theyre not very hot topic though considering hot topic doesnt exist in västervik, theyre actually really good. "illdjarn" is probably the best use of clean vocals in a black metal song

Well I mean I still listen to all the essentials etc etc I just don't try to find new stuff or check out any bands that get recommended to me...

Why though? I understand the fact that you moved on from it, but it seems everyone who has went down the same path as you did begins mocking black metal, as if they didn't spend a good amount of their life listening to it.

Black metal can be silly, yeah, but making fun of something you used to love suggests you probably didn't have dedication to begin with.

Because there's so much ridiculous **** in it that it's impossible to not see the humor in a lot of black metal bands and releases. For me it's just that now that I'm not into the genre so much anymore it's easier for me to see the humor in it and not be uptight about it.

And I don't make fun of the stuff I loved i.e. Darkthrone Burzum all that old ****, just stuff that either just looks ridiculous or is terrible music wise.

Well it depends on what spectrum of the genre you're looking at. Bands with absolutely no difference from the others (ie. that Swedish band posted above) aren't exactly key contributers. However, there is **** in every genre, and I believe I'm safe when I say black metal isn't lacking in that area, but some bands still have some conviction and meaning that isn't founded in a Myspace page.

There's good and honest stuff out there, you just have to know where to look.

they may not contribute anything new and they may look ridiculous but i maintain that when it comes to that kind of melodic, angst-ridden black metal, Blodsrit do what they do very well

tbh, i've listened to them for quite some time, and i've never seen that picture of them before, but that doesnt really change my opinion on their music. it's not like we all dont know that a lot of black metal bands think its cool to look like that

There is a new Thesyre album coming out, which is in all French, but there are going to be English translations.
