Yeah. I reckon 2 to a bowl is optimum. They kinda go soggy if you don't eat thm quick enough. But some people like that. Infact, mushy weetbix in warm milk is pretty great.
I ALWAYS, without requite eat them with warm milk, usually 4 in a bowl so it's like a slurry. Everyone think's I'm very weird, especially on 30+ degree days.

That's better.

gaslight 11-11-2010 01:16 AM

I don't get the Weetabix name either. It's such an awkward syllable to stick in there.

Like maybe in Italy I could understand it.

funkyhoney 11-11-2010 01:18 AM

Maybe if it was like, weetybix or something.

gaslight 11-11-2010 01:23 AM

I'm surprised it's even legal to sell them in America seeing as there's no chocolate on it.

fatbandit 11-11-2010 07:21 AM

Weetbix sounds weirder to me. It's like the word stops flowing properly in the middle! Our weetabix are clearly different anyway. Ours aren't squared off, and they're probably about 4/5 inches long.

Sablate McNuff 11-11-2010 08:14 AM

warm milk = disgusting

Then again, I don't care for milk anyway. I'm more of a soy milk fan, and it really only ever goes in my smoothies.

fatbandit 11-12-2010 01:51 PM

Very much thinking of quitting my job to tour like all the time. I'm weighing up all the pros and cons and ways of getting by without the 9-5 (well, 9-3, but that's being picky). Still not sure what to do. I know what my heart says, but my head says the opposite :p

FunkMetalBass 11-12-2010 01:56 PM

Do you really make enough playing music to live? Are you willing to be extra poor for quite a while until it takes off?

fatbandit 11-12-2010 02:19 PM

This is the issue. We would almost certainly be operating at a loss. Original music at this level is not somewhere to go to make money. Money we do make from gigs will get totally eaten by petrol costs. One plan was to sign up for an agency and work for like 2 months, save up as much as possible, then tour for two months. Rinse, repeat. I've got a lot to think about.

Then there's what the other guys want to do. I know at least one of them will be up for it, and our drummer would probably find a way (he runs our practice rooms building, and makes money off that without really having to do anything). We'll see - I think the risk needs taking though, if we really honestly want to say we gave it our best shot.

Simpleton 11-12-2010 02:31 PM

the best way to gain fans is to be completely shameless in talk/flirting with them after a show. juts get people to follow you around/pay for your gas. touring musicians are bums.

You sound like you're in a similar situation to me. It's a tough decision, no doubt about it.

fatbandit 11-12-2010 05:44 PM

I really want to do it. I need a bit more spontaneity and whatnot in my life, and I think if you have nothing to do except tour, and if that is the only thing you actually leave yourself in a position to be able to do, then you'll be more likely to make it work, right? If we can get ourselves on a booking agency, and only play shows that are worth playing, then we could do alright for ourselves :)

Jimbobntnr 11-12-2010 06:58 PM

guys. I no longer own a bass. this is the first time in 23 years.
do I have to leave?

BenJammin 11-12-2010 07:13 PM

you even sold your upright?

Jimbobntnr 11-12-2010 07:27 PM

all of it dude.

FlamingCouch 11-12-2010 07:44 PM

just sick of playing?

Jimbobntnr 11-12-2010 07:54 PM

no opportunities to play, and I'm restoring a car that needed the money

FlamingCouch 11-12-2010 07:59 PM

mm, fair enough.

I dunno man, I definitely don't play as music as I used to, but if I didn't have at least one of my basses I'd go apeshit. It's almost like a security blanket thing, y'know?

funkyhoney 11-13-2010 01:40 AM

So, until I listened to Infectious Grooves I didn't know Robert Trujilo was actually a good bassist.

nicatterberry 11-13-2010 07:53 PM

Whats up guys, it's been awhile since I've posted here

There's only so much you can do to lighten the cab before you risk structural integrity and sound reproduction efficiency. Best to throw some wheels on it (for tilt-back rolling) and just enjoy it.
