Btw, I'm getting tired of all these black and white band photos. I thought we were passed 1994.

Who cares about band photos
|
ANUS is a joke. Apparently any album that has terrible production a black and white album cover and, "misanthropic views" is a classic.
Yet take an album worth of merit with good production, a color album cover and worthwhile themes and they consider it a piece of ****.
they present their content well and have good points in their album reviews, even though I don't agree with them alot of the time |
they present their content well and have good points in their album reviews, even though I don't agree with them alot of the time
They still write terribly monotonous reviews and articles. "Clear points of structural variation that reveal emotional realizations in the progress of descent into chaos." blah blah blah. I give them the fact that they have high IQ levels but their writings are not poetic, pleasing to the ear or original in any means. They just try to sound liket they are the elite of the elite of the elite. While they dissect the, "modality" and "structural variations" in music, they forget the imagery, the themes, the emotions. They're a science textbook, that's it.
Who cares about band photos
Let me ask you a question. When you walk into a library and you've never read a book, do you choose the book with the amazing color painting or the book with coffee stains and no title? |
ANUS album reviews are hilarious, but some of their articles are interesting.
|
there's better sites than ANUS when it comes to 'reconstructing' modern society.

ANUS is pretty ridiculous tbh |

Alex Birch is the editor/writer. His views are very close on par with Prozak's, but they differ in a lot of ways as well. The other writers are okay, but none of them really amount to the content Alex puts out. I have a few articles posted on there, but none of them really deal with politics per-se. Corrupt/Anus are partner sites. |
I maintained corrupt's anarchist wiki some years ago. they are kind of anti-humanist nihilist whack jobs.

ANUS is pretty ridiculous tbh
Besides his "Most humans must be killed" stuff, I agree with most of what he says (minus some of the more extreme racial remarks). For the most part he's right about what he talks about. |
Their direction has changed a lot recently. Alex told me a few months ago he wants to have a more comedic approach to the articles, which is why all the columnists are following down the same path.
Corrupt's own readership is turning against them, though. |

Corrupt is a tad passive-aggressive, but you should be used to that reading ANUS, haha.

They're pretty much spot on with most of their writings but their suggested approaches to making change in the world are unrealistic and impractical I think. I like how corrupt has alot of focus on self-improvement, fitting into society as an eccentric/person who knows it's all bullpoop instead of focusing 100% on out-there philosophical ramblings. |

I mostly like what he says about modernity, nature and culture. I also like the imagery he uses, and the way he uses his choice of words in general. |

Take the time and read that. It's one of my favorite articles he's ever done. |

Take the time and read that. It's one of my favorite articles he's ever done.
That was very good. I like how he separates individualism and individuality, because too many people get the two confused. Prozak did an article somewhat similar to this, and at the risk of sounding cheesy, it really opened my eyes to a lot of stuff that went on around me. |

Interesting analogy, but I'd read the backs of both books then make my decision. I don't decide what band to listen to based on the band pictures either. |
amazing vid on that site:

Who would win in a fight, TAS or Emmure?
|
Probably TAS, they have the meathead singer and guitarist, Emmure is just a bunch of out of shape potheads. Nice dudes tbh, terrible band though.
You call those beautiful paintings? *slap*
You suck, stop posting. |
