Broken Arrow 12-29-2004 09:29 PM
hahaha dont waste my time. i've read it four times. and did a report on it for school.

and badmoon is trying to imply something about Jerry Garcia if i'm correct. I think Jerry and Jim were at opposite ends of the acid spectrum.
I was just wondering because I got it for Christmas and it is awesome. I recomend it +++....+

Jim and Nico :naughty:

I'm going to read it again and I'm thinking of reading that Neil Young book again and doing an FA on him but i don't know.

magicbus 12-29-2004 09:31 PM

Deus, you might wanna listen to The End or When The Music's Over for some psychadelic songs by The Doors.

wanton 12-29-2004 09:38 PM

I just got:

Neil Young - On The Beach
CSN - debut album
:thumb:

Listened to CSN but not Neil yet.

Great choices.

Ulysses 12-29-2004 10:04 PM
so whos your favourite band Ulysses?

.
I couldn't really pick a favourite, I'll produce a list shall I
AC/DC - I have all their albums bought, I like them especially before 1980, as most people do. I am a vocalist in a band and i like charismatic vocalists such as Bon Scott.
Cream - Ginger Baker, Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce = class, Disraeli Gears probably my favourite album and Tales of Brave Ulysses, fantastic track
Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Paul McCartney and Wings, The Byrds, The Who, Blind Faith, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, The Kinks, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix
They would have to be my favourite classic rock bands, I also like metal, bit of cool jazz, funk, alternative rock and indie

BludgeonySteve 12-29-2004 10:16 PM
pfftt, do I actually have to tell you who's #1? :p
I don't know who you mean. Do you mean garcia? He certainly did a lot of acid. :thumb:

BludgeonySteve 12-29-2004 10:18 PM
And Riders On The Storm, you whore-nut.

:p
I was thinking that. How could I leave out my favorite Doors song right?

WRONG!

Badmoon 12-29-2004 10:20 PM

Bon Scott is easy to mix up with Paul Rodgers. Apperance wise.

BludgeonySteve 12-29-2004 10:20 PM
:ee: oh noes

24 minutes of Shakedown Street with Warren Haynes=OMFG!!!
. Is that a good omfg? And how good is it in comparison to the original. I do value your opinion so very much :D

Woodstock 12-29-2004 10:20 PM

When The Music's Over > Riders On The Storm

Yes, it's a good omfg.
I don't care for that song.
Even the 24 minute version on nugs with Warren?

Badmoon 12-29-2004 10:23 PM
Even the 24 minute version on nugs with Warren?
24 minutes is rarely healthy. But we'll see.
24 minutes is rarely healthy. But we'll see.
It's under The Derek Trucks Band, but it's actually Phil Lesh & Friends just so you know.

BludgeonySteve 12-29-2004 10:25 PM
I don't care for that song.
magicbus 12-29-2004 10:26 PM

Riders On The Storm, When The Music's Over, and The End are my top 3 favorite Doors songs that are really long and cool

jpj 12-29-2004 10:26 PM

I think they pull it off just fine. I was never bored.

Badmoon 12-29-2004 10:27 PM

There and Back Again is a good album.

/fact

Woodstock 12-29-2004 10:32 PM

Anyways, I kind of find Disreali Gears overrated. (prepares for flame)

magicbus 12-29-2004 10:33 PM

/fact

Does anybody still have their christmas avatar on?

NP: PATGOD. Matilda Mother has some pretty calming music. What's your favorite song off this cd?

I won't flame, I'll just say that I think nothing Cream does is overrated.

Badmoon 12-29-2004 10:33 PM
I think they pull it off just fine. I was never bored.
They were screwin' with the melody a little too much in the beginning. But that song has always had a crappy melody if you ask me.
Why dont you two go to the Jam Band thread?
Are you trying to be funny!

Phil Lesh is classic rock, therefore There and Back Again is relevant.

Bike's my favorite because "I know a mouse and he hasn't got a house, I don't know why I call him Gerald, He's getting rather old but he's a good mouse."

Best lyrics of all time.

Woodstock 12-29-2004 10:41 PM
Anyways, I kind of find Disreali Gears overrated. (prepares for flame)
Well????

jpj 12-29-2004 10:41 PM

I disagree, I think Disraeli Gears is a terrific album.

Badmoon 12-29-2004 10:42 PM

That Phil Lesh set is insane. I was just browsing through it and they played some great Dead stuff. Like "The Golden Road". That was rarely played, and Warren does great.

Have you seen my last rep comment to you?

I think DG is a good album, but I think it gets too much credit
Have you seen my last rep comment to you?

I think it is a great album with some really great tracks on it, Strange Brew, Sunshine of Your Love, Swlabr, Tales of Brave Ulysses just to name probably the best tracks on an all round good record, i don't think it is overrated but Fresh Cream and Wheels of Fire also has some great tracks that are often overlooked.

Woodstock 12-29-2004 10:57 PM

I think Swlabr is the strongest track on the album.

New avatar(but we can't talk about it)

Ulysses 12-29-2004 11:58 PM

Technically Swlabr is one of the stronger songs, but my favourite would have to be Tales of Brave Ulysses, at the moment anyway.

clown_phobia 12-30-2004 12:02 AM
so whos your favourite band Ulysses?

and Badmoon, i noticed D'addario was trying to sell their mandolin strings by putting David Grismans name on the front. in our filing cabinet full of strings at work, there was a pack that said "david grisman uses these strings". i've never heard anything by grisman, but he must be **** good.
So you work in some kind of music related profession? Sounds great :thumb:

What do you do? Tell me more!

. Woodstock's a funny man.

DG is a great album. A great album that I need to listen to closely and then i'll get back to you guys on whether I think it's worth its hype. Because I know how you guys value my opinion :thumb:
