If you know how to play guitar, bass seems easier. Same if you know bass, then switch to 6 strings later on.
|
i already know bass..and i recently got a guitar and im better than my friend that has been playing guitar for 2 years..but at my bass lessons my teacher started talkinga bout hte clash...he jsut kept on going on how poppy and catchy there songs were..i wanted to tell him all about the clash and joes belifs..but didnt feel like it..he was kinda of ignorant
|
tomorrow i'll type the interview with joe i'm reading in my book.hes so awesome..aww.
|
I play a Fender Standard Strat if anyone cares. I was going to get a Telecaster, but I changed my mind.
My bass is a Washburn that I got used at some place and has somebody's name carved into it. It sucks for playing without a pick, but it sounds sweet when I play the Magnificent seven :thumb:. |
hahaha what name?
|
Do you mean what the bass is called? I think its called a Washburn Pro.
|
I think he means "What name is carved into it?"
|
Precisley
|
It either says "Tim" or "Him", the latter of which is apparently some metal band.
EDIT: It's carved into the 13th fret. |
i'm doing a clash shirt, and i can't decide which lyrics i want to write in the back...they all means something to me...any suggestions?
|
"He who fucks nun will later join the church"
|
"He who fucks nun will later join the church"
123 Or possibly "a riot of my own", but it's really your decision. |

"You have the right to freedom of speech, provided of course, you're not dumb enough to acctually try it" |
i really dont know.there's just so many good lyrics, i really cant choose.i had a dream once where i was buying a clash shirt with 'long distance callers make long distance calls' on the back...maybe lyrics from koka kola?aahhhhhH!too much lyrics...just too much.maybe passion is a fashion...
|
"You have the right to freedom of speech, provided of course, you're not dumb enough to acctually try it"
that's the quote I used in the editorial we (the students) wrote against the school direction. |
"You have the right to freedom of speech, provided of course, you're not dumb enough to acctually try it"
You could use anything from Know your Rights. "Murder is a crime! Unless it was done by an police man... or an aristocrat... oh... these are your rights!" That's probably way too long, though. |
"If Adolf Hitler flew in today
They'd send a limousine anyway" "You think its funny, turning rebellion into money" "White youth, black youth Better find another solution Why not phone up Robin Hood And ask him for some wealth distribution" a few off Hammersmith |
another question...at the end of clampdown someone say something as the song fades away...but i cant understand what it says.anyone else noticed?
|
i think i'll take:
Yankee dollar talk to the dictators of the world - In fact it's giving orders and they can't afford to miss a word. |
It says "Who's barmy now!"
Barmy is some British word, maybe Joe will know what is means because I don't. |
it basically means crazy
|
I hope Joe knows what it means cause he wrote it...it would be kinda gay to write something you dont even understand...and Joe wasnt gay.
EDIT: I just realized you were talking about sketchy...i think it's tim efor me to go to bed heh. |
White youth, black youth
Better find another solution Why not phone up Robin Hood And ask him for some wealth distribution" Possibly my favorite Clash lyrics ever, although I change my mind alot. |
I hoep Joe knows what it means cause he worte it...it would be kinda gay to write something you dont even understand...and Joe wasnt gay.
I think the lyrics from I'm so Bored with the USA will look great on the shirt :thumb:. Be sure to send a pic.
wouldn't be funny/political in canada |
wouldn't be funny/political in canada
The Clash were from England, so the only place it wouldn't be funny/political is probably the US. |
nah cause at the time the english punk scene hated the american scene
in canada I'm so bored with the American republican party would make more sense |
nah cause at the time the english punk scene hated the american scene
in canada I'm so bored with the American republican party would make more sense
True, and Joe was also sick of seeing McDonalds' on every strret corner. I may be wrong, but were the Clash the first band to ever criticize the American government eith I'm so Bored with the USA? Because it would be pretty ironic for an English band to be the first ones the criticize the US. |
i dont know if you know this but..Im so Bored with the USA isnt an anti american song..its just saying how in england and other countries people were bored growing up on americaized customs and cultrual..they wanted to grow up there own way not like the americans
