pretty simplistic anyway really.

hellrider 11-02-2006 11:35 AM

thats because all great song are simple

pate 11-02-2006 11:45 AM

Not true.

TojesDolan 11-02-2006 11:51 AM

Demonizer is also a great song. Overall it's an entertaining album. Except for Angel, maybe, which is too soft... and Judas Priest are not meant to be that soft.

>:- [

OK I tried beign the least rusty metalhead I could but it's impossible.

loathed 11-02-2006 11:52 AM

Woahh, i just heard my first piece of Judas Priest. I must say i'm impressed. I never expected the vocals to be so high pitched, and i totally dig the melodic riffs.

:)

pate 11-02-2006 12:00 PM

I like Angel.

MetalPhreak 11-02-2006 03:28 PM

judas priest has to be the worst band ever. I mean, there lead singer is a homo, it can't get any worse than that.

Deth 11-02-2006 05:46 PM

Bah! Every Priest album has a ballad (bar Painkiller) and the great majority of them are great. I love Angel.

Beyond the Realms of Death ftw.

pate 11-02-2006 11:10 PM

That's like my second favorite Priest song. It owned live.

Quiksilver26 11-02-2006 11:48 PM

For sure, one of the best sets I've seen was the Reunited tour (that song was one of the highlights for me). Hell I think it was even the cheapest show too. $14, Priest and Slayer :amaze::amaze::amaze:

Riva 11-03-2006 03:38 AM

Now that is a nice price for a concert.

Better than $150 for Roger Waters. Even though I was still going to pay that. :(

pate 11-03-2006 09:42 AM

I paid $75 for Priest and Anthrax.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-03-2006 09:50 AM

I paid $65 for Megadeth and Dungeon, and $40 for Behemoth, Psycroptic and Hobbs' Angel of Death.

I'd pay $150 for Roger Waters, if I had it :(
Dickinson > Halford = Mercury

IMO, no-one touches Dickinson.

Good call, it has much better versions of the songs as well as production.
Something else we agree on? :p

Halford > Dickinson
Dickinson now > Halford now

Halford in his prime >>>> Dickinson at his best

Deth 12-02-2006 01:41 PM

I'd agree to that. The problem for Halford is that Priest stuff is so vocally demanding, so he can't really do it all now. Brucey's stuff doesn't put such a strain on his voice.

I think Defenders of the Faith may be my favorite Priest album now. Discuss.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-02-2006 06:42 PM

I like Defenders, but the muddy production annoys me.

Next time this thread dies we should make a new one. I know there are more Priest fans than Deth, Riva, Rrrrrr and myself.

MattyBlade 12-02-2006 08:11 PM

^^^ Me :D
Beyond the Realms of Death ftw.
I'll be damned, here comes your ghost again.

Diamonds and rust ftw.

Otisbum 12-02-2006 08:57 PM

I'm playing 'Living After Midnight' tommorow in a cover band. Easy song, pretty cool.
Other than that, I'm not into these guys.
