The Piper at The Gates of Dawn and I believe he's only on part of Saucerful of Secrets.
The Piper at The Gates of Dawn and I believe he's on part of Saucerful of Secrets.
/late++ Yeah Gilmour was on SOS but so was Syd. |
Yea, but mine had extra info.
|
Saucerful of Secrets is probably the only Floyd album i haven't heard between Piper and The Wall. My guitar teacher told me it's awesome, can anyone validate that?
oh pizzas here, i gotta go! |
What does everyone think of John Lennon - Imagine? I think it's really good.
|
Yea, but mine had extra info.
Not much. Gilmour and Barret were both on the track Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. |
There are only 2 albums with Syd you realise.
yes but he also released a couple solo albums. |
Syd's stuff was a little out there for my tastes, but I do like some of it. Floyd didn't really become masters of songwriting until rodger took over.

i really liked it, not as much as most of the Beatles albums, but i thought it was better than most of their solo albums. Besides Imagine, I really liked the last song on the second side, anyone know what its called? |

True, and how did you get banned again? |

that's how i feel too. Roger's songs and ideas suited the band perfectly. Syd was too out there, Gilmour wasn't really as creative. I have one of Gilmours solo albums (forget what it's called) and i was kind of disappointed by it. |

He makes up for that on guitar, on some songs he had to play a bass line for roger because it was too difficult. |

it's amazing :thumb: |

Rock not roll was banned for 12 days for posting in a spam thread (this time Humour99's). |
Yes roger waters also, for a brief period of time, smelled like an ***. RIP roger qwaters *** smell.

what does that mean? are you trying to say ass? and i never knew that about Gilmour having to play some bass lines for Waters. very interesting. |
keep the facts coming, i enjoy shoving things into my braincase.
Did Gilmour teach himelf guitar?
Haha, glad you liked that. Braincase is a funny word. I'll have to update you on more Floyd facts as I get farther into this biography on them. |
what is very interesting is the way roger waters' *** smelt. in laymans' terms it smelt like an *** would regulary smel. It was very *** and *** with an *** texture. i hope you see my point.

Also I think Saucerful of Secrets is alright. I don't like a few of the songs, and I much rather prefer the version of the SOS song on Ummagumma. Its worth checkin out though, just listen before you buy it. I can send it to someone (a little later) if you want it. Also Syd's only song on that album was Jugband Blues, the rest was all Waters.

Yeah, not to mention insulting NPC resulting in an extra 11 days :p. Umm, plus making this thread which caused some problems. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=283074 |

Yeah Madcap Laughs and Barret were the names of the album. |

Oh Yoko Am I right? |
which one is the Floyd album that doesn't have a lot of new material. Is it Ummagumma?
|
All this talking of banning! I've only been banned once - and that was my original clown_phobia account. I was banned in late June I think. I never found out why. :(
|
Imagine's my second favourite Beatles solo album next to All Things Must Pass by George and every solo album by Ringo.
Paul Mcartney is playing the Superbowl half time show. I hope he has a costume malfunction. :naughty: |
ya it had the name Yoko in it, so it must have been Oh Yoko. Anyone else like that song?
|
ya it had the name Yoko in it, so it must have been Oh Yoko. Anyone else like that song?
Yeah - I like the whole album. Jealous guy might be my fav. song. |

Ringo has good solo albums? i have two of his, one has something to do with Flowers, and im not sure about the other one. i haven't listened to them though. I'd better put them on my to do list for when i get back. |
wow, how cool is magibus' user title, now thats something I like.
|
I've only heard of Ringo's self titled: "ringo". Is it good?
|

i was laying there half alseep while listening to the album (Imagine), so I don't remember any of the songs actually. it took me about half an hour to gather up enough strength to get off the couch to turn the record over.
|
hey look its Creedence! i've been waiting for you to come around so i could rep you.
Do you (or anyone else for that matter) have Chronicles? i've been wanting to discuss it with someone. |
Chronicles of what?
|
What modern bands do you people like?
|
Bob Dylans book. It's called Chronicles (volume 1)
|

And then when you got back to the couch you realised you had turned it over a bit too much and was listening to the same side agian (personal experience) /is still one rep away from stars, hint ;) |
Bob Dylans book. It's called Chronicles (volume 1)
oic. I need that badly :(. *cry* |
What modern bands do you people like?
what does modern mean? i like Coldplay, and if Maroon 5 come on the radio i wont change it, but i really don't hear a lot of newer stuff. i'm kind of cut off from the modern world. What are some good songs by Robert Johnson? Dylan went on and on about him in his book, so i'm very curious. I've heard a few songs here and there, but i dont recall any of them really. |
