ahhh... okay... my friend just said teh st anger is the best metallica album.... can somebody rationalize this for me???
Its certainly their most honest album to date. They werent trying to fit into any type of genre and it was straight from them. Some of their earlier works were trying to be metal and then when they did Load and ReLoad they were trying not to be. Thats why this is their most honest album.

On a side note I was watching "When Metallica Ruled The World" and Lars said something that sums up what Metallica is all about "You're not going to ****ing sit there and tell me how to run my band". They dont let the fans dictate what music they make, at least not overtly. They may push the envelope one way to **** with people, but thats about it.

i guess that would kinda depend what your taste of trash is, personally i think Metallica has had 3 differnt kinds of sound from album to album, Kill em All thourgh AJFA have a simalar sound, then the Black album to Load have a somewhat similar sound, and St. Anger is just pure Metallica in my opinion.

some photography company i think.

Endless Obsession 04-01-2005 12:35 PM

Yeah i saw the Metallica rules the world thing, it was alright but i knew everything already so it really wasnt anything new to me.

They didnt go into much detail about anything, they even left out Ron McGovney and some other major parts of their epic run.

It was pretty good though, its good to let the common person see what Metallica is really about, outside the whole Napster deal.

metalcritter666 04-01-2005 12:37 PM

how do you change your avatar to something which changes?

Endless Obsession 04-01-2005 12:44 PM
how do you change your avatar to something which changes?
i googled "lamb of god icons" and this is what came up, it was small enough, so i right clicked it and hit "copy image location" and put that in my avatar slot.

metalcritter666 04-01-2005 12:49 PM

Moving avatars are .gif files, so you need to use a gif animator to create your own.
but you have three at the same time and they change!
Thats what the icon is, its supposed to be for like AIM or something like that but i just used it for this.

There are a number of moving icons availible on metallica.com then just go to extras im sure u can find one u like there.

metalcritter666 04-01-2005 01:02 PM

Josh 04-01-2005 01:12 PM

google "Flash MX" and then go on the macromedia site and get the free trial if you want to make your own animated avatars, you draw them like in paint.

The windows installation file is only 99.4mb

whatduffhuck7 04-01-2005 01:43 PM

My band is wanting to play a metallica song, but we have no singer, so i said "why dont we play one of their instrumentals?" I havent heard many of the instrumentals but i do think The Call of Ktulu would be a great song to play. Anyone recommend any other instrumentals?

Junglessence isn't on any album because it is just a live solo by Rob and I don't think To live is to die is on an album either

Yes it is called To live is to die, it is an ode to the late Cliff Burton(RIP). It is old music writen by him, and the quote from it is his also.

When a man lies he murders
Some part of the world
These are the pale deaths which
Men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear
To witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation
Take me home

Endless Obsession 04-01-2005 03:04 PM

MXican, who might that be in your avatar?

Six Foot Revolver 04-01-2005 03:05 PM

It is ginger who is the vocalist/guitarist from the Wildhearts

I disagree. When I listen to most bands I don't feel any emotions and rap songs actually usually have more meaning than rock songs. Also, you are being stereotypical. I bet you would get pissed if someone who listens to rap came up to you and goes "ha! you listen to metal, all it is is people in masks screaming in a microphone!"

lilmetallica 04-01-2005 05:32 PM

did i just say somethin?

That's true 'cause rap is more lyrical than musical, and rock is all about the music.
but back to metallica ,this song usually make me showw feelings:

Anesthesia
Fade to black
Orion
To live is to die

As for good lyrical song metallica has:
Ride the lightning(concept)
Escape
Master of Puppets
Dissposable heroes
One
...And justice for all
Eye of the beholder
Sad but true
The Unforgiven
Nothing else matters

metalcritter666 04-01-2005 05:41 PM

random metallica fact:
the song fuel is written about people who like to drive their cars too fast (ie jaymz)
