I like the dissonance they use in it:)

Opeth is an amazing band, though the only album I own is Blackwater Park. I should probably go buy some more actually.
And you call yourself an Opeth fan?

No, lol. I've own BWP for over 6 months. Its just that I listen to different albums at one time. For a month or so, it was Orchid. Now Im getting back into BWP.

Crysiss 05-01-2006 02:34 PM

I know this a double post but Im just bumping the thread, So i guess its ok.

Does anyone check out the Photoshopeth thread in their official forums? Theres some funny stuff in there. And theres some pretty cool looking stuff as well.

gmoneyguy 05-01-2006 03:14 PM

I have never been in their official forums.

Det_Nosnip 05-01-2006 03:28 PM

I drop in every once and a while.

Crysiss 05-01-2006 03:30 PM

Me too, But MX is home to me:)

Stormrider 05-01-2006 04:00 PM

I've been on it once...wasn't there for long though.

Crysiss 05-01-2006 04:05 PM

There community is a hard one to get into. But I've met alot of cool people on there.

Like the guys from Novembers Doom, I talk to them on AIM once in awhile:)

Stormrider 05-01-2006 04:11 PM

I'de get nervous talking to band members :p

Crysiss 05-01-2006 05:13 PM

Thats how I was at first. Like, do I talk about their music. Do I praise them.

I just stayed cool and talked to them how I talk to respectable people.

pate 05-01-2006 10:49 PM

I'm there everyday. Photoshopeth is great. I've done two or three (lame) ones.

Jude 05-01-2006 10:54 PM

The Photoshopeth thread was awesome but it died about 20 pages ago. I go on those forums occasionally, but I don't like it because of the extremely high amount of elitists, assholes, wankers, idiots and jerks, etc. Although it is cool because Mike posts on there periodically.

The MX community is a pretty harsh one, too. People won't listen to you usually unless you have a certain post count.

Crysiss 05-02-2006 03:09 PM

I see what you mean. Back when I had a less than 1000 post count, I got no respect at all

Thor 05-02-2006 03:11 PM

MX is a tough place. I guess you could consider it "forum hazing"

I still don't get all too much repsect, even with my post count. The BM Thread people just don't like me because I'm into Dimmu and Cradle.

Crysiss 05-02-2006 03:13 PM

lol those bands are enjoyable. I rarely go into BM for that very reason.

Im not tr00 enough.

Well, I think this is the most spam I've ever seen in this thread. Shall we continue or stop:p

Sure, let's stop before we get yelled at. :thumb:

So....Demon of the Fall owns, yes?

Shattered_Future 05-02-2006 03:16 PM

I know I'm gonna catch flak for this, but I consider it entirely average...

Crysiss 05-02-2006 03:17 PM

Demon Of The Fall is awesome. Though my favorite track off MAYH is When. I love the intro:)

Jude 05-02-2006 06:22 PM
The MX community is a pretty harsh one, too. People won't listen to you usually unless you have a certain post count.
Just to point out some comparisons, MX is harsher than some places, but I think it's mostly in a good way. Some forums have no tolerance whatsoever for criticism of stupidity. MX keeps idiocy down to a healthy level by members flaming people that say stupid things...in some places you'll be threatened with a ban if you're even slightly rude.

On the other hand, the extreme the Opeth forum goes to is bad too...everyone is just a dick to each other.

Demon isn't a bad song (pretty much no Opeth song is) but I really don't think it's that much of a standout track at all. The chorus kicks ***, sure, but aside from that it's really nothing special. April Ethereal and When are way better than it, on the album alone.

Shadius 05-02-2006 06:47 PM
I know I'm gonna catch flak for this, but I consider it entirely average...
I used to think that, but it clicked with me, now it's one of my favourite Opeth songs.

Oh, and I agree with Crysiss, When IS the best song on MAYH.

Followed closely by Demon of the Fall and April Ethereal. The rest of the album is great too.

Toaster 05-02-2006 06:53 PM

Eh. Demon was my first Opeth song, I liked it the first time I heard it, and I still do. It's not one of their best, I don't think, but it's a great simple song that comes across well live.
