Jom, I have a question. When I write the word d0cumentaries, why does MX feel the need to capitalize the "O"? Im just kinda curious because I see nothing wrong with the word.

gmoneyguy 03-08-2006 07:45 PM

it looks like you are pressing zero

Back when Chad was running rampant, a security feature that mx implemented was to change 'document' to 'd0cument,' since that's one of the words Chad needs (hopefully needed) to launch his code.

I didn't though. Its the letter O that was apparently switched to a zero.

I'll be doing the same thing. Hopefully get some college music credit in ahead of time.

gmoneyguy 03-08-2006 09:55 PM

That sucks you guys are still in high school. I am haveing a much better time in college then I ever did in high school.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-08-2006 10:01 PM

I am pretty much sick of high school right now. I just need more people to hang out with I think, and going to college next year will be good for me. It feels like I've done everything in high school already.

Hey, what is everyone's curfew? Or, if you're in college or whatever, what was your curfew? My parents are totally lame, so I have to be home at 11:00, unless I stay at a friend's house, then I just lie to them. :p

gmoneyguy 03-08-2006 10:07 PM

Mine was 1:00 am but they never let me stay the night anywhere, now I have no curfew but I still live with my parents.

Me too, I can't take much more of high school. I need to get out of here.

I don't really have a curfew. The legal curfew in town is 10:30, but I doubt many people pay attention to that.

PinkFreud 03-08-2006 10:10 PM

My curfew was 1. I wasn't allowed to sleep over anywhere because every single time they let me, I lied about where I was, I drank, and they found out. About every time. It was absurd.

gmoneyguy 03-08-2006 10:16 PM

I got to the point I would call in sick to work, not tell my parents about it and pretend like I was going to work, and then I would go to a friends house change into regular clothes and party my ass off.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-08-2006 10:38 PM

My parents are just starting to catch on how dishonest I am with them.

It blows. :(

It's probably just because I always use the same friend as an excuse as to where I am sleeping.

I think it would be more suspicious to say you are staying the night in a different place everytime

but yes I do love child abuse.

Steerpike 03-08-2006 10:50 PM

Before I go to bed, I just want to mention once again how annyoing my computer is. It's making these obnoxious buzzing and droning noises, and nothing I do will make the damn thing stop. At one point it was actually drowning out the movie I was watching.

My parents still give me a curfew when I'm home

It was anywhere from 10-midnight in high school.

Now, it's "Come home at a reasonable hour," which means I don't really have a curfew, per se, but since I'm not exactly a party animal and it's been engrained in my system to come home at that time anyway, I pretty much conk out at around 11 regardless of where I am and what I'm doing and just come home.

I think the latest I've ever been out is 1:30 and in bed by 2.

There was perks to both, but overall I'm not such a big fan of uni myself :-\

Until I was 18 it was midnight. After that it was 2ish. Now whenever I'm home I just have to let them know where I'm sleeping. I got in trouble once for that because I was stil out at 6 am when they woke up and I had said I would be coming home, whoops! :(
The latest I have been out is 7:00am.....
My mom is up at 4 for work, so if she leaves and sees my car not around, my goose is cooked.

That, and I don't like lying to my parents for stupid things.

"How late were you out last night?"

"1:00."

"Okay. How'd you sleep?"

etc.

I don't see what the deal is with kids lying about how late they were out past curfew.

"What time did you come home?"

"11."

"That's funny, I was watching the news."

"Okay, 11:30."

"That's funny, I was waiting up for you."

"Okay, midnight...

... OKAY, TWO IN THE MORNING, JUST GROUND ME FROM THE CAR ALREADY."

I just don't see why kids lie to their parents about that.

I don't have curfew, so my paretns don't say anything to me about it. Its actually rare for me to stay out that late, I'm usually home no later then 3.

blue3 03-09-2006 12:08 AM

I have to get home by midnight, usually. It's lame.

Haha, yeah I hate that my parents wake up early :-\

I lie about it though because if I tell them I'll be home at 2 and end up coming home at 4, :-\ I'll usually say like 2:30 or 3:00 though to admit I was late...just not super late heh.
I hate you for having a big avatar
Why? :(

Leper 03-09-2006 12:11 AM

I lie to my parents very little. My relationship with my parents is so good that I'd feel horrible if they found out that I abused their trust.

gmoneyguy 03-09-2006 12:13 AM
Why? :(
I should say that I envy you.

PinkFreud 03-09-2006 12:19 AM

I used to go into their room and tell them that I was home. We usually didn't do much after 1 or 2 anyway.

I lied to my parents about a lot though. Usually school. Grades and such. I used to have a HUGE problem with not doing homework. I just wouldn't do it, tell them I had, and go to school. And then they caught on and we talked about it and what not. And then after that, I still did it, I'd just have to lie to them about it more. I feel bad about it now. I'm like, a compulsive liar. I lie about stupid things that I don't need to. It just comes out.
I lie to my parents very little. My relationship with my parents is so good that I'd feel horrible if they found out that I abused their trust.
Yeah, this is basically me. The relationship with my parents is super strong. With the way my brother is progressing, it seems like it's going to be much weaker. My parents have given me a lot of opportunities from day one and will seem to continue to do so.

And they don't ask for much. I help out around the house when I'm home, keep my end of the bargain up with school, work, etc. It's not hard to be truthful to them in return.

My dad will make a hard drink and he'll wonder why I wave my hand dismissively and don't give much of a reaction when he asks if I want one. I'm pretty sure my parents are aware that I don't touch the alcamahol (that, and I constantly make fun of drunk relatives at familial gatherings), so at least they don't have to worry about that or me blowing all my money on booze and poker games and cheap sluts or something.

But that was a tangent.

I just don't see why people have to lie about little things. White lies are fine, obviously, though, heh.

PinkFreud 03-09-2006 12:40 AM
I just don't see why people have to lie about little things. White lies are fine, obviously, though, heh.
The thing about little lies and me is that I psyche myself into thinking that the repercussions are going to be much worse than they actually will be. And so I lie. And then afterwards I realize that I was probably wrong but at that point I tell myself that admitting the lie would be stupid since I already got away with it. It would also be admitting that I was wrong and I also have a problem with that, as anyone who's ever argued with me on here has found out.

blueyxd 03-09-2006 01:03 AM

heh, kids, you should all be 22 like me, it doesn't matter how long you stay out.
That hasn't changed since I was 18.

Leper 03-09-2006 01:17 AM

My parents, within reason, don't really care how late I stay out. But they get mad at me if I don't let them know that I will be out late.

dUSK 03-09-2006 01:26 AM

I was lucky, as I have never had a curfew. The first time I ever went out drinking, I stayed over at a friends place and didn't tell my parents. By the next weekend, I wanted to go drinking again, and felt like I should tell my parents. Plus I felt guilty about lying to them. They didn't mind at all. They even bought my own booze, because at least that way they knew what I was drinking. I've been going out with 40oz bottles of rum and coming home at 4:00-5:00am since I was 15. I think I turned out ok.

PinkFreud 03-09-2006 01:49 AM

Now, my parents don't care if I go to a party and drink when I'm home and they obviously don't care if I do at school. Rather, they care but they know they can't stop me. They just don't want me to drive if I drink. Which is very reasonable.

Jev 03-09-2006 01:50 AM

My parents let me drink and when I do I usually stay round a friend's house.
