What would you recommend for me to listen? I like poppy stuff like Alexisonfire, From First To Last, A Static Lullaby, and Saosin , but I'm into the Fall Of Troy ( my favorite band ) ForDireLifeSake, Hot Cross, ATDI, The Kinison, a bit of Converge... Any bands you know that might follow those lines?
Oh, and where could I find The Fall Of Troy songs? I've only I Got This Symphony Goin', Ghostship pt. 4 and Rockstar Nailbomb... I also heard Tom Waits from their site, along with another I don't remember. And what would you classify ATDI under? Post-emo indie rock? |

I've got their EP :D ), Glory Of This, A Thorn For Every Heart, Albert React, No Hollywood Ending, When Reason Sleeps, Yesterday's Rising, The Tokyo Smash, A taste For Murder, Anthym, The Sound Of Animals Fighting, Before Today, Beloved, Life In Your Way, Nor Am I, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, The Pheonix Rising, The Receiving End Sirens. Some of that's probably a stretch, I was going for that "Pop-punk + some heaviness thing" Most of them have purevolumes. I've got most of their full albums or EPs, AIM for that too. |
Try some Envy, Ghosts(formery an embrace of angels) is pretty good too, A Day in Black and White, Saetia, Trophy Scars, oh and Richard Cheese :thumb:

An Embrace Of Angels is awesome. Ghosts is meh, from what I've heard. |
The Receiving End Sirens.
*The Receiving End Of Sirens /bitch ++ |
Envy are soooo good. Japanese screamo, I love it.
*The Receiving End Of Sirens
/bitch ++
I used to talk to this stupid chick on AIM that lives in Massachusetts, and she was friends with their singer. I don't know if they still are, but she showed me them when they first got together and they sounded like a complete GlassJAw wannabe. Apparently he punched her too. Normally I'm against stuff like that but once again she was a stupid whore so it's cool. |
I enjoy them. They're coming around here sometime soon.
|
cool, thanks to all who answered my question...btw dfelon, i saw u mention earlier on the thread that fourfa has the evolution of emo after 1994 all wrong...would u care 2 elaborate?
|
is anyone into the saddest landscape? that is definitely emo.
|
In regards to bands like Underoath and Hawthorne Heights, a DJ around here called them "mainscream." Thought that was nifty.
|
i hate hate hate hate hate hawthorne heights.
|
i hate hate hate hate hate hawthorne heights.
I see them all the time on that commercial for Victory records, where the singer looks like he's about to cry as he yelps "I can't make on my own/ cause my heart is inohwahyeah" or whatever. |

of all the bands in that genre full of clones, hawthorne heights became huge, amazing. i really couldnt believe it. |
There's this pseudo-emo kid that works in the stock room of the store I work at. Every time I'm back there he's blasting the new Underoath or Hawthorne Heights. We talked once:
"That's new Underoath, isn't it?" "yeah" "Eww" *walks away* |
the only thing worse than a pseudo-metal kid is pseudo-emo kid
|
pseudo-metal kids are at least funny. pseudo-emo kids are boring.
|
Umm. Samiam isn't emo. Hot Water Music isn't emo. Where's the information about Saetia? Stuff like that.
i see |
My chemical romance

Here, Alexisonfire is really the big thing... And every pseudo-emo knows Atreyu and From Autumn To Ashes.
My chemical romance from first to last underoath some bands you should hear!
I think FFTL is a great band, especially live, but this isn't the thread for them. |
This kid is cool.
|
me?
I've started digging up the bands I've been suggested, and OMG it'refreshing to breathe into some new sounds. I've been listening to the same bands over and over with my friends for a long time now... The Prisoner's Dilemma is definitely nice, Plans for Revenge as well, I already knew acrossfiveaprils, and I really like Circa Survive... Is this Anthony Green's third band? He was in Saosin and the Sound of Animals Fighting, right? |
Usually the kids that listen to bands like Alexisonfire, etc. are complete morons. You're all jiggy.
|
That's not true. Don't be a moron. But Alexisonfire sucks.
|
I like Alexisonfire. They put on a great show.
|
My chemical romance
from first to last underoath some bands you should hear!
really? cool, I'll have to check those bands out!!! alexisonfire is really good though. I like George's style of screaming. He doesn't grunt like in metalcore. There's no emotion in that type of screaming. The vocals in bands like FATA and Atreyu getting annoying sometimes. Yeah, I know my user name is FATA, but I'm starting to not like them as much. |
That's not true. Don't be a moron. But Alexisonfire sucks.
No, imposing your opinions like they're absolute sucks. :thumb: I'm really loving Yesterday's Rising. Doesn't keep me from loving it :) |
