Yeah the synths are a pretty obvious Symphony X nod I think. Especially when you listen to the instrumental version.
Oddly enough, one of the first things I heard from the new stuff was that the structure reminded me of Gorod. |
i think the synths add a lot to the music in some parts
|
Hahaha... what venue had human **** on the floor?
I agree that the Dungeon is a piece of ****... and way too hot. The heat reminded me of the Rockit... probably won't go there again. That was a cool show, though - got to see Bloodmeat and Goddess Bound (I think). I remember everyone cheering and applauding at the fake-out end of Bloodmeat. |

That was it. The Rockit ruled but it was too hot. It's a jazz-bar now, no fooling. |
I thought you were YDload for a second.
|
Has anyone seen them play on their latest tour? Im going to see them in Jersey on the 23rd, and I wanted to know how long their set is (because I know they arnt headlining).
|
i think they're right before the headlining group
|
It'll be a decent set, I reckon about 40 minutes.
|
thats what i thought im hoping they play a lot more newer stuff, last time i saw them was pre-fortress so they played 2 new songs, bloodmeat and one i couldnt (and still) dont know about but i hope they play a lot of newer stuff
|
Bunit, first of all I love the Solid Snake avatar. Second, Coke, 40 minutes is damn decent. Im guessing it will be mostly Fortress tracks?
|
Just a guess but from what I know:
Bloodmeat, Goddess Bound, Limb from Limb (Including Pt.1), The Dissentience, Sequoia Throne, Nautical, Bury the Hatchet, She Who Mars and Heretics are all possibilities. |
no bone marrow :( but :) to everything else
Bunit, first of all I love the Solid Snake avatar
thanks, for some reason the past 2 months has been shrouded in this damn game, can stop playing it |
I have to say, after all the talk of favorite parts or catchiest vocal parts, that I always turn it up right when it gets to "And other such regulars cry ghost or boast of a friend of a friend..." from The Dissentience. The music restrains a bit and Rody just takes over.
Killer. |
I do love that song, but I have to say that it could have done without him screaming "Down the street..." part. He does it so fast.
|
Needs more Wretch.
|
that it does
|
I actually got my pre-order with the t-shirt and poster today! Finally!

I see you're from SoCal as well. Hopefully mine turns up soon. |
Yah. I was getting kind of frustrated when it wasn't coming, but I walked up to my house after school today and saw the package and I was stoked. Ripped it open as soon as I got inside.
|
Hahaha, so apparently Matt Babel called Rody out on MuchOnDemand today during an interview (I missed it), saying how Rody said "Sand Ni GGer" in a video interview once and how that's not what a role model should do, and apparently Arif had to defend him. Sad I missed it.

I hate that really short bass solo in Palms Read so much, it seems so random and it doesn't really fit... as technically impressive as it may be.
|
It's a cue man, it's hardly supposed to be an impressive solo. It just signals that somethings happening (leap without faith). It's something that sticks out, and also hints at the shift the song takes.
I can see what you're saying though :P |
I like it.
|
I'm not crazy about the tone or sort of effect that's on it though
|
Haha, I'm pretty sure that's from one of these videos:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=6r3njFSd7Z8 http://youtube.com/watch?v=nVQkTNc0XyQ Did you end up getting on the guest list? I'm in Toronto but I decided to watch the Raps game instead of going down to the Kool Haus without a ticket. Could go to the afterparty at the Bovine, though.. |

Same here. They couldnt squeeze me in, and even still, I can't afford the amount of booze it'll take to tolerate Silverstein. I have a lot of work to do, plus it's the Raptors 1000th game. It's in part 2 of that interview. He also says he's a neo-nazi and talks about shoving his face in an MTV hosts vagina. Matt Babel, as nice of a guy as he is, is kind of a tool
Could go to the afterparty at the Bovine, though..
I considered it, but I'm not really enjoying most of the people from that scene these days. Toooo cliquey. |
Boo Raptors.
Hooray Rockets awesome streak. Anyway, I'm not gonna be able to see them pretty much when they get here. I will just have to wait for the nest time again. |
hahaha, oh yeah, the neo-nazi thing. I remember that. Awesome. I've never met Babel so I can't attest to if he's a nice guy, but he sure seems like a dolt on TV.
(completely unrelated: Woo, Calderon!) And yeah, I'm not sure the afterparty really would be very special. I'm only a couple of minutes away so I might head over later though. I wish Protest were PLAYING there but that'll probably never happen again. |
They really never played the Bovine though, maybe a show or two.
I'm not sure the afterparty really would be very special
Those parties are great if you're with the right crowd. I'm just not really friends with many people that'll be there so I'd feel awkward and out of place.
Hooray Rockets awesome streak.
They'd be better if they got rid of T-Mac. |
T-Mac, Bonzi, and Rafer Alston for Kobe.
Game over. |
