As an instrumental, I think it's a bit long. Not to say that it drags but to me, 4:05 till the end sounds a bit unnecessary. Personally I enjoy my screamo (which I'm assuming is the genre you guys are looking to play?) songs short and to the point, but that's just me. Musically I enjoy it (as most of the shit the users all post). I dig the raw sound of the guitars and drums it works for this. It's not overly complicated (which in this case from what I can gather you're trying to convey, it doesn't need to be), the guitar is simple yet effective. I'm curious however to see what dimension vocals will add and whether it will help or hinder your sound.

tl;dr version - I dig it, but don't care for 4:05 and on.

I really hate jazz, so I can't really comment on the composition itself, I guess, but it sounds a bit over-compressed, I think. As if the volume sometimes makes drops in the middle of a loud note, especially at the beginning. Or maybe I'm just imagining things, idk, you seem to know your shit, so don't take this as me ripping on you, man.

The song actually gets a lot better when you get into it. It's actually more bluesy than jazzy.
