really? thats great to hear!
I doubted they will kick a$$ live, cause they are very technical and technicality might suck live...
Nah, they were cool live.
Watch the bass player, he absolutley slays.

repcak 05-19-2008 11:29 AM

I will :)
The great thing is that I am going for free (interview included) :p
So I will be able to talk to them :D

rid 05-19-2008 11:31 AM
That's understandable yeah.
And on top of that, he just has so much stuff in the first place.
Was gonna ask, stuff besides Nadja releases just as good or what? like Aidan's solo albums?

Nadja work is my favorite.
His collabs (Nadja & .......) are not bad, but not as god as normal Nadja stuff.

As far as his solo work goes, it's nice, but it really needs a calm and quiet environment to be enjoyed correctly.
Start with Scalpel if you want to hear some of his solo work.

Scalpel it is, thanks! I'll mostly stick to Nadja and The Angelic Process for now. Too much new stuff at once ... yea, bleh, haha.

Yeah, that's a good idea.
Withthis kind of music it's best to not take too much in at once.
It needs to grow on you and click.

np: Aidan Baker - Scalpel.
:p

gmoneyguy 05-19-2008 11:43 AM

Good album petey, I found another one of his 2007 releases last night, Noise of Silence

exactly. also need to listen to other things in between - at least I do - or I get tired of it pretty quickly. after obsessing and all.

so what's all the stuff I've been reading about Kris Angylus being dead?

the2stranger 05-19-2008 11:44 AM

I haven't heard that one.
It's impossible to keep up with everything he does.

So I stick to Nadja amost of the time.
And I don't think it's bad to explore some other drone/noise and ambient stuff.

:)

I can listen to Nadja (and drone in general) all day :p

K. Angylus passed way some time last month, reasons are unknown.
:(
I wouldn't be too surprised if it was suicide though, wince he couldn't make music anymore due to a hand injury.

RIP Kris.

gmoneyguy 05-19-2008 11:45 AM

Yeah cause he releases like 5 albums a year.

I try to, yup. As far as these genres go though, I don't like a lot of it, only the very best. :p

I already read that, it doesn't saying anything about cause of death though.
It really sucks anyhow.

The best of drone = indeed Nadja.

np: Aidan Baker - Our Needs Bear No Relation To Our Desires
How often do you try to massage the cyst?
I touch it a lot. I never really massage it, because it hurts to touch.

gmoneyguy 05-19-2008 12:00 PM

oh. I would suggest trying to massage it out, but if it hurts I would probably go see the doc.
I touch it a lot. I never really massage it, because it hurts to touch.
I'm sorry to say, but out of context this sentence is the funniest I've read all day.

pate 05-19-2008 12:03 PM

the2stranger 05-19-2008 12:07 PM

I actually lol'd in real life when I read that sentence.
And lol'ing in real life doesn't happen a lot to me with internet stuff.

Glitterati 05-19-2008 12:12 PM

Hahaha I don't even know what the sentence leading up to that was and I laughed.

I thought I had school today but no

Dancin' Man 05-19-2008 12:21 PM

Rub that cyst.

Monticello 05-19-2008 12:52 PM

Hey Petey, random question but what's the shortest Nadja song you've got, time-wise? Because I've only got 4 songs and that makes 2 and a half hours :|.

gmoneyguy 05-19-2008 12:53 PM

The shortest one I have is 4:15

the2stranger 05-19-2008 12:55 PM

The shortest is Ash of the Corrasion record, it's 07:23.

The longest I have is Thaumogenesis, 61:43

EDIT:
****, Guitrguy beat me.
I forgot about that song, it's The from Guilted By The Sun.
I didn't remember cause I haven't yet ripped it onto my PC.

Dancin' Man 05-19-2008 12:58 PM

Hey, son anyone in here want to do a Forced listening?
That is my favorite thing to do on this site and apparently nobody else's.
Except blue maybe

the2stranger 05-19-2008 12:59 PM

I did it a lot, but since I hardly have the means anymore for downloading individual songs I stopped doing so. :(

Oh ok, not all completely mental then. Thanks.

Imo, long songs do more justice to Nadja then short ones though. :p

You might be able to answer a question of mine then,
are any download links to music allowed anymore? I posted links to each song in my FL but I wasn't sure if that was offensive these days.
