StreetlightRock 06-15-2004 05:55 PM

I like Queen, Led Zeppelin, the Who, AC/DC, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, and Aerosmith.(Older Aerosmith like "Sweet Emotion")

anarchist_cup_cake 06-15-2004 06:09 PM

modern rock is just reincarnations of all the bands that came before it, creating a melding pot of the most popular of the classic rock bands, but popified to fit the general audiance, so the original is always better, yay classic rock

Maggot Dream 06-15-2004 07:12 PM

Classic rock is my fave, and there's a few people in my class who are starting to like it too. Led Zep and The Who are my favorites, but the doors, Jimi Hendrix, CSNY, and Aeorsmith are awesome too.

RockAndRoll 06-15-2004 08:40 PM

How popular is steppenwolf outside of canada? Because i've never really thought of them as being that big but they did have a few big hits and they make great music.

Badmoon 06-15-2004 08:52 PM

^ Well, here (Illinois) they are pretty well known, and most will know a song or two.

VoodooChild 06-15-2004 09:18 PM

"Born to Be Wild", "Magic Carpet Ride", and "Wild Thing" are 3 of the most used songs in movies and comercials ever.

BludgeonySteve 06-15-2004 10:00 PM

^Yeah. Mostly car commercials.

The Esoteric 06-15-2004 10:31 PM

Hey badmoon, where do you live in Illinois, relatively?

Badmoon 06-15-2004 10:43 PM

Orland Park, which is about an hour away from Chicago :)

Badmoon 06-15-2004 10:50 PM

Are you the from the same?

The Esoteric 06-15-2004 10:58 PM

I live in Villa Park about 20 mins from Chicago.

The Esoteric 06-15-2004 10:59 PM

Are you going to that loop concert July 4th (I think) with The Doors and ZZ Top and some other bands?

Badmoon 06-15-2004 11:01 PM

Maybe, I seen ZZtop last year with Kenny Wayne Sheppard and Ted Nugent. Though, I have never seen The Doors. So, maybe.

Most the concerts the Loop sponsors and runs are pretty good and fun. Though the channel is getting extremely repetitive.

Badmoon 06-15-2004 11:03 PM

Wait...Will it be at Tweeter? If not where?

The Esoteric 06-15-2004 11:03 PM

Yeah I would love to see The Doors but I don't think it would be worth it without Jim Morrison. Anyways tickets for that show are long since sold out, but apparently theyre doing it all again the 20th.

The Esoteric 06-15-2004 11:05 PM

I don't know I didn't actually plan on putting up the money to go so I never bothered to find out.

StreetlightRock 06-16-2004 02:48 AM

Stepphenwolf is like the band for all the bikies out there, along with blue oyster cult.

DVG.

The Esoteric 06-16-2004 11:20 AM

Not to sound stupid, but "bikies"?

Badmoon 06-16-2004 11:30 AM

^ Nor have I ever heard this way.

EDIT:Wait, it was a typo and he probably ment "Bikers".

The Esoteric 06-16-2004 11:43 AM

Oh. Well that makes sense then.

RockAndRoll 06-16-2004 03:44 PM

hehe anyone heard of gearheads? apparently they're like deadheads but for BTO i think it was, i'd never heard of them until there was this radio program on CBC about them.

Space Ace 06-16-2004 06:55 PM

you know nothing you fool :smash:

Badmoon 06-16-2004 07:07 PM

^ Leave, unless your kidding

Well, Phish's final album came out yesterday. I gave it a listen, and it is probably the most diverse album they put out. I personally love it.

King Vic 06-16-2004 07:42 PM

IMO KISS is the greatest classic rock band of them all!!!!!!!!!!

blinkdrummer182 06-16-2004 08:18 PM

Led Zeppelin
