Finals happened.

Dancin' Man 06-20-2005 06:29 PM

That sucks. I read it though and it sounded cool. Carnegie Hall seemed like a strange/bad venue though.

Mr. Squiggles 06-20-2005 06:32 PM

Well I'm off to watch Spaceballs. I couldn't find the post but maybe ICB can find it or explain it again.

/sees post about Spaceballs

Three awesome comedies from the 1980's:
Caddyshack
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Trading Places

It's pretty sad that Caddyshack is the only one that has survived in pop culture (even though I guess the pool scene from Fast Times is pretty famous), as all three of those movies are hi-larious.

I've never seen Trading Places.

Is the MX clock fixed for you guys, as well?

Illmatic 06-20-2005 07:23 PM
Hahahah Caddyshack is so funny. Holy crap.
Anyway, the clock is like, two hours and two minutes slow for me.

I've been known to help a brother on occaision. ;)

I love it when Eddie Murphy masquerades as Ai'erja Naiibeko, exchange student from Camaroon! HAWHAHWHAHAWHAWHAW!!

Funniest **** ever.

That had to have been the best part

"Thank you for correcting my English which stinks!"

Incomplete screenplay. Just so you know, it's only supposed to be ten pages long when finished, and it's very surrealist.

What a great movie. It's such a shame that that movie, as well as many other comedies from the 80's and even the early 90's, have been forgotten.

It wasn't that surrealist. It reminded me of the Star Trek episode where Data plays poker with Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Stephen Hawking.

I liked it. The dialogue was strong, and the setting was appropriate. I liked Vincent the best: you seemed to know what you wanted to do with him more than the other characters. Razor sounded least developed to me.

"Coming to America" has a funny nod to the fate of the Dukes for people that have seen "TP." I got a laugh out of it.

Is Mellow Gold the album where most of the songs are acoustic?

I just got Borknagar's "Epic." It ****ing RAWKS!!!! The guy is a great singer.

Mellow Gold is the first one, the one with "Loser" on it.

Which album has Pay No Mind on it?

EDIT: Nevermind, it's on Mellow Gold. I am downloading it from Zappa.

They've had three of the best black metal singers already.

I wasn't too fond of Coming To America, to be honest. Eddie Murphy's post-Beverly Hills Cop career took a nosedive IMO.

That's what rewrites are for.

Actually, the inspiration for the story came partially from that episode of Star Trek. I was also reading Bradbury at the time, so that sort fo rubbed off.

Did you read the other one as well?

Daddy Day Care is incredibly made. Amazing humor.

I saw the new Batman. If you can get past a couple of cheesy moments, it's a good flick.
