Well yep i'm an idiot sorry for the false hopes, or not cause now we can hope that the new album will be better then that
|
so none of those were DT.....what the hell did i download????
|
You downloaded LaBrie's solo material.
Can I ask what would be so horrible about waiting for the actual release date?? |
I love the sound of the new songs from the samples. Now I really cannot wait.
|
I'm pretty sure the samples on bol.de are the real thing. A staff member of mine posted this on our site last night:
http://www.crimsonsunrise.com/shownews/10
Check it out. You need realplayer to hear them. http://www.bol.de/shop/bde_homestartseite/artikeldetails/ID6387133.html Click the buttons which say "horen."
And this a few days before: http://www.crimsonsunrise.com/shownews/9
Taken from bol.de, one of the biggest online shops in the world. 1. The Root Of All Evil 08:07 2. The Answer Lies Within 05:26 3. These Walls 06:59 4. I Walk Beside You 04:29 5. Panic Attack 06:16 6. Never Enough 06:33 7. Sacrificed Sons 10:42 8. Octavarium 24:00 Evidently, the 25-minute-long title track rumour originating from the Chris Jericho radio interview was accurate. Also, on a supplementary note, an interview on ytsejam.com has revealed that James Labrie has supplied lyrics to two songs on the album. =P
So there's two news articles involving bol.de. The staff member owns Elements of Pursuasion and says the samples available there are not from LaBrie's album. |
"James Labrie has supplied lyrics to two songs on the album"
That's pretty cool. |
The chorus to These Walls sounds immense. I love the sound of the keyboard. I think it may be the Continuum (sp?) thing that JR is using for the record.
|
"James Labrie has supplied lyrics to two songs on the album"
That's pretty cool.
He supplied lyrics for two songs on 6DOIT too. For all we know, that's a quota. "No, James, how many times do we have to tell you? The point is that we dominate musically over you AND lyrically over you! It just wouldn't be Dream Theater otherwise!" |

I did not know this, which songs were they? |

Blind Faith and Disappear. Great tracks. |
OK thread recussitation time...
What album would you guys like to see DT cover next? Personally I think it would be badass if they did 2112 or Moving Pictures. edit: changed my mind...Rush's self titled album would be better. :thumb: |

Would be weird... or "aenema" by tool |
Is it just me or did they take down the samples? Oh well, I have them all saved on my computer anyway.
|
'lookin out my back door' by clerence clearwater would be the funniest song for DT to cover......definitely

I only question why DT needs to cover any other bands songs. Keep up the mastering of the modes and scales. And write some more of the most advanced music since Rush and Yes. Let that Berkley and Juliard education shine through.
|
You have a point...nothing tops DT's original work IMO. Buts its a cool surprise to hear their take on other popular bands' music too. Thats why I don't get people ranking on the second half of A Change Of Seasons...I think its badass to hear DT doing Queen!
just for the record: DT originals>>>>>>>DT covers |
Hey guys
Little DT help. In the Instrumedley they play Paradigm Shift then another LTE (i think) song which is amazing. Im wonderring what that next song is called? |

It rips their Metropolis 2000 dvd in my opinion (even though that was still utterly amazing). I eargasmed like 5 times while watching it :D. |
hehe nice dude, I only own the metropolis dvd ( from the dvds )

I think it's neat whenever DT does cover songs. It's just a nice break from playing their usual songs. I would love to see another ACOS style album (minus the token epic) containing cover songs, and song medleys. |

They have done a cover of YYZ. |

I eargasmed like 5 times while watching it :D.
I think if Portnoy did the Metropolis DVD a little better (left out all those trippy visuals), it'd have been a lot better. I absolutely love that DVD, but the epileptic parts coupled with the amateur effects got old. The Budokan DVD is excellent and professionally done, but I think the set was a little more boring. I'd have to watch it again, though. |
The Budokan DVD is really tasteful, I love the shot of the train flying past in the documentary part...I think it's in the documentary part anyway.
