well guys I think this is a huge improvement over that last track I posted

I mixed the EQ a bit better just gotta practice singing my voice keeps cracking and I can't seem to deal with combining vocal registers or keeping or key or anything to do with singing really

nodding 09-26-2011 12:22 AM

you should double track the vocals and some reverb
the reverby snare hit sounds pretty shitty

nodding 09-26-2011 12:23 AM

yeah I tried that there is almost no constant low end though. i can't seem to maintain it so it sounds more rounded out

lots of people complain about my snare, my snare

nodding 09-26-2011 12:28 AM

idk is your mic still and all that shit or do u hold it
its prob just a shit mic

nodding 09-26-2011 12:29 AM

you could just copy the vocal track and pitch it down a tiny bit and pan both and eq em

Haz 09-26-2011 12:29 AM

well, it's a step up from a $10 dick smith mic. I paid $100 for it

I did cut off a lot of high end frequency to make it blend in with the rest of the dirge, and yeah i'm holding it pretty poorly

need to practice I had a better run recording earlier just can't seem to maintain it

witchxrapist 09-26-2011 12:30 AM

Nick dropping knowledge.

a few things

1. i'm brave enough to attempt a rough clean vocal track for mixing criticism whilst you hide your inability to sing behind mounds of distortion, which does absolutely nothing to aid you. I am open to feedback and criticism.

2. this is clearly intended as a b-side, I put minimal effort into writing this song and recording it apart from the intention of improving on my last track recorded with live instruments and vocals, where I traditionally work with samples and soft synths. you might commit every pile of shlock you record to tape and put it on your album or whatever but i'm not willing to officially release music I think is cack and i'm unhappy with and argue at length about it's musical worth.

3. we listen to vastly different styles of music, and I don't expect you to have a clue what I am aiming for here.

(*The Noonward Race*) 09-26-2011 02:10 AM

yeah keep the highend of the vocals, it muffles it behind the rest of the sounds

the drum sounds should be more obvious in the mix you can barely hear them it kind of get really obscure and clutterd because of this

the guitar sounds pretty good actually

Haz 09-26-2011 02:11 AM

thanks man

adb 09-26-2011 02:11 AM

1. plow, I posted a re-mixed version of the first song off my album with no reverb and I think it sounds better, more coherent and lol I used a 20 dollar mic even. The whole album is going to eventually be re-mixed w/ no reverb.

2. you are mad

3. I can say the exact same to you, please dont try to push that double standard on me :thumb:

The whole point is you can't fucking sing, it sounds so horrible and the vocals are too high in the mix.

adb 09-26-2011 02:14 AM

in b4 mappy and possibly everyone else comes in to defend plow and (attempt/fail) to offend me

(*The Noonward Race*) 09-26-2011 02:14 AM

by drums i mean the toms coming in the last part of the bar

no reverb on the vocals is noticable

high pass the guitar delicately, you don't want to lose the heaviness but you have to clear up space for the kick/bass
thanks man
np man these are just my suggestions after a few listens

if this is where the past has taught us anything this is where we run into problems
2. you are mad
Brent, I just responded to your post. i'm having one of the best days of my life in recent memory, internet drama couldn't mean less to me

if anything you would appear to be projecting insecurity because I made fun of your album, an opportunity for revenge. you like the word butthurt, so I think i'm a gonna use it here. you are butthurt dude. trolled hard
3. I can say the exact same to you, please dont try to push that double standard on me :thumb:
let me rephrase that

I listen to vastly different styles of music. I know enough about the kind of death metal you are trying to hack to know what you aiming for. The difference between me and you is how much of a lolcow you become on the PR side of things

(*The Noonward Race*) 09-26-2011 02:23 AM

how do you multiquote

or are you doing it the hard way

Haz 09-26-2011 02:26 AM

i just open tabs and copy and paste them

(*The Noonward Race*) 09-26-2011 02:27 AM

ah, yes, that is a bit faster
i thought there was a secret method i think still might be

adb 09-26-2011 02:29 AM
let me rephrase that
"let me backpedal"

whats your point? It's pretty easy to laugh uncontrollably at your vocals because it's obvious to anyone that they're hilarious. I get the mental image of you closing your eyes and (trying to) sing into the mic, doing take after take then thinking "fuck it I'll use this take"

(*The Noonward Race*) 09-26-2011 02:30 AM

adb what do you think people visualize when they listen to your album n
