i dozed off and was day dreaming as much as i could at school the day of the concert, made it go by a little quicker
I plan to do that in two of my three classes.

The other I really need to pay attention in, haha.

I still can't wait though

[U]I can't really pick a list of 20 because i haven't heard all their songs..all I can say is that I love every song that I heard so far! I think they are a really amazing band that kick a**! And someone once told me about their concerts and it sounds so f***ing fun!
It pisses me off sometimes when people say "they suck" or "all they do is yell and swear" because they don't really look deep inside the lyrics to understand where they are coming from. All I want to say is keep an open mind about music because you may miss their message.

I've already seen his solo on the DVD. It was pretty awesome.
ok, next question, cuz the first one kind of died

whats their best remix?

i'd say SPIT IT OUT (Overcaffeinated remix) on the Wait and Bleed single
I would have to sgree with you on that one

The JoZ 03-17-2005 07:21 PM

The Hyper remix of Spit It Out is better than the original IMO.

Sleeper 03-17-2005 08:11 PM

Yeh, I really like the remixes on that cd. The terry date version of Wait and bleed was great.

I would like to second that. The Wait and Bleed remix was better too.

They do have their DVD scheduled for June 12th though.

Or July 12th. One of those.

Sleeper 03-18-2005 03:18 PM

The JoZ 03-18-2005 11:27 PM

Wellll I just got home from our leg of the Subliminal Verses tour. Sorry, but this concert was better than Metallica and Godsmack without a doubt :D

All That Remains opened up...they played, I dunno, 5 or 6 songs...none of which I know the names to...well, they played one that's got a video on Launch, but the name escapes me right now. Short set, but good.

Shadows Fall was up next, and things got busted wide open, including my mouth...ok that's a bit of an overstatement, but I did bleed from my tongue a bit after getting smacked around in a pit during "The Power of I and I". Their setlist included "The Power of I and I", "Inspiration on Demand", "Enlightened by the Cold", "Destroyer of the Senses", two or three other songs I don't remember, and they closed with "What Drives The Weak". Very good show, Brian was very energetic on stage...he spun around often, and with his dreads, looked like a freaking helicopter was about to take off.

Lamb of God was up next, and they definetly tore the house down, breaking right out with "Laid to Rest", followed by "Hourglass". Randy definetly took a little time out to remind us that they were basically home (Since this concert was in Hampton, VA, and they are from Richmond). They also played "Now You've Got Something To Die For"...several other older songs...and closed out with "Black Label". No Wall of Death, but there was a pretty big pit going.

Slipknot came on, and if the roof hadn't been blown off yet, they sure did it. "Prelude 3.0" played over the PA before they ripped into "The Blister Exists" for an opening track. I honestly don't really remember much of their track order, because I was occupied (see side note at the end) but I know they played a varied, and very good set...including, in no particular order, "Before I Forget", "Vermilion", "Duality", "Get This", "Disasterpiece", "The Heretic Anthem", "Left Behind", "Liberate", "Pulse of the Maggots", "The Nameless", "Spit It Out" (complete with patented Jump the f*ck up section), "Wait and Bleed" (complete with crowd singing of opening chorus, with Paul conducting), "Everything Ends" and of course, they ended with "Surfacing". I don't really think anyone could've asked them for a better set...they played old stuff, new stuff, and all of it was great stuff. I'm very glad I got to see them. I have to hand it to Chris though...as most probably know, Shawn isn't part of the tour anymore so he could be with his wife who's ill...so Chris had to go it alone in terms of extra percussion and backup vocals. He did a hell of a job by himself...and he even had a little help from Sid on like two songs (Surfacing being one) who grabbed a pair of sticks and started playing on Shawn's kit, which was still set up, and had his mask there, to symbolize their absent brother. And Chris' leg is still healing too, cause he left the stage with crutches...but still managed to move around on stage a bit without them. A for the band, and A+ to Chris for the extra effort.

So, I might not have exactly gotten my butt kicked in the pits, but I did my fair share...at least during the first three sets. During Slipknot's set...I was...for lack of a better term, a bodyguard to this nice young lady who wanted to have fun, but did not want to fall down and get trampled on. I told her I'd protect her, basically, and make sure she didn't fall. In the process, I was pretty close with her...and during one song, she even took it upon herself to...ah...do a little dirty dancing, if you catch my drift.

...The bad part about that was, however, a little later, she told me her husband was up in the stands. Ouch. Talk about a buzzkill...:upset:

...But married women aside, it was still a great night. I highly recommend anyone who can catch them on this tour to do so. You won't be disappointed.

Sleeper 03-18-2005 11:40 PM

Wow thanks for the review, Sounds like a amazing concert. I find it cool that sid did some percussion.

Dr3w182 03-18-2005 11:54 PM

ye man it does sound better then the one i went to lol cuz the lead singer from...i think unearth lost his voice...NO killswitch Engage's lead singer lost his voice so ye but when SlipKnoT got on stage it was total [Sic]ness man...lol i nearly died in the mosh pits cuz im small haha and my friend got crushed by a fat guy that was surfing...the best part was when corey told us to get the **** down and jump the **** up when he was singing SPIT IT OUT...and raising our middle fingers in the air...amazing...never forget that concert lol it was WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better then goin to a Raptors basketball game LOL

The JoZ 03-19-2005 12:00 AM

...What the hell are you talking about?

As far as I know, neither Unearth nor Killswitch were supporting Slipknot...

Lamb of God and Shadows Fall were doing the whole tour...All that Remains was an opener for part, and Trivium is doing some later shows...

Dr3w182 03-19-2005 12:04 AM

The JoZ 03-19-2005 12:10 AM

...It wasn't the Subliminal Verses tour then, because I just looked, and neither Unearth nor Killswitch are at/were at any of these dates.

stone sour 03-19-2005 12:11 AM

umm what are some good unreleased songs? are the downloadable group effort songs good?

opps lol my bad then :D but same thing their performancez are the best

stone sour 03-19-2005 12:16 AM

I cant wait i will see them on the 13th!!!!!!! does joey do random drum solos or does he do it at every show

Huber 03-19-2005 02:02 AM

It's on the set list, so I'm assuming every show.

The JoZ 03-19-2005 10:46 AM

Oh yeah, Joey's drum solo...

I think it was better than the one on the Disasterpieces DVD....it still wasn't, like, "OMG BEST DRUM SOLO EVAR!" kind of good, but yeah. The platform did alot more spinning this time, and he seemed to vary it up a bit more than just a ton of double bass...

Jom 03-19-2005 12:57 PM

Poor JoZ, good thing her husband didn't come down and bash you in the face :p

The JoZ 03-19-2005 02:59 PM

I highly doubt her husband even knew what I looked like from where he was sitting.

I'm sure he probably saw me hanging out w/ her, and stuff...but yeah.

Even if he DID see me, the chances that he'd find me after the show were slim to none.

Oh wait, I mean, none, since he didn't :p

alcoholocaust 03-19-2005 03:32 PM

Damnit. I can't go see them this Saturday in Houston. :upset:

TheSubtleArts 03-19-2005 03:53 PM

i thought The Nameless was an amazing song live. and i cant believe theyve never played Everything Ends live before this tour, i thought that song was great too. Disasterpiese and Sic are always my live favorites though.
