Bowling is grind as f*ck.

Bitter 04-24-2005 02:17 PM

Checkers is jazz infused techno with melodic death metal breakdowns.

That's tiddlywinks, son.

Hahaha, Bitter, let's be friends.

RetiredAt21 04-24-2005 05:04 PM

I like Hot Cross.

RetiredAt21 04-24-2005 05:06 PM

I would love to see them live. I've heard they put on a fantastic show.

Electric Ocean 04-25-2005 10:29 AM

I didn't really want to make a new thread so I thought I'd post it here. Do Indian Summer have any other songs which are as good as Angry Son. I've only heard Sugar Pill And I Think Your Train Is Leaving but they just don't seem to be up to the same standard. Also, does anyone know where their discography would be availible from, because I've looked and no where seems to have it. I'll probably get it if there are other good songs on there.

Only one, and it's an unrecorded song. I have it on a live video.

You can get the discography on e-bay. Just search "Indian Summer Science 1994".

RetiredAt21 04-25-2005 12:00 PM

Indian Summer is a pretty good band. Angry Son is definitely an awesome song.

I think Level-Plane's distro has it... if not, search on Ebay. I think the bassist sells it as a Buy It Now constantly. That's how I got my copy.

Wow 04-25-2005 12:54 PM

Yeah, he does. That's also how I got mine.

Electric Ocean 04-25-2005 01:20 PM

What's it like as an album? Is it worth buying?

BuddyBigsby 04-25-2005 01:22 PM

Definitely.

tornpictures 04-25-2005 01:34 PM

The train song is my favourite Indian Summer song. The split with Embassy is just amazing.

There are also two live shows (mp3 and video) available on SoulSeek. Indian Summer released one of them on CD. It's called 'Live at the Blue Universe.'

Electric Ocean 04-25-2005 01:55 PM

I just looked on level plane's website and couldn't find it so I guess I'll get it off ebay. Anyway, thanks for the help guys. :thumb:

Someones tried to tab it in the tab section but they seem to have done a
rubbish job. Try working it out from that though, or alternatively www.google.com

Meneguar a pretty nifty

_Alexisonfire_ 05-01-2005 05:29 PM

Maybe mods could add The Fall Of Troy to the "eclectic/rooted in emo" section, on the first page? I find them to sound a lot like Hot Cross, and they remind me of Fear Before The March of Flames.

Your opinions, everyone?

BuddyBigsby 05-01-2005 09:33 PM

So I just found out Off Minor are coming out here in June....

....and playing in South Central. :upset:

GO!!!!

PlasticGangster 05-01-2005 10:56 PM

also, are there any other dates!?

BuddyBigsby 05-01-2005 10:58 PM
GO!!!!
Dude... it's South Central.

I'd rather drive 2 hours to San Diego, assuming they're playing the Che Cafe down there, which most emo/screamo bands play. I'm trying to find dates to see if there's another one I can go to, I found that date on the venue's myspace page.

PlasticGangster 05-02-2005 12:13 AM

blasts! i didn't find anything. i want to know if they're coming anywhere close to here. i'll take the bus if i have to!

Firecracker 05-02-2005 07:55 AM

What's the definition of screamo, does anyone wanna tell me?

Electric Ocean 05-02-2005 08:32 AM
heavy fast screamed hardcore parts, with abrupt starts and stops and guitar focus more from the classic emo side, and quiet, twinkly melodic parts in between.
Check out some of the bands on the first page, you need to hear it really. Try Saetia or Circle Takes The Square.

Sep 05-02-2005 08:40 AM

Yeah I'm kind of waiting for the definition Torn and Dfelon were gonna do.

Anyway, it's just an unknown type of music. It's like emo except vocals are usually screamed so little talking like Indian Summer of Saetia and it's more chaotic. A lot of the screamo songs I've heard have longer parts with no singing. The production quality usually isn't very good but neither is that of a most emo.

Anyway, that's just what I picked up from it, and I am no expert in this genre (or any genre, for that matter) but I am just trying to help you out here.

If I made any mistakes in that I'm sure someone who knows more about this will correct me.

SpecialBoy 05-02-2005 08:40 AM

If I could still vote for you for noob of the month, I would.

Sep 05-02-2005 08:46 AM

There's some emo/screamo bands on Purevolume; check out Circle Takes The Square, I Would Set Myself On Fire For You, A Day In Black And White, Van Johnson, Textbook Traitors. Those are all the ones I can remember at the moment.

Sep 05-02-2005 08:49 AM

There are also some The Kodan Armada and Kaospilot mp3s on their official websites, if I remember correctly.
