i hope you all missed me terribly.

these are the bands i've been listening to recently: With Honor, Comeback Kid, Champion, Bane, Good Clean Fun, Terror, Stretch Arm Strong, Scraps and Heart Attacks, Give Up The Ghost, Gorilla Biscuits, The Bars, Carry On, 7 Seconds, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Shai Hulud, and Say Anything (not hardcore, but ****ing amazing).
I like the Bars. The band on Equal Vision right?

And I'm starting to like Bleeding Through... :upset:

yeah... ex-give up the ghost/american nightmare guys.

Bleeding Through is decent, but i don't listen to them very often.

also, check out this band: thisishell.org . it's a side project (actually full time now that Travis left Scraps and Heart Attacks) of a bunch of guys from Long Island hardcore bands. They have a demo out and a 7-inch coming in the fall.

Really? Sweet.

not Wes though. he's in a grind band called Daughters now. i don't really like them though. i think their drummer is in the Locust.

cbmartinez 08-30-2004 08:59 AM

Whoa, whoa. This is all new to me. Daughters just came out with their first CD so I could see Wes joining them but The Locust have been around for a bit, so unless they kicked out their drummer for GUTG's drummer, I don't see how that fits.

i just thought he was in the band... maybe i'm mistaken. i definitely think wes is in daughters though.

i haven't seen them live--i've only heard a few of their songs. maybe i should give them another listen.

All grindcore bands do is make me angry.

All you do is suck pen0r.

TrinityBombshell 08-30-2004 10:39 AM

I was just in the Metal forum (where i regularly post at) but one thing makes me angry about those guys. I like their tastes in music as much as I like punk and stuff, but it seems to me like they are much less understanding of new music. Like over here, you can talk about metalcore/hardcore as much as punk/ska, but over there, if you talk about anything other than "true" metal bands, they flame you. If its anything new other than Black Label Society, it seems like they flame you. I guess this seems like mindless bitching, but I'm glad for this thread.

Everyones fucking obsessed with labels nowadays, everything has to be bundled in catagorys and sub genre's. What's the point, Straight edge people, nothing wrong with them, up untill now... Now its not a personal choice its a fashion statement. Printed on t-shirts with less than witty gimics.

Punk Is Dead
Punks Not Dead
Straight Edge
[Insert name] Core

And who cares about straight-edge being printed on shirts? It's something to take pride in.

This is true,

Its irritating to see people waslking around with these t-shirts and spurting out slogans when they don't actually know the real meaning, Proves how incredibly ignorant people are.
