10th and Arch

I heard that show sucked wein. Did you meet any MX users?
It was awesome really. Except the Tossers didn't really do it for me and I don't know Westbound Train. I think I might have seen FloggingMurphy. I saw a person in a Streetlight shirt, who looked (I think) like the picture he put up awhile ago.

my band and i ( cpt. Finger) already play with streetlight, kick *** show here in montreal, alot of fun with them ... the drummer smoked a joint with me :naughty:

Did The Tossers play bad or did you just not get into them?

Kithkin 12-31-2005 08:08 PM

The Tossers say they have a really hard time getting good sound at most shows.

They were good when they opened for Reel Big Fish. They're an Irish-punk band that predates Flogging Molly... though Flogging Molly does it better.

Jersey's Best Dancer 12-31-2005 08:40 PM

The Tossers are more folk, they're not that fast. FLogging Molly is more punk fueled and are a lot faster.

I saw 3 ppl in Op Ivy hoodies. Was yours a zip-up hoodie? I definently saw you, just don't know which one you were haha. I should have asked all of the ppl in Op Ivy hoodies till I found you, but me and my friends were too busy skanking haha.

I didn't wear mine in. I contemplated it, but figured I'd be too hot. I was right. I was in my Briefs t-shirt. You may or may not have seen it, but oh well. Yeah, I was busy skanking too.

I saw those posers in Op Ivy hoodies. None as cool as mine. And yeah, mine's a zip-up.

The latter.

Anyone know a site with good Streetlight tabs? I want to play Point/Counterpoint with some people at my school's next talent show, but MX is down and I don't really know of any other respectable sites.

TAND 01-01-2006 11:27 AM

What do you play?

Well I'm gonna assume that you play guitar, and for the guitar parts the chords for the entire thing are just A, D, A, E, A, D, A, E, etc... all the way through. Play open chords, slightly slower for the intro and then turn them into "barré" ( or "ska" ) chords for the rest, I'm fairly certain that there are no other chords but the ones I mentioned, although the E is played an octave higher when barré'd, if I'm wrong then I just have faith in you to work out the rest of the chords.

Congrats on 1000th post, by the way.

I've posted that link for about 20 people and people still ask where to get tabs.

albert_bass 01-01-2006 05:08 PM

Yeah, I know. What can you do, start a massive campaign to show people how to use google?

Liebensaft 01-01-2006 05:10 PM

Last time I saw Streetlight, their drummer was like "Hey haven't I seen you at like 6 of our shows?" I was thinking 'hey that's pretty cool he remembers me....oh god maybe I go see that band too much.'

I was wrong, you can't see that band too much. I see the error of my ways now. I'm just glad they're not coming back anytime soon, cus I've run out of money for tickets/travel/merch.....No actually I wish they were coming back. I'd sell a couple of kidneys or something if I needed the cash that bad.

albert_bass 01-01-2006 05:28 PM

I wish they came to Spain at least one ****ing time in my life. I don't think they're coming this year.

I envy you. I've never seen them and I really want to.

What do you guys think about One cool guy?
I have only heard "from Downtown" but I think it is quite awesome.
Reminds me of a ska'ish Beasty Boys.

Brain Toad 01-01-2006 06:51 PM

I went there for the first time today. The tabs I looked at, atleast 75% were the same, and to top it off they were wrong.

jettadude77 01-02-2006 11:30 AM

i use http://www.ultimate-guitar.com now that mxtabs.net is down. it is a solid tabs site... news, tutorials, reviews, etc.

Yeah but as far as I know they have every major tab site on the web, or almost every one, so if you don't find it there you won't anywhere, unless it's on personal pages.

True, but all of mx's tabs aren't there, which sucks. Cause they had the most correct, and different tabs.

Lukeh 01-03-2006 10:29 AM
Cause im cool i use horntabs.com
I <3 horntabs.com so much, it saves me so much time and effort. Before I my friends and I used to literally spend hours just transposing tabs from C to Eb, etc...
