I don't understand what the big deal with trusting people is.

For example:
Trusting my boyfriend not to cheat on me? Sure
Trusting my friend enough to confide in them? Maybe, depending on the person
However, trusting people to carry out tasks or fulfill promises they gave and whatnot? Nope.

People are flaky and no one ever seems to do what they say they will in my experience. It sucks. Consequently I have low expectations of everyone now and don't expect them to do anything. And usually they don't.
