Can the Outsider? I've always wanted to be able to play that, but didn't want to mess with my guitar tuning just for that song.

Not all of it. There are some open C#5 chords in it.

Mr Herb 07-22-2005 12:09 PM

My music teacher at school woudnt let us play judith cause of the tunning.

Anyone who wants to play an apc song, play it and Ill add some bass :)

Adam Jones is GOD 07-22-2005 12:10 PM

Judith is fine for standard though, since most is just octaves.

Plus there are lots of Billy improv sections to play with
I wish i had siblings who played good instruments, my brother plays the piano, but he is worse than me. If only he played the drums, I'd be on them all the time hehe.
clearvision 07-22-2005 01:00 PM

StormRider VS IronMan 07-22-2005 01:35 PM

I've been listening to tool for like a year or so and I must admit that in my opinion the level of music they play is much higher than most of the music out there. My first album of theirs was undertow and its one of my favourite cds.
Question:I've noticed that when I listen the hole album at once (like I usually do) and not by skipping tracks in the end I have a feeling of depression I could say (I'm not saying this is bad) but is it supposed to make you feel that way? Have you ever felt the same or is it different for everybody meaning that everybody feels different about it?

Told ya!

No, that doesn't happen to me.

Moses 07-22-2005 01:50 PM

I actually kinda feel happy when listening to Undertow. Lateralus is the darkest/deepest album for me but alot of people seem to disagree.

Mr Herb 07-22-2005 02:12 PM

Tool albums when you sink into them at first might depress but after I while youll want to listen to em at partys and everywere. Thats my expirience at least :)

Adam Jones is GOD 07-22-2005 03:22 PM

There is one section in the latest update on toolband that has me jumping up and down like a 14 year old girl at a Britney Spears concert.

Except im not a 14 year old girl and im not at a Britney spears concert.

kas_ofi 07-22-2005 03:24 PM

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-22-2005 03:25 PM

clearvision 07-22-2005 03:26 PM

I went to Toolband this morning. Unless you are a pigmy fan or in california i can't understand why you are excited...

Judith was the first APC song I heard back when I was younger.

Good stuff.

Daven 07-22-2005 03:28 PM

Danny is also planning on doing a show with the PIGMY LOVE CIRCUS on August 6th , but I need to get more details about this PARTY (He’ll probably be coming directly from the studio [yes, TOOL]

That confirms that they are fully recording for me. If you all thought they were at that stage already, stfu clever sods. I was still working off the idea that they were rehersing constantly, but not in the studio

clearvision 07-22-2005 03:35 PM

well he has been commenting on the recording process for a while now...

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-22-2005 03:36 PM

So that means that they still plan on being in the studio recording on August 6th? Dammit, that means that the release probably at least 3 months away then!

The half glass empty approach

Mr Herb 07-22-2005 03:37 PM

I think this means they are done recording, there dfor danny can do watever else he wants do. . like play with his buds

Adam Jones is GOD 07-22-2005 03:37 PM
well he has been commenting on the recording process for a while now...
Process for me is different than process for you then :p

Im going on anything so far. So let me celebrate over a relevant area for an update, no matter how small. This means that Danny is in a studio, drumming for tool.

Hard to explain, but im happy having that re-affirmed

clearvision 07-22-2005 03:38 PM
I think this means they are done recording, there dfor danny can do watever else he wants do. . like play with his buds
Nah, he's coming straight from the studio, as in instead of going home after work he's going to play...

EDIT : Maybe you shouljd kick me out of the skeptic/pessemist club. I was under the impression they were coming to the end of recording, hoping for a sept/oct release.

The recording process sureley involves recording, which would involve danny playing drums. Now the 'album cretanig' process would be a different matter. But considering writing started when APC were still touring, and the songs were supposedly in skeleton form for maynard to do his bit when he got back. I was thinking that after they had rehearsed and edited the songs they would just lay em down...meh

/me gets bowl of cereal

/me finds Tool songs

NP: No Quarter

Edit: While I'm here, this might annoy some of you:

When I was at Ozzfest 2002 in Donny, I was sat down drinking hot choc and eating doughnuts at the ends of Tool's set, I didn't really have much of an idea on who they were etc...and to be fair, really wanted Ozzy to come on stage. I think I caught most of Schism though which sounded pretty good :)
