I got a few packs from my local Sainsburys, however the tape section is now so small compared to about 5 years ago, which is understandable since they're hardly used now. Good thing though is there fairly cheap now.

I just owned some stupid kid.
He told me to get pro tools instead of sonar studio 5.

I basicly sent him off crying at the end of it, because I managed to make the argument that alot of studios just have pro tools because it's effectively a badge as it's a widely recognised system so it pulls in more musicians. However they also need to keep on upgrading if they don't want to lose their 'badge' to competitors.
And generally whilst pro tools is a good pro system. You can get away with not using it, and saving alot of money.

So in the end he tried to back out by saying he couldn't care less. So I told him not to argue about it then if he doesn't understand or care about it.

And that shut him up.

This is also the same guy who claimed their vocalist didn't use any preamps in the studio  ...errr...I think he did kid. (He went into a pro tools studio, hence his blind loyalty for pro tools, despite his lakc of anyu recording knowledge, and yet seems to think that in an updated pro tools set up, vocals would be recorded without any preamp at all)

moaner 10-21-2005 09:06 AM

don't you know about that k?

Protools invented a digital pre-amp. you just plugthe mic into a line level input, and some pixies remove all the noise and make it line level.

one of the pixies in named michael.

they have to give the pixies enough food to last them a loooooong time, so thats why pro tools is so expensive.

Dead_Trench 10-21-2005 07:50 PM

I just made a new song. It has a progressive like structure. It's like Intro-Verse-Bridge-Verse-Chorus-Outro.

blader 10-22-2005 11:06 AM

can we listen to it anywere or see the lyrics?

moaner 10-22-2005 03:12 PM

my 4 track came today

its nice, but the headphone jack is kinda noisy.

I'm currently blanking a tape for it.

Trigger_003 10-22-2005 06:39 PM

That's awesome Moaner :thumb:.

Haha, I went to a party last night. One of the things that happened... this 13 or so year old knocked on the door, was holding a present so my mate's dad, thinking he was party of the party, let him in. The guy walks into where we're all sitting and he just stands there while an awkward silence comes across the room as we all think "... who's that?". He eventually mumbles embarrassedly "err... wrong party".
As he left, Emma asked if she could have the present anyway.

Somehow we found out that he then thought the party was supposed to be at no. 3 up the street. So later on we grabbed a Crunchie, stuck a candle in it, and walked up there... just to make him feel better, you know :p. We just waited at the gate while the two who suggested doing this went up to the door pretending this was the party they thought they were going to. The kid who answered the door let them in.

Anyway, it turned out that that mustn't have been the right party either because there were all these 18 year olds inside. They were going on at those two saying "who the f. are you?" "Do you know who the f. this is?" "Get out of my f'ing house!".

Diatonic Dissonance™ 10-22-2005 06:42 PM

!

Aes820 10-23-2005 02:49 AM

So what was the party occasion for Trea?

It's been a fairly busy weekend for me as well. Last night we had a haloween costume party down at a local watering hole, which was fairly wild.

And today I spent over at my folks' place for their 30th wedding anniversary. I had to handle the BBQ, and tend after the 50 or so 50 somethings who were well on their way to getting pissed drunk.

And next weekend there's Stonefest. How fun!

Trigger_003 10-23-2005 03:00 PM

My drummer's birthday.
The next few weeks are crazy. Seems my friends have all decided to have their birthdays now (I have 5 parties in three weeks). Then I'm also suddenly going on a camp tomorrow (I only found out on Saturday, but it's for free so it's all good) with the CFA class from school. That means I get to go mud fight/wrestle again :)!

Haha, dress-up parties rock. I have a few strange pictures of Derek dressed up as a star and me as a grim reaper at a "What Comes Out After Dark" one.
What did you go as Chris?
And next weekend there's Stonefest. How fun!
I hope stonefest involves more rocks and less reefers, or i'll have to frown at you and feel morally superior.

Aes820 10-23-2005 08:51 PM

Nah. I don't smoke weed.

Stonefest is a big music festival / party to celebrate the anniversary of a local university.
It's named after a stone that was unveiled during the construction of the uni.

Grr, I did a review of teh Tascam 424 MKIII in ciao.co.uk. You know what some girl posted as a comment?

"I didn't understand any of that"

You know what?
Good.
Because If you need things like, 'e.q.' and 'pan' and 'xlr' and 'jack' and 'phantom power' explained to you. Then you really have no place in the recording equipment section ok?
I generally didn't feel the need to provide the entire history of cassette multitracking and glossary of terms, so some woman could understand a subject she obviously doesn't need to know about.
You're better off with a dick in your mouth so shut up.

Somewhat helpful?
What?
I post how to use the fucking unit, list items it'd pair up with, list it's lacking features and even point out near every single ****ing button on the unit alongside how many inputs. And it's just somewhat helpful? How about no.
If she comments on my reviews again I'm gonna post a dead kitten through her letter box.

airborne50caliber 10-25-2005 03:05 PM

did she provide her home address?

Aes820 10-25-2005 03:06 PM

Relax champ, it was just a post on the internet.

KKKocaine snaps easily

I was close ot posting a comment of "harry likes teh c0ck", just to see if he'd work out it was me.

However, they tried to make me register.

KKKKKocaine 10-25-2005 03:25 PM
did she provide her home address?
No. But I can pretend!
Just like last nights crazy dream. I had two pet rabbits. One was pregnant. In my dream the way rabbits gave birth was their eyelids where sown shut. Then you carefully ran a scalpel between the thread and opened their eyes and a lil baby rabbit popped out. (Albeit, the rabbits where 2-d and made from cotton, but shut up, this was my dream  ) and that was about it. 1 baby for each eye.
