Lord Abortion-Blue Streak was quite cool when I saw it the first time, then it got really boring next time I saw it. :-/ It's quite a cool film though.
there are some great lines in there though

"you wanna see those ridges imprinted in your ass?"

"no sir, I don't want to see the ridges"

Arucard 07-03-2005 05:30 PM

Wow, i had fun at a party tonight. I didn't get drunk, but i ate good BBQ and got so stoned its unreal. Generally i don't do drugs, but all of the trendy D+G kids persuaded me.

Also, Symphony X : Inferno (Unleash The Fire) could possibly be the best song ever.

Bartender 07-03-2005 05:31 PM

D+G?
Man, those are some seriously nice albums...how much did you get them for? I got the Blackalicious album courtesy of Zappa raving about it, and it's amazing. One of my favourite hip-hop albums out there, and the fact that DJ Shadow's involved just makes it even cooler.
Victorialand, Fear of a Black Planet and 36 Chambers were £4.99 each. Blazing Arrow was a bit more expensive (£8.99), but it was actually the first I picked up (more or less without hesitation, sadly enough), because of Zappa's love for it.

How is DJ Shadow involved with Blazing Arrow? I'm aware of a whole bunch of guest/involved artists, but not him.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-03-2005 05:31 PM

Med- How was Live 8? I IM'd you about it, but you must have been away.*

*ignoring me. :(

Ibanez Slayer 07-03-2005 05:31 PM

yeah that was a good movie when you see it the first time. i like the ridges part, i also like the part when he says he has a fat cat in his pants.

Yeah, I didn't think you were ignoring me. Oh, and they put Mariah Carey in London just so that everyone could have a good bathroom break.

Bartender 07-03-2005 05:57 PM
I know he produced it, and I think he might have done something else with it, but I'm not sure. That's a really nice deal you got there, anyway, although I'm guessing you know that.
Yeah it is, thanks :) I've only listened to Blazing Arrow and Victorialand so far, though. For some reason, with two new albums sitting there waiting, I've started listening to our (my sister and I) collection of random downloaded stuff on my old home computer. So far I've been getting a mix of boyhitscar, Brad Paisley, Brand New, Breed 77, Brian Setzer and his Orchestra, Bright Eyes and that guitarified cover of Toxic. Hurrah.

Yeah, well the death heads thread has always been a slower thread (until recently, anyway). Besides which, this thread has a predecessor with 60,000 posts already.

I feel the same way. But then again, it shouldn't really matter that much.

Hello there. Just tried recording for the metal cover competition and it went really badly. I'm still new to the program and I can't figure out how to get it just right. Grr. Frustrating. Anything interesting going on?

What program are you using?

I'm hoping to pick up Apple Garage Band this summer, which will be sweet.

I'm using Audacity. I figured out how to record from a microphone, but I'm still confused about if you can record many different parts and play them together, or what.

Download Acoustica Mixcraft. It's good for adding different layers.

This thread has never been anything amazing anyways.

Steerpike 07-03-2005 07:59 PM

I finally got around to listening to some Alter Bridge. Good stuff, but I have one minor complaint.

Specifically, I think Mark Tremonti got a little over-zealous. He's got a new band (kind of), he's got much more creative control, he's now more involved in the songwriting process. That's all great and everything, but some of his guitar solos needlessly turned to shred and turned masturbatory until he slowed down again.

I think in the thrill of getting to open up his talent and skill, he lost perspective a little.

lunch998 07-03-2005 07:59 PM

I was somewhat joking, I just didn't know how to work my way into the conversation following the discussion of someone who had to get to the hospital because of his junx.

I was watching them play some live songs in Japan. They played Needled 24/7, Silent Night Bodom Night, Lil Bloodred Riding Hood, and Hatecrew Deathroll. It was a pretty good performance, but the crowd was kind of boring.

You could just edit out your edit, Jake.

Anyway, my gf went clubbing tonight :( heaven knows how many creepy European dudes were trying to get in her pants

I doubt that's the case, though...I think she loves me enough to stay faithful.

And her older brother's there too, so he can play protective older brother if the need arises.

Let me tell ya about love son... :p

Yeah, if he's there I'd be willing to bet nothing goes down on the small liklihood it would in the first place :)
