Thanks, man :).

Hehe, Neil Young looks coked up on The Last Waltz :p. Yay to whoever posted that link before.

Badmoon 12-29-2004 12:57 PM

Has anyone noticed that John Bell's voice (Widespread Panic) is like a more talented Neil Young? No offense to Livewired or Young, but you two may agree he isn't that spectacular in the vocal department.

JPJ, how's Blues for Allah?

ATTENTION: I will send out Grateful Dead albums whenever anyone wants.

BludgeonySteve 12-29-2004 01:29 PM

Yes, we've noticed that a lot of people are better singers than Neil Young. Livewired and I are beyond fanboyness. ;)

or atleast thats what I tell people. :(

Badmoon 12-29-2004 01:30 PM

No, but this guy sounds very similar.

BludgeonySteve 12-29-2004 01:34 PM

Hmm, he has the same kind of quality to it. It's a little more powerful than Neil's.

Simple Man 12-29-2004 01:34 PM

I think your rock not roll name is unbanned cause this name was and we got banned together I think.

BludgeonySteve 12-29-2004 01:37 PM

I just checked, it isn't :(.

Hehe, now that I listened to some songs (because I haden't in a while). The guy from WideSpread panic is like Neil Young. A more powerful, less girly sounding version :thumb:

Stonefree 12-29-2004 02:03 PM

I haven't heard Widespread Panic.

/goes to nugs

I think Danny Whitten's voice is super awesome but not that skillful. It just sounds awesome.

I loved it, it was really odd. One part of the last song sounded like it came straight out of a cheesy 80's horror movie, not that that's a bad thing.

IAJP 12-29-2004 02:45 PM

I got "One More From The Road" By lynyrd skynyrd today.

It's ****ing amazing,
pardon my language but Skynyrd are a band that need REVERING!
everyone just thinks they're Sweet Home Alabama and Freebird, they're so so so much more that that..

I agree, they're so much more than those two songs. They have atleast 5 songs that are better than both of those. Freebird is kind of annoying though and Sweet Home Alabama bashes Neil Young.

magicbus 12-29-2004 03:21 PM

Who likes We're Going Wrong? These are the kind of songs I love cause Clapton's guitar sounds so eerie. This might be one of my favorite Cream songs, next to every other one of their songs. Its so calming.

I'd say Gimme Three Steps is my favorite Skynyrd song.

Illmatic 12-29-2004 03:25 PM

I for one love "We're Going Wrong".

And personally, I can't stand Skynyrd. They're basically a generic Southern rock band who got famous off of a nine-minute power ballad, a feud with Neil Young, and a plane crash.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Two of my favorite songs by them are Red White and Blue, and The Way.

Rep'd.

Haha, I'll talk to him about it

And I like Freebird, personally, I think it's one of Ronnie Van Zant's best.

I don't really like Cream's first album to tell you the truth, It wasn't really..as strong (?) as Disralie Gears, which, for me, is one of the most iconic albums of all time.
We're going wrong (or world of pain) is the best song off it.

My favourite Skynyrd song is either : Gimme Back My Bullets, simple man or Tuesdays gone.

You can't blame them cause some of their members got killed in a plane crash, I'm sure if they had it their way, they wouldn't have died in a plane crash, I can't see how you're trying to say they're 'cashing in' on the tragedy, it's something that happened that also happened to bring a bit of publicity to the band, be it negative publicity or positive, it's all publicity, and something that they could not help..

I love those songs, Well atleast Simple Man and Tuesday's gone but I don't really care for gimme Back My bullets too much.

I'm not blaming them for dying in a plane crash, I'm simply stating a fact: the tragedy is what makes them all that more famous.

All of "Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skeh-nerd" is brilliance,
just the concert performances re-inforces how good they actually were.
(another good song: workin' for MCA)

Any Publicity Is good publicity
Their's just happened to be a horrific tragedy, of course something like that is going to bring publicity to a band, who, let's be realistic, needed it, they never had the (deserved in my opinion) publicty that other bands, like Led Zeppelin or The Who had.

Illmatic 12-29-2004 03:45 PM

I wouldn't go so far as to say Skynyrd "deserved" publicity.
