no flashlight is probably his best album. it's definitely worth it to buy it and not just download it, but it's only available from his website, i think.

Kayetan 01-09-2008 05:14 PM

or his website has it with massive foldout and for cheap

Les Savy Fav
Future of the Left
Los Campesinos!
Cut Off Your Hands

Oh yes I just blagged myself onto the guestlist for this. I love student media.
The singer from Cut Off Your Hands is an arrogant ****. I imagine Les Savy Fav and Los Capesinos would be lots of fun live though.

Kyle 01-09-2008 06:33 PM

Yeah I'm just going to see the other three really, although I saw COYH supporting Foals once and they were ok.

Montana 01-09-2008 06:36 PM

I really don't want to go to my math class.

Anxious 01-09-2008 06:42 PM

I dont have a math class this quarter.

Its as good as it sounds.

Thanks 01-09-2008 07:06 PM

I was done with math after my first semester of college. But now I have to take computer programming.

If y'all don't have the 1956 Moondog s/t, go to the My Feet Are Gone blog and cop that shit. It totally rules.

Eliminator 01-09-2008 07:08 PM

i've had one of his compilations for awhile, but never had much luck getting that for some reason wurd

thats the other self-titled but w/e

Thanks 01-09-2008 07:11 PM

The other s/t sucks. Bad epic movie orchestral ****. This is like sweet field recordings and percussion enembles and awesome melodies and weird people singing.

Eliminator 01-09-2008 07:13 PM

cool

the stuff i've heard has been pretty minimal percussive type stuff. pretty groovy/relaxing. lots of short songs too

Thanks 01-09-2008 07:15 PM

Yo we should do a double post soon.

Eliminator 01-09-2008 07:24 PM

alright

i draw during a couple periods every day so i usually have stuff

you think it should just be a drawing thing or how it is now?

Thanks 01-09-2008 07:28 PM

I like the music aspect.

Kayetan 01-09-2008 08:30 PM
Sweet, Pet Sounds live in 2 hours. So pumped.

Also, should I see Caribou in a week? What's he/they like live? And also Low playing Thing We Lost in the Fire at a really small and intimate bar. Should I go? I'm more inclined to go to Caribou.
i'd go to caribou but that's me

i registered for my classes today and i kind of wanted to take a math class but the ones i wanted for all filled. im excited to go back to school though

Liebensaft 01-09-2008 09:30 PM

Is Mount Eerie also the name of a band? I know I have an album labeled with Mount Eerie as the artist.

Kayetan 01-09-2008 09:32 PM

phil's the best. if you get really into all his stuff, you should consider getting his book. it's so great.
also, if you don't have 7 new songs.

actually i encourage everyone to download this.

the microphones made an album called mount eerie and then changed names to mount eerie.

After he released a cd called Mount Eerie the band changed their name from the microphones to mount eerie.

iamrockzorz 01-09-2008 09:40 PM

Awesome, I love everything I've heard off of his earlier stuff. Looking forward to this too. He writes great chill music.
does anyone know what program Girl Talk uses?
I'd rather know what effects Tom Verlaine uses on his guitar.

okay 01-09-2008 10:53 PM

according to this interview he just uses a wav editor and a calculator to keep the timing right
