what would you consider the Circle Jerks, then.

i've always considered them hardcore.
i wouldnt go as far as calling them hardcore but i would call them street punk.

fisticups 08-29-2004 03:25 PM
you put Every time i die in the matal core side why?, i was watch the episode of uranium where is hard core vs matal arm wresleing and every time i die was on hardcore and they sound more hardcore than metalcore abiding by the way you discribe the two catigories was that a typo is not explain wy its not
ok dude this is why u dont get ur info from know it alls. hardcore is all about the attidude and not just the sound of the music. there is a grey area between hardcore and metalcore. metalcore sounds more like metal ( high pitch squeels, guitar solos, etc.) hardcore has more punk and street influences. hardcore is upfront no bells and whistles. plain and simple

No, hardcore is not about the 'attitude'...

Yes.

cbmartinez 08-29-2004 04:54 PM

I listened to Silent Drive and Scars of Tomorrow. Both sound really good, especially Silent Drive. They sound really raw and emotional.

STAYGOLDXXX 08-29-2004 08:37 PM

who cares and etid is not even close to metal

shane italian 08-29-2004 08:38 PM
who cares and etid is not even close to metal
They aren't very close to hardcore.

Smaller local shows are so much better than bigger shows with stages and what not.

Scars of Tomorrow have awesome breakdowns and lots of potential... other than that I can't stand them. It's like they could be way better but they're holding back. Aside from a couple songs, they bore me to no end.

Silent Drive are amazing. I still need to review that CD. God I suck.

I'd say metalcore. As in metal and hardcore fused together. They are more on the metal side. They are pretty close to metal if you ask me.
noone said they were.
someone earlier in the thread said they were more hardcore.
someone earlier in the thread said they were more hardcore.
if we are looking on the scale

....................................METALCORE
..........................................|
METAL |----------------------|--*-------------------|HARDCORE

they'd be right there. Because they are slightly reminicent of hardcore but still way metalcore.

syrUsbilt 08-30-2004 12:29 AM

YES THERE IS AN ACTUAL SCALE.

tools.

TheYellowDart 08-30-2004 05:47 AM

why is it catigorized any ways, does it realy piss you off if music you like is catigorized wrong, the worlds not gona end lets just leave it as music is either good or bad depending on the talent and effort that is put into it
Does anyone have the new Champion album? If so, is 'The Decline' re-recorded, or live or what? Because I downloaded a version of it, and it sounds pretty shitty. I hope they didn't screw it up, that's my favourite Champion tune...
i've got it... i can send it to you when i get home from vacation in a week. i think the new version of "the decline" is pretty good. the gang vocals are certainly strong than the "count our numbers" version. i can't pick which i like better though.
