Surtr 06-28-2006 10:53 AM

Sadly that's the truth.

Euro > US

Engerland > World

I'm still awaiting a Canadian Concert date. For the '06 scheduele they have none set up, so I'm hoping in '07 they will. I NEEDto go to a Maiden concert.

-The Frank 06-28-2006 10:55 AM

Canada=lawl , do you live with a polar bear in your igloo?

America>>>>>Canada :p

Josh 06-28-2006 10:56 AM

i have maiden tickets in my wardrobe at the moment. i'm fine, as long as they don't go missing when i move house in a couple of weeks.
it'll be my 3rd time seeing them :)

Surtr 06-28-2006 10:58 AM

I do in fact live with Polar Bears inside my igloo, why thank you for showing intrest :p

I've yet to even go to a real concert, only because I'm saving for Maiden to be my first.

JamJar 06-28-2006 10:58 AM

Keep those tickets near you at all times.

crag 06-28-2006 10:59 AM

Fix'd

Also, I thought that the first track was going to be a single. Surely they will have to make a radio edit.

crag 06-28-2006 11:01 AM

Surtr 06-28-2006 11:02 AM

Yeah what happened to that first song being the single?

And TROBB will have to be a Radio Edit for sure, it's too long.

pate 06-28-2006 01:15 PM
I actually think Bruce Bruce is better with short hair.
I completely agree with that. But maybe that's because he cut his bangs, which made him look like a four year old girl.

crag 06-28-2006 01:59 PM

If Greenday are allowed to release crappy 9 minute songs why shouldn't Maiden get to release amazing 7 minute songs?

ghettoeddo 06-28-2006 03:03 PM

green day released a 9-minute song on the radio?

it's because metal gets a bad rap >:-|

the_uber_penguin 06-28-2006 04:39 PM
Argh, 2 days before my birthday.
Get it for your birthday then!

And Greenday cut it down to about 3:30min...

Annoyed me a lot, as I'm also a Greenday fan.

GurS 06-28-2006 06:01 PM
I think he's everyones favorite guitarist, how can you not like him?
I prefer H, meself.

Lado Earth++, and he looked SO COOL with the dyed brown hair in it was either the LAD or Maiden England video. He suits the 'rock god' look better than Davey, IMO.

Well, used to. He got fat, not so much nowadays.

Mikesn 06-28-2006 06:06 PM
I've got a horrible feeling that the new album comes out the day I go back to school after the summer
Thats what's happening to me. :amaze:

But school starts an hour later on the first day, so I could probably get it before school starts.

rik 06-28-2006 06:43 PM

Maiden > school.

Go figure.

Surtr 06-28-2006 06:49 PM

Haha.

Maiden > Life.

lawlstorm 06-29-2006 02:39 AM

hi all, i need help because my band wants to do a cover of die with your boots on. The only problem is that all the lyrics i see are missing the lyrics in between the 2 solos after the little harmony part (it's at 3:44).

I tried listening to the song, and i can't make out for the life of me figure out what bruce is saying. Does anyone know what the lyrics are?

I dont have flash on this computer  :(, i want to see still life live so badly :(

GurS 06-29-2006 10:03 AM

Get Maiden England VHS. Absolutley fan-****ing-tastic set.

4 quid on ebay ftw.

Deth 06-29-2006 10:06 AM

They don't play The Trooper on Maiden England do they? That's the only time I've seen them not play it.

GurS 06-29-2006 10:09 AM

I think you're right, but in terms of POM songs, I'd forgo the trooper any day live for still life. Plus, well, it's on like every other live release (from POM onwards, of course, I'd have been helluva surprised to see it on Live + One or Maiden Japan :p)

I think i might just have to, plus if you get the bonus addition you get a audio cd of the concert :smash: . But i agree, greatest set list ever.

Deth 06-29-2006 10:13 AM

Well, me too. It's just strange to see such a staple missing, not that's it's a bad thing of course.

Iron Maiden recently spoke exclusively to the U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine (web site) about their upcoming 14th studio offering, "A Matter of Life and Death", due in September. The CD was recorded at Sarm West Studios in London with producer Kevin Shirley, who also worked on the last two Maiden albums, 2000's "Brave New World" and 2003's "Dance of Death".

"'Brave New World' and 'Dance Of Death' were both good records," frontman Bruce Dickinson told Kerrang! "But they weren't anywhere near as good as this one! This one is 'Dance of Death' without the effort. This whole album feels effortless. It's like driving a big, gas-guzzling motor car. You just put your foot down and there's limitless power under the bonnet."
"It's been unbelievable," added bassist/founder member Steve Harris. "We booked the studio for three months and we finished the whole thing in two. I think the preparation was good. We didn't have the rows we usually have! We really focused on each song and it was a very positive experience."

"The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg", which will be the first single to be taken from the record, is described by Kerrang! as "an intricate seven-minute epic that starts with a creepy, ominous intro before erupting into a crushing, almost Led Zeppelin-esque riff and a powerful, emotive chorus."

"It's very different for us." admitted Harris. "It's very riffy. The intro has an almost nursery rhyme eeriness. Sometimes you try to create a mood and sometimes it's just there. Everyone's going to ask who Benjamin Breeg is, but you'll just have to find out for yourself!"

With regards to whether "A Matter Of Life And Death" marks a fresh lease of life for Maiden, Harris said, "Five years ago we were thinking about possibly retiring at this point, but now we're at this stage there's no way! Why should we? I don't know why, but I always had it in my head that we'd do fifteen studio albums, so we've got at least one more to go
Wow, i am extremely excited about this new album!

Surtr 06-29-2006 11:29 AM

Looks intresting.

The main thing I like about this album, or at least expect from it..Is this eeriness that I've expected from the album and is mentioned in TROBB.

I hope alot of the album has sections of songs like this, not just at the beginning but in bridges and such throughout songs.

It'll be lovely to see what Maiden sounds like with this "eerie" sound.

Guitar_King_666 06-29-2006 12:28 PM

maiden always puts out a good effort with their albums. not all of them may be amazing but they still pack in a kick *** experience.

GurS 06-29-2006 01:43 PM

Don't know if anyone else has heard this, but apparantly Benjamin Breeg was Di'Anno nickname or something like that?

Surtr 06-29-2006 04:31 PM

That's where I've heard it most likely then.

GurS 06-29-2006 05:23 PM
