the best instrumental's gotta be TO LIVE IS TO DIE
It has lyrics. :p |
Call of Ktulu is their best instrumental IMO
/me agrees. |
It has lyrics. :p
Well.. hardely any... |
err dang I havent heard Call of Ktulu yet. Is that on RTL?
|
call of the ktulu is wicked awesome. i think it is thier best instrumental. i like the ominous feel it gives
|
^^ Ktulu has its charms, esp the symphony version, but i have to say i like orion best. My fav is actually to live is to die but technically its not an instrumental, but i still recognise that orion is one of the metallicas best musical achievements, interplay of melodic and heavy is just beautiful.
Anyway on a completely different note ive found myself listening to a few songs off st anger lately, invisible kid and unnamed feeling. Structural problems aside i can actually appreciate what they were going for on these, particularly invisible kid, i really like the tone of the baritone jaymz uses, and the subtle little delay on kirks too. If you listen to it through headphones you can really hear all the little quirks in the guitarwork, if only the lyrics werent so cheesy, it may have worked :(. |
..and I thought i had a bad attention span..
That song is a masterpiece. If you can manage to sit all the way through the whole song you'll enjoy it. ahh...music to my ears. :)
so tell me what's the masterpiece there? listen to sepultura's inquisition symphony. that's a good instrumental. by the way orion isn't a real metallica instrumental, 'cause when you look at the master of puppets cd you see that noone of metallica has written it |
All of their instrumentals are awesome, its hard to pick a stand-out one.
|
by the way orion isn't a real metallica instrumental, 'cause when you look at the master of puppets cd you see that noone of metallica has written it
 what are you talking about? |

Is'n't Orion made by Cliff.
And when was the last time the guys played AJFA. I reckon that song kicks. I wish they would keep playing it. |
Orion was written by all four members.
|

|
Orion is Hetfield, ulrich and Burton only. 2nd guitar solo = Hetfield, 4th solo (bass ) = Burton.
|
and correct me if im wrong but I think Orion was wrote in memoration of Cliff
No, thats *To live is to die*. |

No leaf Clover One |
^Sadly I doubt they'd EVER play orion live anymore...
That song was 90% written by Cliff and they haven't played it since his funeral. IF they were to play it it would be on the anniversary of Cliff's Death, and they'd give Trujillio a bunch of bass solos like Cliff used to have... but for the set list here goes... Battery (with acoustic intro) For whom the bell tolls Unforgiven Sad But True Fuel One Enter Sandman BREAK Nothing else matters Creeping Death Seek And Destroy Whiplash Blackened ... And Justice for all Master of Puppets Break Ride the Ligtning Am I evil Sanitarium Fade to Black |
I don't really care what order these a played in but:
Master of Puppets One Fade to Black Sanitarium Creeping Death Jump in the Fire Whiplash Hit the Lights Call of Ktulu Blackened Damage, Inc. Orion Harvester of Sorrow Of Wolf and Man Unforgiven Frantic Battery Nothing Else Matters Fuel |
i doubt that they will play two instrumentals in a concert.
|
HELP !
hey guys i just want to ask a question those who got or ever watched S&M. i personally watched only NEM & MOP from this concert. and one of my friends say that during some song tallica had third guitarist playing with them. is that true? thank you |
^ yeah it was me;... in all honest i don't know sorry, i really really doubt it though. If im not too tired i'll force myself to watch it all through later ;)
