i would do that if i had the money the biggest thing holding my back from doing it is i have no place to build one

my garage isnt a closed garage its basically a roof with a small room holding a lawn mower and garden tools and posts holding up the rest

Panopticon 11-16-2005 09:14 PM

My dad's making me build a soundproof room in my basement...it could be good or bad...good cuz i can play whenever i want...bad cuz i hafta pay and build it all:upset:

EDIT: While we're on the topic...you guys should listen to Cue the Crowd. My cousin is the drummer/singer in the band and he's totally awesome...I idolize him.

i know what you mean. you'd be supprised just how much i cost us (i say us even though i personally spent nothing) just to build that one room. plus it's really time consuming. i fortunate to have a father that can build real well. he's actually a realestate inspector, so you bet everythings up to code.

i was also fortunate to live on some land where there is plenty of room for expansion.

enemytorepublic2

all i heard was sex machine and blue boy. they weren't bad. the drumming fit the songs well and was pretty nice.

i've heard a lot worse on the radio, meaning i think they're atleast radio worthy.

overall from what i heard, i say not bad.

Panopticon 11-16-2005 09:42 PM

thanks man...check out four monkeys in drag...great song...

PS. its enemytopublic2...not enemytorepublic2...but i'll forgive you this time:lol:

Win A Rabbit 11-16-2005 09:46 PM

while we're on the topic of bands to check out, try 'change methodical'. my band opened for them a while ago, great guys, love their music. purevolume has their older stuff on it, myspace has their newer stuff. i like the old stuff more, so here: www.purevolume.com/changemethodical

i think i'm going to start getting accordion lessons right away from my grampa, since he's staying with us and i really want to learn to play the accordion. it's such a sweet instrument.

my fault. i tried copying and pasting but it kept making it a link and i didn't want it blue and underlined.

i'll check out that song and i'll check out that band sic in a bit.

Loyton 11-16-2005 09:51 PM

Hey poppin, gimmie links of the mapex sounds you didnt like

LoneStarDrummer 11-16-2005 09:57 PM

four monkeys in drag = nice.

good catchy beat right at the start. i didn't catch all the lyrics because i was focusing on the music, but the lyrics i did hear weren't bad.

now back to the music. these guys are pretty good. how long have they been a band? this song was much better that sex machine. i give them thumbs up. :thumb:

sic

listened to the song "revealing the frequencies". much like the first band i listened to, it's not my style, but i was okay. i think i'll try another song before i make a judgement though.

LoneStarDrummer 11-16-2005 10:05 PM

sic

this bands all right. i liked when stars collide the best, somewhat reminded me of deftones. overall i think they have potential. they have a good energy, but it's just not really my style. i'm not really the best person for reviewing this type of music.

i did like some of the guitar in there though.

edit- sorry for the double post i been having folks. i'll try to remeber to just edit post rather than making new ones.

poppinfresh 11-16-2005 10:14 PM

That kit looks nice man, both of them at that.

Today was rather crazy, I had jazz band in the morning then again at lunch because we have a concert tomorrow night and needed the practice, then the rest of my classes, which one of was band. So that was 3 band classes and 6 classes overall today, didn't help being hungry the whole day either.

Brokensticks 11-16-2005 11:07 PM

I was hungry all day today too, spent the whole lunch hour doing math to raise my bad test mark.

Double Bass Jim 11-16-2005 11:13 PM

That old ludwig is a GREAT kit, the stickers could be taken off no problem.

Plan B. 11-16-2005 11:15 PM

Wow, that Ludwig!

It's so Jon Theodore it's not even funny.

that's the spirit. just remember to ask yourself: "what's homework ever done for me?"

the answer is nothing. not a damn thing. so just don't do it.

Howdy fellas..

My uncle took my computer away because im in my mock GCSE weeks. I should have it back tomorrow, so I can be back on the scene, but it will most likely be taken again on Sunday night and returned after my morning exam on Thursday.

Just fillin ya'll in.

Trev 11-17-2005 01:25 PM

Crikey, that seems a little extreme for mocks.

Although I could have probably used some discipline like that for my actual GCSEs, I was addicted to Counter-Strike so I didn't do any revision at all.

Futuro 11-17-2005 01:27 PM

What in the hell is a GCSE? Is it only something they do in Europe?

-Obscurity- 11-17-2005 01:33 PM
What in the hell is a GCSE? Is it only something they do in Europe?
I think it's something they do in the alley behind Circle K after dark. So if you aren't walking funny, you probably don't know what it is.
