The organisers of the legendary Dutch festival, Dynamo, have announced the line-up for this year's event.

The one day heavy metal festival is due to be held on Saturday, 5th June in the Goffertpark in Nijmegen, Holland.

According to the festival's official site there will be a total of 14 bands appearing over two stages, "pretty much in the same set-up as in the year 2000 when Dynamo was held at the same location."

Confirmed acts include:

Slayer
Life Of Agony
Dimmu Borgir
Nightwish
Deicide
Soulfly
Children Of Bodom
Ill Nino
Mastadon

Tickets are 50 Euros. The gates will open at midday and the first band goes on at 1.

For more information, visit www.dynamo.nl. However, for those of you in the UK, you will have to chose between Dynamo and Download - as both are on the same weekend! Place your bets now!

NOOOOO! Whos idea was it too put download and dynamo on the same weekend :upset:

Ahoy Thrashers & Thrashettes,

Sorry I ain't been on lately putting in my input. I have a good reason.... I've been in England for the last 3 weeks and not had much access to a computer. I'm still here at the moment, but I'll be back in Aus in a few days. Like a natural Thrasher I've been getting wasted everynight (no puking though!) and having a good time.

Something I have noticed about England that I didn't before I left.... There really is no Thrash to choose from. Where's the JB HI-FI in England? HMV only sell one Exodus CD! one ****ing cd! it really is shocking. Anyway.... what's been the subject here lately? I can't be arsed reading back 100 pages.

sacrifice93.2 04-20-2004 08:07 AM

It does suck that I can't find any Testament or Exodus CD's without going online. It pisses me off that people don't realize anymore how great thrash is, and how talented one is to perform it. I'm surprised that people said my old band was a good thrash band.

sensitiveorgan00 04-20-2004 01:09 PM
Ah, **** missed it, so what did Slayer do on M.G.?
Meh, I was disappointed. They only showed like twenty seconds of Slayer, and they played Disciples. It was a cool show though, but I wanted more Slayer, not car smashing.

sacrifice93.2 04-20-2004 01:29 PM
among the living was made in 1986, so its automatically their best
Not automatically, but still their best. My favorite thrash album, if you couldn't tell. If you saw them live, you'd be surprised how well John Bush can sing stuff from that album.

Back to the thrash band thing, everyone here probobly remembers me talking about it, and have read my lyrics. I just wrote a new song that would definately open up a show well. I also helped write the music for an instrumental called The Screams of the Martyred, which includes some prose behind the instrumentals, kind of like what Slayer did with In The Darkness Of Christ. Anyone want me to post these on my lyric thread?

sensitiveorgan00 04-20-2004 01:42 PM

^ I'm waiting for some mp3's man.

sacrifice93.2 04-21-2004 09:47 AM

I'll post the lyrics for the song I wrote, but I can't find the prose for Screams of the Martyred! The new song is called Don't Belong Here

sacrifice93.2 04-21-2004 12:50 PM

I'm gonna go ahead and post the new lyrics on my thread, since I'll be gone until Sunday night. I'm going to Florida on my senior trip. See ya then.

Another testament line up change :(

TESTAMENT have now officially confirmed the departure of guitarist Steve Smyth. The group's statement on the matter is as follows:

"Like a previous announcement, we would have preferred to break the news to the fans, first. You are getting the official statement right here!

"TESTAMENT and Steve Smyth have amicably parted ways and both sides remain good friends. TESTAMENT would like to wish Steve all the best in his future endeavors, and Steve would like to thank TESTAMENT for a memorable five years he will always cherish.

"The band has been continuing work on pre-production for the next album, as well as making preparations for the upcoming tour in June. We will have another official announcement soon, so keep checking back."

As previously reported, it is believed that former HALFORD/current PAINMUSEUM guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak is the leading candidate to fill the slot left vacant by Smyth's departure. It is presently unclear if Chlasciak would be joining TESTAMENT on a permanent basis or if he would only be assisting the group during their upcoming European tour, which is scheduled to kick off in early June.

Smyth, who has been playing with TESTAMENT since 1999, is believed to have left TESTAMENT in order to join NEVERMORE on a full-time basis. Steve has been performing with the Seattle-based group as a session/touring guitarist for the past two years and is said to be more compatible with the other members of the band (on a musical and personal level) than has been the case with any other session guitarist NEVERMORE have ever had.

I hope they get "Metal" Mike Chlasciak he is a very good guitarist

manuscriptreplica 04-24-2004 02:44 AM

Im not THAT into anthrax really, but ive been getting into them a lot lately cos of their gig I went to last night. there was this local screamo band, killswitch engage, soilwork, and anthrax. the Anthrax gig was quite funny really, there were problems from day one. ADelaide was their first gig in australia, and their gear was left in Japan or something. So they had to buy all this gear from a local music shop. Then the guitar, bass, and other guitars stuffed up, then there was a fight in the crowd and the singer jumped in. the guitarist (scott ian) told him to get the **** out (the guy who started the fight), and everyone cheered. it was great. Soilwork were quite decent, their pop/death metal style is cool.

recent hauls: Kreator - Coma of Souls
Cannibal Corpse - Butchered at Birth

i'm picking up the slayer soundtrack to the apocalypse next payday.

ooh yeer

p.s sorry about drunk posts. and among the living doesnt suck!

AParanoidIronMan 04-24-2004 04:08 AM

spreading the disease is by far their best album, its superior than ATL!!!

recent purchases - slayer - war at the warfield
AC/DC - no bull

DimebagDarrell 04-24-2004 05:54 AM

Stupid yes, idiotic... yes. Was that the point?... Yes.

Exhorder started in the mid 80's anyways.

Sithlord is cool though...especially cool to Star Wars fans.

DimebagDarrell 04-24-2004 12:15 PM

After months of trading verbal jabs with his former bandmates, frontman Philip Anselmo appears to have finally softened his stance with regards to one day sharing the stage again with ex-PANTERA guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul (both currently in Damageplan). Asked in a live phone interview on the "Friday Night Rocks" show on New York's Q104.3 Friday night (April 23) if he could ever see himself collaborating again with the other former members of PANTERA, Anselmo replied, "I think I see it more than they see it. I would have no problem at all, if we were in the same town and their band was playing and they wanted to play some PANTERA songs, I'd be a man and suck it up and [go up on stage and] do some PANTERA songs [with them]."

Anselmo's current band, superjoint ritual, are in the middle of a headlining tour which will take them to Davenport, Iowa Saturday night (April 24). The group will follow up a main-stage appearance at this year's Ozzfest with additional touring in late summer and a return to the studio in the fall to record their third full-length album, tentatively due in early 2005 through Sanctuary Records.

maybe you should get a sense of humour. many great thrash CDs were released after 1989, like Metallica - black album.

and exhorder suck. check out Megadeth - rust in peace if you want a good album after 1989. Or, of course, judas priest - painkiller.

AARON27 04-24-2004 10:52 PM

er, i was the one pointing out the fact that many good thrash albums were released after 89 remember you were the one that said thrash sucked after 89 so whats with the advice, i already own rust in peace for many years as i'm sure all thrash fans do and as for the black album and painkiller there not thrash
